Chapter 104 - CHAPTER 104: HUNTERS

—Well… Marvel Rivals is still lagging, —Saval scratched his neck while addressing the camera—. Don't know if it's just us, but it's unplayable.

Sariel23: Too bad, was waiting for that Spidey & Hulk combo.

—So was I, —Semiel added through his mic, turning slightly toward Saval—. But we're not ready to break keyboards yet, right?

—Not yet, —Saval laughed—. Change of plans. We're switching to Monster Hunter World. Haven't played in ages.

—And I need practice before the Iceborne update. Promised I wouldn't die more than five times per hunt.

Luzeta99: Real promise or sarcasm?

—Dead serious, —Semiel replied—. New man today.

The screen shifted. Saval was already configuring his loadout, his character armed with a gleaming greatsword. Beside him, Semiel stretched in his chair while selecting his favorite bow.

—Running support, —he said, adjusting his healing gear—. As usual, watching your back.

—And I'll be cracking skulls. Perfect team.

PapádelChiste: Always so coordinated, love watching you two play.

Sariel23: You guys play so well together.

—Thanks, guys, —Saval smiled—. Let's see if we can take down Anjanath without dying in the first ten minutes this time.

The early hunts went smoothly. Laughter erupted when one perfectly timed a dodge roll, or when Saval recklessly charged into an obviously doomed attack.

—Stop diving in like that, —Semiel laughed—. You're not invincible, Savaaaal.

—But with you covering me, I am, —he joked, rolling sideways—. Team strategy.

Yuki_2025: "Team strategy"? Hmm... 👀

Semiel coughed, visibly flustered, while Saval just chuckled lowly, leaving it at that. Inside, the warmth in his chest was undeniable.

No matter how many times we play together, it always feels different. Better. Like this—right here with you—is how things were always meant to be.

—Got him! —Semiel shouted as the monster collapsed—. Nice, nice.

—GG, —Saval added—. And zero carts.

—Well, you were three hits from death like five times.

—Almost dying isn't dying.

They both laughed. Chat exploded with applause and firework emojis.

MonsterDude: You guys clearly love playing together. Should do this more often.

—We will, —Semiel replied, turning to Saval with a soft smile—. Wrapping up?

Saval nodded. They exited the game and returned to the stream ending screen. The background music was calming—something mellow they'd chosen together weeks ago.

—Thanks for watching, as always, —Saval said—. Improvised today, but fun.

—Next time Marvel Rivals will work. Hopefully, —Semiel added—. Rest up, stay safe, and you know…

—Don't forget to eat properly, —they finished in unison, bursting into laughter.

The stream ended. Silence settled gently over the room.

Saval stretched, then flopped onto the bed, still smiling. Semiel followed suit, but before fully lying down, he found Saval's hand and laced their fingers together.

—Good day, —he said.

—Yeah. It was.

They stared at the ceiling for a quiet moment. Hands still linked, unhurried, untroubled.

This is what it feels like to be okay. No fear, no doubts. Just... us.

Semiel turned slightly toward him without letting go.

—Tired?

—Just a little, —Saval closed his eyes briefly—. The good kind of tired.

—Then... let's rest.

—Together.

And just like that, they drifted into the night's quiet, the warmth of each other's hand still pulsing against their skin.
