Liam's POV.
As Sebastian drove us to college my mind still lingered at the moment when I said, I didn't have any feelings for Madeline, what a big fat liar I was.
If I didn't have feelings for her, who else would I have feelings for?
Madeline still behaved the same with me but it felt like there was some kind of distance that was formed. She wasn't even looking at me.
The warmth we shared this morning dissipated. Almost as if that moment was my wishful thinking.
''Liam,''
My head snapped towards her as she called out my name, swallowing a lump in my throat I said, ''Yeah?''
She turned towards me, her brown doe-like eyes carried a lot more questions than her mouth would ever express, ''Are we...friends?''
My breath hitched, No, not in this lifetime, not now.
I cleared my throat, ''Do you think we are?'' I shot back at her which earned me a glare.
''I asked you the question, answer me first.''
I looked away slightly terrified by the intensity in her eyes, ''We are not...''
