Chapter 43 - chapter 43

The pink light shimmered like scattered gemstones, radiating a dreamy glow. Tiny pink starlight particles, as if summoned, quickly spread to Dylan and the two standing beside him.

Within this ethereal pink haze, their figures gradually became blurred. The originally distinct outlines of their bodies softened, slowly fading into the surrounding environment.

"This is the new wand flash effect I researched. It enhances my spells," Dylan explained.

He wasn't exaggerating.

He had noticed that when he cast spells without enabling these special effects, something always felt lacking. But as long as he let the pink starlight particles flow freely, his spells felt significantly smoother, and their power increased slightly.

Dylan suspected this was a hidden effect of his customized wand.

The system had only mentioned that gold Galleons were required to change the wand's appearance, but it never explicitly stated that there wouldn't be any performance enhancements.

Because of this discovery, Dylan had considered spending all his money on wand customizations. However, he was also wary—if his wand looked too extravagant, professors might question him about its effects.

So, he decided to wait for a school break, like the winter or summer holidays, when he could experiment with spellcasting alone without drawing unnecessary attention.

"Oh my God..." Ron murmured, staring at his own nearly invisible hands in shock.

Dylan could perform such an advanced spell?

Are we really just first-year Hogwarts students?

Harry peeked out into the corridor and whispered, "I think Professor Snape just passed by. He's heading toward the fourth floor."

Harry hesitated. "Why would he be going there?"

Dylan glanced upward, his eyes thoughtful.

If there was an opportunity to get the Philosopher's Stone…

"I want to check it out," Harry said suddenly.

"Huh?" Dylan raised an eyebrow. "Really? Aren't you worried about Hermione and the troll?"

Harry paused.

"If Professor Snape knew you were planning something this dangerous, he'd skin you alive," Dylan pointed out.

Not wanting to waste more time, he stepped forward. "I'm not fully proficient in this spell. The Disillusionment Charm could wear off at any moment—we need to move quickly."

Ron glanced at Dylan, then at his nearly transparent hands. "Not proficient enough?"

So what does "proficient" even mean to Dylan?

He pursed his lips.

Maybe Hermione was right...

Without further hesitation, Ron and Harry caught up with Dylan.

The three of them moved through the corridor, approaching a classroom.

Dylan immediately wrinkled his nose.

"What a terrible smell."

A putrid, nauseating stench filled the air, burning his nostrils.

"Bubble-Head Charm!"

A wave of pink starlight particles burst from Dylan's wand, forming a transparent bubble around his head. Instantly, the foul odor was blocked, and clean air circulated within the bubble.

At the same time, the revolting smell seeped out from the bubble's edges.

"Hey! What kind of spell is that?" Ron asked, wide-eyed.

"I just told you its name," Dylan said, pushing open the door to the girls' bathroom.

Inside, a towering, grotesque troll was lumbering around.

Its bulky body swayed as it moved, pausing at each cubicle to sniff the air, as if searching for something.

Dylan's eyes narrowed.

The noise from the door startled the troll. It halted its slow movements and spun around abruptly.

Its massive, copper-bell eyes widened in fury.

"ROAR!"

"Calling for your mother?" Dylan quipped, spinning his wand without hesitation.

"Crucio."

A dazzling burst of pink starlight particles shot from his wand, striking the troll in an instant.

The troll's angry expression twisted into one of sheer agony as it let out a deafening wail.

"ARGHH!"

Its muscular arms flailed uncontrollably. It pounded its own chest, desperate to rid itself of the excruciating pain coursing through its body.

At that moment, Harry and Ron rushed in behind Dylan.

Seeing the troll's reaction, their faces filled with shock.

"What kind of spell is that?" Harry asked.

"Soul-Piercing Curse," Dylan said nonchalantly, making up a name on the spot.

Seizing the moment, he raised his wand again.

"Incendio!"

At the same time, he silently invoked a different spell.

Fiendfyre Curse.

This was one of six master-level Dark Arts spells Dylan had perfected.

In truth, he didn't even need a wand to cast them.

Nor did he need to recite the incantation aloud.

So, to Harry and Ron, it seemed as though Dylan had simply shouted "Fire!"

The next moment, a torrent of pink starlight particles erupted from Dylan's wand.

The glowing particles swirled and gathered rapidly, taking on a distinct shape.

In the blink of an eye…

A pink, furry rabbit emerged.

"Squeak!"

Flames danced across its plush body. Its ears stood upright, its ruby-like eyes glowed ominously, and its sharp fangs gleamed with fiery light.

The troll froze at the sight of the flaming pink rabbit.

A flicker of fear crossed its monstrous face.

Dylan smirked.

"Go."

The rabbit shot forward like a comet.

With a horrifying shriek, the troll staggered backward.

But it was too late.

The pink rabbit lunged, sinking its burning teeth into the troll's thick neck.

Flames flared violently as the enchanted fire gnawed at the troll's flesh. The scent of burning skin filled the room, blending with the already unbearable stench.

Harry and Ron—lacking Dylan's Bubble-Head Charm—gagged violently as the putrid odor overwhelmed them.

They turned away and retched.

"Ugh—!"

Dylan paid no attention to them.

Instead, he pointed his wand once more.

"Incendio!"

This time, the spell took on a new form.

Another pink furry rabbit burst forth—but this one was even smaller and cuter.

It moved like lightning.

Before Harry and Ron could recover from their nausea, the tiny pink rabbit zipped toward the troll's shoulder.

"Squeak~"

The rabbit tilted its head adorably…

Then, in a sudden burst of speed, it kicked off and dived straight into the troll's skull.

A final, bone-chilling scream tore through the air.

Then—silence.

The troll's eyes lost focus.

Its massive body wavered…

And then it collapsed with an earth-shaking BOOM.

The entire bathroom trembled under the impact.

Ron, still catching his breath, wiped his mouth and turned toward the scene.

His eyes bulged.

"Oh my god…" he muttered in disbelief.

"The pink fluffy rabbit killed the troll?!"
