Chapter 45 - Alana and pack

Alana POV

I could smell the coppery tang of pack's blood before I saw it.

That scent, it was more than the fight, more than the screams, more than the burn of betrayal still echoing in the shattered hall, was what cracked something deep inside me.

The multiplied blood hit my nose, and this time it was more ancient and restless than the first one, it stirred beneath my skin.

Not just the wolf, It wasn't even a decision. My body moved on instinct, on fury and desperation, on a strange sense of something inevitable finally arriving.

My knees hit the ground, my fingers clawed into the stone floor, and the pain was unlike anything I had known.

My bones shifted, and my muscles tore and rebuilt.

My skin felt like it was ripping from the inside, but I couldn't scream. My voice was buried under a howl that hadn't yet been born. My vision blurred and then cleared into sharp, vivid pieces of the world. I saw every strand of dust in the air.
