Chapter 43 - 43

Watching the Mammoth, his loyal ship that had accompanied him through countless battles, being destroyed, Jack felt tears well up inside. As he clashed fiercely with Weevil, he knew he'd probably end up crying himself unconscious in a latrine when he got back.

Suddenly, a black shadow descended from the sky — it was Weevil, swinging his massive blade down onto Jack. Blood splattered everywhere as the strike tore through Jack's defenses, even though Jack's ancient zoan durability was supposed to be nearly impenetrable.

And this wasn't the first wound Weevil had inflicted — it was the third!

"I'm going to kill you!" Jack roared furiously. Since he couldn't get his revenge on Bullet for now, he vented all his rage on Weevil. In his full mammoth form, every step he took shook the ground.

Weevil, dumb as a rock and yet insanely powerful, had been underestimated at first. But after half an hour of intense battle, Jack was forced to acknowledge that this fool was no ordinary opponent.

No matter how many heavy blows Jack landed, Weevil would recover frighteningly fast — his regeneration was even more terrifying than that of many Zoan types.

With an earth-shaking boom, Weevil's massive blade crashed down on Jack, just as Jack charged forward again. Jack's ancient mammoth abilities didn't have fancy powers like King's flames — just overwhelming brute strength.

The two collided violently, sending Jack flying back over ten meters, though Weevil also staggered and retreated a similar distance.

"Not even worth five hundred million... but this guy fights like someone with a billion bounty!" Jack cursed inwardly, furious at the Navy for having hidden such a monster.

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the battlefield, Bullet had fused with the wreckage of the Mammoth, forming a massive mech-like creature. In Elior's eyes, it looked just like one of those giant war machines from another world — something like a Transformer.

King, in his Pteranodon form, hovered in the sky, breathing a torrent of black flames down onto the charging mechanical monstrosity. A sea of fire instantly roared to life, engulfing Bullet's combined form.

To King, that monstrosity was just a pile of wood and scrap. His fire wasn't some ordinary blaze — it was the deadly fire of his Lunarian heritage. He was confident it would burn the construct to ashes.

Boom!

But just then, with a muffled roar, Bullet's monstrous mech burst out of the inferno — still ablaze but very much intact. The monster's massive fist, coated not only in fire but in thick armament haki, swung forward.

The size of that fist dwarfed even Queen's obese Brachiosaurus form!

That giant fist crashed straight into King before he could dodge.

"You're not strong enough to defeat me!" Bullet roared.

In the face of the true monster that was Bullet, even King — usually so dominant — looked almost human.

King was blasted through the air like a ragdoll, crashing into a Beasts Pirates' ship, which promptly exploded under the impact.

Elsewhere, the third of the Calamities, Queen, was locked in battle too. Like Jack, Queen's ancient brachiosaurus powers specialized in raw physical strength and recovery rather than special elemental abilities like King's flames.

Facing him was Shiryu. Shiryu unleashed slash after slash, each time leaving wounds across Queen's massive body. Though Queen's defenses were monstrous, the damage was starting to accumulate — and for someone who hadn't been seriously wounded in years, it was infuriating.

Queen knew that if the fight dragged on, he might be the first to fall. After all, Shiryu, once a top warden of Impel Down, had strength on par with an Admiral.

Queen was filled with dread.

"Ghost Slash: One-Blade Asura!"

Suddenly, Shiryu descended from the sky, his cursed blade crackling with a wicked aura as he slashed downward.

Queen met the attack with both fists hardened by Armament Haki.

But the moment their blows connected, Queen felt a cold chill run down his spine — an overwhelming sense of danger he'd rarely experienced.

With a thunderous impact, Shiryu's blade blasted Queen's fists apart.

Queen's face twisted in horror, but it was too late to defend.

The next instant, Shiryu's blade tore through Queen's thick Brachiosaurus hide, sending blood spraying high into the air.

Queen roared in pain, stumbling back over thirty meters before finally stopping. A gaping wound nearly two meters long was carved across his chest, bleeding profusely.

"So even ancient zoans have their limits!" Shiryu sneered, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth. He wasn't unscathed either, but clearly, Queen had taken the worse hit.

This clash between Elior's pirate crew and Kaido's Beasts Pirates had now escalated into an all-out war between their strongest fighters.

Meanwhile, the Tobiroppo were being held off by Crocodile and three other fighters.

Yes — it was a 4v6.

Unlike the battlefield where Bullet dominated, this fight was much more evenly matched. After all, the Tobiroppo were second only to the Calamities in Kaido's crew, with strength comparable to Jack.

Still, Crocodile and his team were holding their own — for now. Prolonged fighting, though, would surely turn against them.

Fortunately, Elior's Ice Knights were busy keeping the rest of Kaido's forces occupied.

As for the main showdown between Elior and Kaido himself…

Kaido had already shifted into his strongest form — his hybrid dragon-human form!
