Chapter 113 - The Password Was Me

He leaned casually on the edge of the desk, schooling his expression into something more relaxed, but the tension still lingered in the air.

"Just… browsing," he said, shrugging, like it was the most normal thing in the world to be sneaking around someone else's study.

Heather narrowed her eyes slightly, her hand still on the doorknob. She wasn't stupid. She knew Adonis wasn't here for casual web surfing.

"And you don't have your own computer?" she asked, watching him closely.

Adonis gave a lazy grin, but it was stretched thin. "What about you? You don't exactly carry your laptop around either."

Heather didn't blink. "I live here."

"So do I," he shot back, still trying to keep his tone light, but his eyes darted briefly toward the screen behind him. He was definitely hiding something.

Heather stepped further inside, arms folding across her chest. Her voice lowered. "You know he doesn't like people snooping around in here."
