Ivaander and Kaylee both headed for the kitchen, as the party continued on. The two moved throughout the house, and passed others.
Students noticing the unusual male whom Kaylee was walking with. She felt as though she was moving in a crowd full of judgements.
However, even with that happening, she didn't mind it this time. It was only annoying to her because she felt they had no reason to do so.
It was indeed true that Ivaander looked very unusual, almost like he was a foreigner from another planet and not just another country. Perhaps he had a rebellious personality that made him cut his hair that way.
Kaylee thought about it as she entered the kitchen and looked around for some glasses they could use. Ivaander sliding in behind her quietly like an undetected presence.
She couldn't believe she was really here at a party with this man. Her mind felt like it was racing with a thousand questions, but she knew he was clever with his words.
He also seemed to be open and honest with everything, so sometimes she felt she had no need to beat around the real questions. Kaylee was curious about him, and about his features, and she felt perhaps drinking would easy the tension.
She would need some liquid encouragement to really ask the blunt questions on her mind. Although, she wasn't sure if Ivaander was going to answer them, but there was only one way to find out.
" Ah. Here they are. " she remarked grabbing two glasses for herself and him.
Ivaander standing in the kitchen, as his purples gazed around and fixed back on Kaylee. The woman slowly looking up to make eye contact before looking back down with a nervous laugh.
Now it always felt like she could no longer make eye contact with him. At first she had no issues, and now all of a sudden she couldn't do it anymore.
Ivaander picked up on such a thing, and formed a devilish smirk at her in a mocking way. His demeanor keeping the calm and quiet aura that he normally had.
" Something on your mind? " he would openly ask her.
The music in the house blasting, and it was hard to hear one another but she felt like she could hear him easily. Though him asking said question only intensified her nervousness being with him.
" Huh? " she would say back pretending to not have heard him.
Ivaander noticing that she couldn't hear him, as he stepped closer towards her. Kaylee stopping immediately what she was doing, as her heart was pounding deep in her chest.
She felt like she could collapse at any moment as he got closer and closer. She could smell his refine and lovely cologne. The smell of lavender and poise that filled her nostrils.
He leaned in with his face towards her earlobe, as Kaylee closed her eyes. It was almost as if she was expecting a kiss from him. Her reaction not going unnoticed by him.
He grin a bit as he whispered in her ear with his soothing deep accent.
" I asked... is something on your mind... " he repeated with a more seductive and alluring tone of voice.
Kaylee feeling a blush take over her, as she chuckled and looked behind her. Trying to think of an excuse or something to change the subject.
She didn't have the confidence to ask him the blunt questions, and perhaps she never would be able too. That was more of Tiffany's attitude and personality rather than hers.
Kaylee tried to make do at what she could, as the girl would find some wine for them both. Pondering a bit as she formed something in her mind as she poured both them a glass.
" Well I do have one question, why are you dressed like that?! " she shouted as she tried to make sure he had heard her through the loudness.
Ivaander responded with an arch of a brow.
" Like ... you look too fancy! " she added on as she leaned in a bit which made Ivaander lean in so she could shout towards him.
" This is fancy to you? " he replied with a chuckle.
Kaylee shrugged.
" I mean— "
" Because if this is what you call ' fancy ' you'd hate to see my other attires then... " he would said with a smirk and another laugh.
" I mean— I just don't want your nice outfit getting dirty.... These kids aren't going to be able to pay for something that looks ... expensive.. " Kaylee would explain.
Ivaander heard her more clearly indicating that the music had changed and it was a bit more soothing and least shouting. Kaylee noticing the same as the two stood in the kitchen together.
" Ah... how kind of you to worry about my clothes. " Ivaander teased.
The remark causing Kaylee to smile a bit before looking down and taking another sip of wine. This time she sipped more than she normally would, as her nerves were getting the better of her.
" No. I— while I appreciate the concern, I have no plans on getting uncleaned. "
" Well it's a house party.... Anything can happen. " she commented.
" Then it will be unfortunate for the individual who shall get me uncleaned... " Ivaander stated his remark seeming nonchalant.
Kaylee nodding at him but also to the music as she felt herself starting to vibe towards it. Ivaander glancing over at her as he slightly formed a grin.
" ... This is your taste in music is it? "
" Yeah, I mean I like Hip-Hop, it's better than what they had on earlier which is rap. " Kaylee stated.
Ivaander making no remark back this time, as he shifted his wine in the glass before placing it down on the counter. Kaylee noticing that he hadn't sipped at all not even once.
" I noticed you haven't sipped. You don't like wine? My bad. I shouldn't asked if wine was your taste. " she remarked.
" No. I — I prefer red. " Ivaander told her.
" Oh? Red wine. " Kaylee replied back as she looked around the kitchen while holding her own glass.
