Nishi's grin was plastered across his face, a demonstration of his confidence and seeming excitement.
"Go on, draw that useless weapon, try to mark my flesh," Nishi spoke, his posture like that of a predator preparing to strike, the air warping around him.
Tanaka shakily held his hand hovering over service pistol, his teeth chattering, before a voice pierced the air, "That won't be necessary."
Nishi's head turned to the voice, this predatory sensation vanishing in an interest, "Class is in session, you'd better have a good excuse for interrupting my tutelage," Nishi said with a chuckle.
With a calm thud, a man landed a few feet in front of Tanaka, clad in a blue dress shirt, a tie with distinct animal print, and a strange pair of spectacles.
Nishi's chuckle vanished as his eyes hardened on this man, instantly turning to face him and an air of seriousness washing over him, "You... you're a sorcerer," scanning his body with his eyes, Nishi licked his lips, "MUCH stronger than those children I fought."
Adjusting his tie, the man's eyes narrowed on Nishi, "A striking bear-like scar over his left eye and a grin fitting a demon..." Reaching behind his back, he drew a strange sword, splattered black dots across a cloth wrapped length, "You fit the description."
Nishi whistles as he eyes the sword, "A blunt edge! You've got some tricks up your sleeve, dontcha!" He said with a eager smile and near-sparkle to his eyes.
Scowling, the man spoke firmly, "Based on their report, they said you have an issue with people not introducing themselves," adjusting his tie one last time, he spoke with anger, "My name is Kento Nanami, and under Jujutsu Regulations, you've been sentenced to death."
Tanaka and Keiji both stared on in awe, their presence dwarfed by the two monsters who stood at odds between them both.
Nishi's breath grew sharp as he clenched his fists, "This will be much more exciting, Keiji," glancing to Keiji, his eyes were on fire, "Pay close attention to this fight."
With a burst of speed, Nanami had cleared the gap, a slash aimed straight for Nishi's exposed neck, a quiet lethality oozing from him.
Pivoting on his heel, Nishi turned into a spiral of red and green, zipping from where he stood and lurching to a halt merely a few feet away, "Whoa! Crazy ass business guy almost took my head off!"
Cocking his arm back before he landed, it seemed to vibrate and jitter, his fist looking almost like a blur as he landed and launched it into the ground beneath him, sending fissures that rippled across the pavement, cracking it and knocking up a plume of dust.
Nanami's eyes hidden under his glasses scanned the area, leaping backwards for distance as he slid to a halt next to a rock wall, his head on a swivel as he scanned his environment.
Without any warning, the dust exploded outward as Nishi darted forward at Nanami, much to his shock. Reacting quickly, Nanami zipped toward Nishi, a quick slash across Nishi's wrist managing to steal a hand from him.
Smashing into the rock wall like a bulldozer, Nishi recovered quickly, looking to the poised Nanami, merely glancing to his cut off hand as he held it up, the muscles tensing as the blood flow halted instantly, "You're the first to wound me so badly, give yourself a round of applause," Nishi said with a chuckle, "Not like I can now."
Looking to Keiji and Tanaka, Nanami's field of view never let Nishi leave, quickly commanding them calmly, "Leave the area, this isn't a place either of you should be."
Both nodded, sprinting off in their respective directions, Nishi frowning as Keiji ran off, "I'll scold him later," sighing as he scratched the back of his head with his only hand, Nishi gave Nanami a grin, an unsettlingly calm one.
Nanami's eyes flexed momentarily, asking promptly, "You're down a hand, what's there to laugh about?" Nanami said, feigning confusion.
Popping his neck, Nishi didn't waste more than a second answering, "This will be fun."
His enter body surged with cursed energy as he smiled gleefully, "I THINK I'LL REGAIN MY REVERSE CURSED TECHNIQUE WITH YOU!" He roared as he laughed all the while, his body blurring as he zig-zagged towards Nanami like a bolt of lightning.
He wasn't moving at top speed already?! Nanami thought with worry as he readied himself.
Before landing, Nishi came to a near-instant halt, standing a few feet from Nanami as his grin distorted in the air, "Two Stage Lance!"
As if the second stage of a rocket was firing, Nishi instantly resumed his motion, as if the pause he'd put was lifted, like an explosion he crashed into Nanami with a kick straight center mass, who only narrowly blocked in time, sweat flying off of his forehead as he flipped through the air, crashing into a rooftop as he barely caught himself.
What sort of technique does he have, inertia control? Perhaps his output is being used to allow for such movements, surely it can't be sustained... Nanami thought as he slowly exhaled.
He watched as Nishi suddenly like a meteor crashed into the roof just across from him, lightly crouched as he wiped his face, the blur from earlier gone.
Am I correct? Is there a time limit? Maybe his body can't handle moving that fast and stopping so abruptly. Nanami thought as he checked his watch.
"My technique," Nishi said as he ruffled his hair, pushing it back, "Is kinetic energy."
Nanami's eyes narrowed, a technique reveal...
"My cursed energy moves and flows erratically, mimicking the properties of kinetic energy, with it I can imbibe it's effects into my body, amplifying my physical capabilities dramatically," Nishi grins as he clenches his fist, his energy flaring, "In order words... the more energy," he grins as he becomes a blur again, "The more raw power!"
Like a streak of red light, Nanami's guard is too slow this time, like a rail gun Nishi launches a drop kick into Nanami, striking him directly in the chest, sending him flying across the rooftops, clattering against building after building, before he comes sliding to a halt.
Nanami slowly grips his hand around his sword, hearing Nishi drop to the ground, both of them now in the backyard of a home, Nanami groaning as he fully stands, checking his watch.
