Corviz gritted his teeth and clenched a knife in his hand. He turned around and went to punch Kirko but sadly got blocked. Kirko's eyes were unwavering and gave another shallow cut to his shoulder.
Corviz held his injured shoulder and started running away, 'I have to live.' His eyes got brighter, 'I have to get stronger, I'll kill you next time.'
Kirko looked at Corviz running away, "That was boring, I expected him to be stronger."
Cain looked at Kirko, "You letting him go away?"
"Well, there's no point in killing him and I don't want to be a murderer. And besides, my back hurts. If he found that out I would have been screwed."
Kirko then put his palm over his mouth, 'His ability is that he had infinite ammunition. Every time he took out another knife the old one didn't disappear.' His face filled with jealousy, 'That's such an overpowered ability.' It usually takes like 2 to 3 seconds to make your weapon reappear (it was instant in the first mission because it was the start, but in the second mission the timer increased). It wouldn't seem like much, but in a fierce battle, every second counts, and Kirko has to somehow survive 2 seconds more to just get his weapon. But for Corviz, he could do it instantly.
'Well, my ability is cool too,' Kirko scoffed, and Cain just looked at him confused.
They both sat in the tower for another 5 minutes just because they didn't know what they would have to face next.
Corviz ran into another building and was breathing heavily. His injury got worse. He put his hand over his eyes, "I can't believe I pussied out, I haven't been embarrassed like this ever. I'll definitely kill that guy." He slammed his hand to the wall, cracking the already ruined wall.
After 5 minutes
"Cain, sharpen these both, please." He handed both his daggers to Cain, who sharpened both of them.
"By the way, Kirko, you're covered in blood. You know you can rub some of it off, right?"
"I know, but the more blood I have, the stronger I become."
Cain looked at him confused, "Ok, whatever you say."
They both left the building.
"Don't forget the plan," Kirko spoke while circling one of his arms.
"Ye, don't worry, but it's still scary," Cain spoke, then sighed.
The plan they created was to kill the worms. They knew worms were there in the area because as they were taking a break, the ground shook and became calm again. The plan was for Cain to lure the worms and run towards Kirko, who would be around 50 metres away from Cain, while Kirko had to teleport into the air and stab the beast while he fell down.
Kirko made this plan after killing one like this before.
The plan sounded great, and hopefully it works. Cain was hesitant at first, but he couldn't think of any other way to kill the worms, so after a little bit of asking from Kirko, Cain agreed to be the scapegoat of the plan.
They both started their sprint again, hoping no worms would come to them. Well, at least one of them was, while Kirko wanted to kill more beasts and get more coins, 'It has to be useful in some sort of way.'
After running for 10 seconds, a big growl was let out by Cain's stomach, making him and Kirko stop in place.
"Y-You okay?" Kirko looked at him in worry.
"Ye, it's nothing. I'm just hungry." Cain scratched his head while laughing awkwardly.
Kirko put his hand on his mouth, "Now that you mention it, we haven't eaten anything for 10 hours. But not only that, we also haven't drunk anything, but I don't feel thirsty even though we ran around 2.5 km." He turned towards Cain, "Do you feel thirsty?"
"No, I don't. I'm just hungry."
Kirko kept thinking for a whole minute then spoke, "Well Cain, I got a way to eat, but you won't like it."
Cain looked at Kirko and put his palm on his face, "Please don't tell me that we have to eat the worms."
Kirko, who was looking at Cain, turned his head away and in a sarcastic voice he spoke, "Nooo, I wasn't going to do that."
"Are you sure?"
"No," he spoke sarcastically, then sighed, "Ye, we have to eat the worms."
Cain became disappointed, "Well, ok. Let's kill one."
The ground below them shook heavily.
Kirko smirked, "Well isn't this a perfect time. Cain, get ready to execute the plan."
Cain nodded his head, and Kirko ran away. He reached 30 m away from Cain in about 2 seconds, and as soon as he did, Cain started sprinting too. At the perfect time, the worm pierced out from the ground and chased after Cain.
"Kirko, do it fast!" Cain screamed as he ran as fast as he could.
Kirko threw his dagger and teleported into the air while Cain brought the worm right below him.He attached both his hands to his body and attached his legs, making him fall faster. Just before reaching the worm, he did a flip and stabbed the beast, but it barely pierced it.
'They got stronger?' Kirko's eyes widened, but he didn't waste any time. He left the dagger in his right hand and with all his force, he slammed his hand onto the other dagger, making it pierce deeper into the body of the worm.
Cain was getting slower, but the worm wasn't. But the pain from the stab made the worm shake hard, trying to remove Kirko from its body. But sadly for the beast, Kirko had good enough grip strength to keep him on its body.
While Kirko was suffering and trying to stay on the worm, Cain looked at the madness in front of him and didn't know how to react.
Even through the heavy shaking, Kirko kept slamming his dagger deeper and deeper into the worm's body, and after it reached deep enough, he then twisted his dagger with all his might, screaming so he could exert more pressure. In a bit, it twisted, forming a hole into the beast's body.
The dagger got plunged out, making Kirko fall. But as the worm was still shaking in pain, it smacked Kirko with its tail and launched him into a nearby tower.
Cain noticed Kirko flying and tried to run after him, but he was too tired and hungry, so he just fell down.
Kirko was sitting inside the building, his body in pain, two ribs broken and the wound in his back reopened from crashing into walls.
"They got stronger and more sturdier." He clenched his hand, "At least let us heal before every mark."
He just wanted to sit there and take a break, but through the hole he created crashing into the wall, he saw it turn black with white spikes on the bottom, and he knew what was going to happen.
He got up, dusted his hoodie a bit, then in both of his hands two blue glowing lights flowed, and then both his daggers spawned in his hand.
The wall in front got destroyed by the worm. Tiny pieces of rock and a smoke of dust flew to Kirko. He blocked each slowly, and in front of him the giant worm stood.
Kirko put the hood of his hoodie on and then stood there, looking at the humongous worm looking down at him.
He grinned, "Only one of us is going to survive this exchange."