" Top shelf, left side! I'll do the honors. " another voice chimed in to say as both Kaylee and sanded turned to see who it was.
Kay realizing it was Tiffany as she finally had spotted both Kay and Ivaander talking together. Ivaander glancing over at Kaylee to notice her subtle expression.
" When did you— " Kaylee softly tried to say as Tiffany barged right into their conversation and went to the cabinet for Ivaander.
" Aha— there is no need. " Ivaander replied towards Tiffany as Tiffany walked over towards him and grabbed his glass.
Standing directly in front of him, which made Kaylee move out of the way involuntarily. Her orbs almost like stabbing knives at Tiffany's head in the back of her skull.
" Oh nonsense... " Tiffany started to say as she poured him a glass and grabbed another from the countertop.
" Any friend of Kaylee's is a friend of mines, especially when he's cute. " she said in a softly and lovely way.
Her eyes gazing at him as she lifted her glass and sipped her drink while staring at him. Ivaander picking up the glass and shifting around the wine before sipping it a bit.
His eyes fixed on her as well, as the two sipped together which Kaylee felt was distasteful. She knew this would happen the minute Tiffany stuck her nose around Ivaander.
Tiffany was such a big flirt with any man she could get her hands on, and it would seem Ivaander would fall victim to it. The next thing she knew Tiffany started to make conversation with him.
" I'm glad you could make it here, I hope me giving you directions wasn't terrible. " she giggled at him.
Ivaander finding a bit of a chuckle and shrugged as he slid one of his hands in his pockets.
" It is quite alright. I have had worse. "
Tiffany laughing at his remark, as Kaylee rolled her eyes and chugged down some more wine. Pouring more liquid into her glass, when she normally wouldn't.
Though the thought of Tiffany flirting with Ivaander made her want to slap Tiffany. He toes curling inside her heels as she felt anger fueling up into her lungs.
" And there I mean— here I am- not only rich but gorgeous too. " Tiffany finished saying to Ivaander as she laughed.
Ivaander orbs glancing over at Kaylee as Kay had turned her back around and sipped her glass quietly. Tiffany walking around and locking arms with Ivaander.
" I have a great idea! How about I give you the famous tour? " She asked him, as Ivaander looked back at Kaylee for a moment and then over at Tiffany.
His demeanor still calm and charming.
" .... Well I doubt you'll let me refuse, so I see no reason not to. " Ivaander replied as Tiffany laughed cutely at his words.
" You're so funny. Okay let's go. " Tiffany remarked as she pulled Ivaander along and waved goodbye to Kaylee.
" We'll be back in an hour maybe! " she said laughing as her and Ivaander left the kitchen together.
Kaylee watched as the two disappeared into the crowd and around the corner. Kaylee felt like she could shattered the glass in her palm at any moment.
So she released the glass so it wouldn't happen, and immediately rushed out of the kitchen into the back again. Quickly stepped outside as she slammed the slide door closed.
Collapsing into her own weight of jealousy, as she felt small tears drop against her orbs. This was typical Tiffany behavior and yet this time that pain hurt more than ever.
She couldn't do this any longer, and couldn't take any more of this nonsense with Tiffany. For the first time in a long time, Kaylee had been devastated in a friend.
Someone she tried to consider a best friend, and for Tiffany to always play victim and flirt with someone she knew. It hurt even more, as Kaylee wiped her face and got up from the floor.
She disliked crying around others and even in a public setting. Her shaking hands as she placed them towards her waistline and tried to catch her breath briefly.
The wine taking a toll on her mind, as she felt her vision a bit blurry. Head pounding a bit, as the wine seemed to hit her a tad bit. Although Kaylee no longer cared, as she quickly rushed back into the house.
Moving past other students, as she went back into front of the house and bumped into Mark. The two collapsed briefly before Kaylee almost fell down and Mark held onto her.
" Hey whoa! Whoa.. easy.. are you alright? " Mark asked with a grin as he was in a good mood and also stoned.
" I'm fine! " Kaylee quickly said as she walked past him and continued to move past him.
Mark watching as Kaylee headed up the stairs as he threw his arms up in the air in confusion.
" Yo! Where are you going? " he would question.
" Home. I'm catching an uber. " she would say tossing her hands up in defeat and stomping up the steps as she headed for the parking lot.
Mark watched from the distance as Kaylee headed up the narrow pathway back towards everyone's vehicles. The male felt like he knew he wouldn't be able to stop Kaylee.
She was always level headed but whenever she got pissed he knew no one could stop her. She isolated herself, and usually that means cutting someone off soon.
He could only assume something happened at the party that now she wanted to go home. Mark felt bad but was too stoned to assist her.
The male just hoped that she would make it home safely and without any issues.
