Chapter 106 - Chapter 106: The Third Visit to Leaf City

The week of teaching and nurturing passed in the blink of an eye.

Silas recalled his Pidgeot back into its deluxe Poké Ball and exhaled deeply as he looked at the familiar yet strangely unfamiliar city before him.

This week had been quite fulfilling.

But after spending so much time in the forest, he found himself wanting to return to the city.

Especially since during this week, he was either attending classes or out in the wild, which had become a bit monotonous.

So, as soon as his task was completed, he took Pidgeot and headed to Vermillion City.

Though he had been here twice before, he had only just barely explored the city, spending very little time here.

Following his usual routine, Silas first went to the Pokémon Center.

It was still early, but Nurse Joy had already started her day's work.

He booked a battle at the Vermillion City Gym. Normally, there shouldn't be any problems, so it should be settled by the afternoon.

Speaking of which, he didn't necessarily have to come challenge Vermillion City's gym there were other official gyms not far from the Pokémon School.

But perhaps out of a lingering attachment from his previous life, Silas chose to challenge them in the same order as in the anime.

Of course, he definitely wasn't going to the Viridian Gym.

For the badge he was missing, he could just challenge any other official gym casually.

When others asked why, as a local of Viridian City, he wasn't challenging the Viridian Gym, Silas just shrugged and said, "Why does it matter to you? Why not just take a different badge?"

After booking a room with Nurse Joy, he settled inside and stayed put.

The restaurant hadn't opened yet; he would go eat later.

He released his three Pokémon from their deluxe Poké Balls. Compared to the cramped space inside the Poké Balls, Silas felt that the fresh air outside was always more comfortable for them.

Pidgeot flapped its wings, stirring a breeze inside the enclosed room, which earned it a glare.

Squinting its eyes and trying to be affectionate, Pidgeot nuzzled Silas's chest and then laid down on the floor beside him.

Lately, it had become lazier apart from regular training and battles, it spent most of its time resting.

Boldore also lay quietly nearby, no longer making a sound.

Speaking of Boldore, its energy crystals on its body had been shining brighter recently. This was good news. Silas would need to get in touch with Brock to arrange a trade evolution.

After all, he couldn't trust just anyone.

A trade evolution requires exchanging Pokémon, and if the other trainer ran off, what would he do?

Meanwhile, Blaziken stood upright after being released, eyes closed, claws crossing in front of its body. Between its two claws, a milky-white sphere of energy formed and revolved.

"Blaziken~"

As if sensing Silas's gaze, Blaziken called out calmly and opened its eyes.

The white sphere between its claws gradually dissipated.

"Looks like your mastery of the Focus Blast is improving," Silas said in admiration.

"Shi!" Blaziken raised its claws proudly, signaling that of course it was talented after all, Lucario was the one who taught it.

Silas shook his head. That calm composure Blaziken had just shown was just an illusion.

When Blaziken told him a few days ago that it had learned Focus Blast, Silas had been very surprised.

He never expected his Blaziken to have such talent in Aura powers.

Perhaps it was because of its champion-level aptitude.

After all, Focus Blast represents the power of Aura not every Pokémon can learn it.

When Silas asked Blaziken about this, it said it had learned it from a Lucario it met on the training field.

Later, Silas went to meet that Lucario himself, and it was the first time he truly experienced the marvel of Aura power.

When the Lucario glowed blue and communicated with him, Silas was shocked it really had a mystical feel to it.

Fortunately, Aura power communication wasn't like psychic telepathy; it didn't allow cross-species direct dialogue.

Rather, it was more like a deeper understanding of what the Pokémon wanted to express.

Lucario believed Blaziken had exceptional talent in both fighting and Aura powers. Even among its own kind, it had rarely seen a Pokémon with such ability.

Most Lucario are born with innate Aura power, yet Blaziken surpassed many of them this showed just how high Blaziken's talent really was.

So Lucario voluntarily offered to teach Blaziken some techniques on how to better utilize Aura and improve its fighting skills during the time Blaziken would stay here.

Silas was, of course, very happy to agree. Through the zero unit's observation, he had already seen the terrifying strength of this Lucario at a near-champion level.

Normally, most Pokémon wouldn't have the chance to receive guidance from such a powerful Pokémon.

Moreover, regarding the origins of the Lucario in front of him, combined with previous information, Silas already had some suspicions in his mind.

To confirm his guesses, he calmly expressed a desire to meet with Lucario's Trainer to convey his gratitude.

Lucario, sensing the excitement in Silas's heart, hesitated briefly but thought this was quite normal. He said his Trainer would arrive in an hour or two, and if Silas didn't mind waiting, he could wait a bit.

Silas, naturally, had no objections. He spent two hours sitting in the nearby lounge officially "waiting" and observing Blaziken's training until finally, that Trainer arrived.

The moment Lucario's Trainer stepped into the training ground, Silas's joy was obvious and overflowing.

It was none other than Cynthia!

But he quickly composed himself. When Lucario and Blaziken came out from the training ground and Cynthia began speaking with Lucario, Silas then stepped forward.

Thinking of this, Silas looked at Blaziken with satisfaction. Such a good kid, obedient beyond compare please, keep showing your excellent social skills.

Blaziken noticed the strange look from its Trainer and tilted its head. Ignoring him, it decided to practice more Aura on its own.

Then it closed its eyes again and began to focus on sensing Aura.

Aura, after all, is the perception of the energy in all things. Since Blaziken wasn't fully accustomed to it yet, it needed to close its eyes and concentrate deeply.

Silas pulled up research papers stored in his watch and continued studying.

After a while, the noise outside gradually grew louder.

Silas frowned and checked the time. It was about breakfast time—but why was it so noisy?

He turned off his watch, recalled the three Pokémon, and stepped outside.

A busy scene greeted him.

"Here, this Raticate needs intensive treatment. Lan, push it to ward number two."

"Over there, Jhon, you and Happiny restore that Rhyhorn. Its rocky exterior is seriously damaged."

Inside the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy and her assistants were bustling around, surrounded by Pokémon lying on beds and Trainers tending to them.

Silas blinked in surprise. What was going on?
