Aria stared in disbelief at the man who had just been speaking to her with such tenderness.
Her carefully crafted pitiful expression faltered completely.
"What did you say?"
Calvin didn't even spare her another glance.
Those captivating peach-blossom eyes now held nothing but icy detachment.
Wilfred, however, caught on immediately, his initial panic melting into a smug grin.
"Don't trouble yourself, sir, don't trouble yourself," he said obsequiously before whirling on his bodyguards with a sharp bark.
"You idiots!
Get her out of here now! If you ruin President Calvin's mood, you'll pay for it!"
"Yes, sir!"
Two bodyguards seized Aria again, stuffing a cloth into her mouth before flanking her tightly as they dragged her away.
She struggled violently, her desperate, muffled cries
"Mmmpgh—!
Mmmph—!"
directed at Calvin.
But Calvin had already lost interest, not even bothering to look her way.
