Chapter 38 - Battle between Muhammad and the monsters

There were more than 100 monsters, while the number of knights and fighters was only 70. Also, the human forces were not united, so how would they defend the city?

When the night became pitch-black and everyone slept, only a few awake knights remained in the city. The Lich was smart; he chose the best time to attack. He moved his magic staff and ordered everyone to attack. The monsters began running toward the city.

Some guards were at the city gate protecting it. One guard felt the ground shaking slightly beneath him and was surprised: "Why is the ground shaking like this?" He called his friend and said: "Why is the earth trembling like this at night?" The guard bent his head down to see, then called his friend again and said: "Look, come here." He called him once and twice, but he didn't respond. When he lifted his head, he found his friend's head hit by an arrow. He felt afraid and screamed: "Attack! Attack!" Then the guard ran toward the city, with many ghouls and giant orcs behind him. Because of their size and running, even the ground was trembling.

All the knights and fighters in the village woke up after the guard's terrified scream. Muhammad was in the tavern. He got up to return to his room but was shocked to see a guard's head cut off by an orc's club in front of him. Muhammad, due to the shocking scene, couldn't understand what just happened. Then a strong ghoul screamed. All the villagers woke up in fear. The knights and fighters gathered against the monsters, and then the battle began. The Lich cast a spell and burned the houses. Everyone in the village was screaming and crying.

Isabelle and Fern woke up from the ghoul's scream and felt scared. Then Fern said: "Will Muhammad be alright? There are monsters outside!" Fern began to cry and hugged his sister, because he was afraid of the monsters.

Muhammad ran toward the hotel to protect Isabelle and Fern, where he found some ghouls trying to attack. Muhammad shouted: "Why are you attacking the village?"

A ghoul replied: "How can you speak our language?"

Muhammad answered: "It doesn't matter. Just tell me why you're attacking the village."

The ghoul replied: "We want to take over this village and kill all the humans because it is the order of our king."

Muhammad asked: "And who is your king?"

The ghoul responded: "Why would I tell you?"

Then he tried to attack Muhammad, but Muhammad dodged his powerful strike, which made a hole in the ground. Muhammad said: "I don't want to fight. Let me enter the hotel and bring out two people, and I don't care what you do with the village."

The ghoul replied: "You can't do that. We'll kill you and those two people."

Muhammad replied: "It seems that whenever I treat everyone with respect, they ignore me. From now on, the sword will speak."

Muhammad rushed toward the ghoul at high speed and cut off his hand. The ghoul screamed: "How can a human be this strong?!"

The ghoul tried to attack Muhammad, but Muhammad predicted his move and cut off his head with one swift strike. Goblins and two more ghouls were present, and they attacked Muhammad. Muhammad rushed toward them at great speed and began killing them while appearing to enjoy it. He said: "Ah, finally a good battle after those hellish training sessions my mother put me through."

Muhammad killed all fifty monsters easily, even though they weren't weak. But Muhammad was extremely fast and strong. He entered the hotel and headed to the room.

Fern and Isabelle were hiding under the blanket, very afraid, waiting for a monster to come and kill them out of sheer fear. As they watched the door, it began to open. Isabelle and Fern screamed: "It's a monster! It came! Help us!"

Then the door fully opened, and Muhammad entered, covered in blood all over his body. Isabelle was shocked when she saw Muhammad soaked in blood. She thought he was injured. She rushed toward him and said: "Where are you hurt? Tell me!" She was very scared for him.

Muhammad replied: "It's not my blood. It's only the monsters' blood."

Isabelle replied: "Did you fight monsters? What if they injured you? Let the knights do the fighting."

Muhammad replied: "Alright, don't worry. I won't fight again."

Muhammad looked at Fern and found him crying. He said to him: "Don't be afraid. I'm here."

Fern said through his tears: "Sorry that you found me scared and crying. I'm a coward and look like girls because I cry. What a coward I am."

Muhammad replied: "Who said that? You are human, and you have a heart that fears, rejoices, and grieves. Crying is a part of us. There's no shame in crying, but the shame is in crying all the time without trying to change yourself."

Muhammad said: "So don't be sad. We all cry, fear, and grieve. Think about how to change yourself and become stronger to protect yourself and your sister, so no one can make you cry again."

Fern replied: "Thank you for your words. You always support us. I promise you, when I grow up, I'll help you and be by your side when you need me."

Muhammad replied: "That's good to hear. It seems my bet on you wasn't a loss. I'm waiting for the day when you'll help me."
