Her goal was to provide a strict environment for noble young ladies to be educated more on their roles as women of nobility. Later on, the imperial academy became a place both for the noblemen and noblewomen.
Commoners were also privileged to attend the imperial academy under the guise scholarships sponsored by nobles, and even the imperial family. As a graduate of the imperial academy with no title, the commoner could work in the imperial academy, especially the male commoners as scholars or become an imperial knight.