"You got somewhere to be?" Nishi asks as he chuckles, "Am I not entertaining enough?"
Nanami takes a moment, clearing his throat, before his eyes slowly rise to meet Nishi, "If I hadn't concentrated my cursed energy into my chest, I'd have a ruptured heart right now," Nanami says as he wipes the faintest dabble of blood off of his lip.
"Oooo," Nishi says with a drawn out interest, "You anticipated I'd shoot for there or was it just dumb luck?" Nishi asked with a condescending tone.
Nanami motioned towards his tie, instead of adjusting it, pulling it off, "Seeing as you've done the same," Nanami says as he wraps his tie around his fist.
Nishi's eyes widen for a moment, his cursed energy is rising, Nishi thought briefly.
"My cursed technique allows me to divide a target into ten lines and forcibly create a weak spot at the ratio point of seven to three," Nanami says as he finally tightens the tie around his fist, his cursed energy visibly manifesting around him.
Smiling, Nishi tingles with excitement, a technique reveal with a time-based binding vow!
Crouching, Nishi truly begins to look more like a predator, the blur distorting his crouched form, "Yes... Yes... Yes..." Nishi mutters quietly, his eyes drifting towards the ground.
Nanami's brow furrows as he takes a deep breath, poising himself with expert positioning and stance.
I'll need to watch my spacing, his instant acceleration is faster than I can react, but he loses speed over long distances, I'll strike then, Nanami thinks with a careful appraisal.
Nishi's gaze jerks to meet Nanami's, a brief glimpse that reveals more to Nanami than he expected.
He's coming.
Erupting from where he was crouched, Nishi's form darted from surface to surface, pouncing from walls and vacant spaces, akin to a water strider.
I'll have to control it's spread to minimize damage, Nanami thought as he scowled.
Clenching his wrapped fist, Nanami's exhaled sharply as he slammed his hand into the pavement, unlike Nishi's strike, this one produced a gigantic eruption of rubble that shot straight up into the air.
The blur that was Nishi seemed to halt for a moment, merely a distorted grin irking out from him, instead of running or evading however...
The blur raced straight for the heart of the eruption, Nanami at it's center who only just now drew his hand from the pavement, lunging backwards.
Why press me now, the rubble will come crashing down in no time? Nanami thought with a hint of worry, I planned on him running around and being able to catch him at a speed I could react.
With his blade, Nanami cleared a path darting through the raining rubble, hearing the quick footsteps of Nishi close behind, smashing past rubble of his own.
"Terrain alteration! You've even managed to bait me in, you're one smart sorcerer!" Nishi's voice was distorted, but that iconic sound of utter arrogance laced his tone.
Leaping through the last remaining gap, there was only one path to Nanami now, the one he'd cleared, holding his blade at the ready, the last few seconds had hardly passed, the heaviest rubble now beginning to plummet back down.
If those landed on Nishi, he'd be crushed beyond recognition, but he knew that.
Suddenly, the blur shifted, Nanami's eyes following it keenly.
He's lost his maximum speed, escaping that minefield is virtually impossible now, Nanami thought, however, a strange sense of unease filled him.
A bead of sweat dripped from Nanami's forehead as he clenched his blade tightly in his hand, time seeming to slow down for an eternity.
Would he really be so idiotic? Nanami thought as he centered himself, solidifying his stance, I need to be ready, he may have another sudden burst of speed.
As the rubble fell, the blur halted it's movement, for a moment their eyes met, Nanami's filled with unease, but Nishi's?
Utter bliss.
Nishi shot straight up into the center of the falling rubble, landing feet first on a giant chunk of pavement, Nanami's eyes chasing to meet his, a vocal objection coming from Nanami, "That's obscene... He's using the rubble as footing, so he's beyond 2D combat."
"I'm as obscene as they come, you shitty suit!" Nishi shouted as he laughed, leaping from the rubble he was latched to and towards a rooftop, clattering down onto the tiles, cracking several as he slid backwards.
The ground shook with the impact, a violent jarring sensation that rocked the surrounding area, Nanami leaping away as the plume of dust filled the air, racing to meet the sky.
Nanami landed firmly on a small grassy cliff, just a dozen feet away, his eyes scanning the rooftops as they settled on Nishi, a casual posture possessing Nishi's form as the blur vanished from him.
This fight, isn't hardly over, we both have tricks up our sleeve, issue is, Nanami thought as he hesitated.
Looking to Nishi, Nanami wiped his forehead of sweat, shifting his feet and taking a deep breath.
I can't seem to find where his tricks end, Nanami thought with worry, it's as though I'm fighting a sorcerer with decades of experience, it's unbecoming of his age.
Nishi grinned as his teeth flashed for a moment, his hands on his hips as he tauntingly leaned a bit forward, "I wonder what's going on in that suit head of yours?" Nishi said with a chuckle, "What, balancing spreadsheets and filing reports, ya' shitty suit?"
Nanami clenched his blade as he took yet another calming breath.
Let's look at what I've gained, he's down a hand, I have superior positioning, and most importantly he's exhausted far more cursed energy than me, Nanami thought as his eyes narrowed at Nishi.
Nishi picked at his ear as he blew his finger off shortly after, sighing as he stretched, "You've really knocked off a lot of my rust, haven'tcha!" Nishi grinned with a hearty laugh.
Holding his blade up towards Nishi, Nanami clenched his hand tightly around the hilt, "Your spree of violence won't persist beyond this battle."
Nishi's blur shot back into reality as he grinned, "Hope you've already arranged your funeral, shitty suit."
