Gemma floated back out of the realm designated for the workers within the Celestial Express, her well-shaped body turning back to a shapeless wisp as she did. She landed next to Jax, who sat around a table in a tavern with other members of his party.
"Well?" Jax asked, looking up from his plate of roasted meat.
"It's the same," Gemma said, her voice carrying a note of frustration. "There's nothing in the records. I have no idea who that old man was."
Jax sighed. He'd been hoping for answers, but deep down he'd expected this response.
Ning took a large bite of leg meat and spoke. "Tell us more about this guy. You said you've fought him three times now?"
Jax nodded. "He's appeared out of nowhere each time. The first time was months ago. I was hunting alone when he came out of nowhere, just like today. He tried to attack me, but ended up dying after slipping into his own axe."
"Are you sure he died?" Melayne interrupted, "He was just attacking us."
