Chapter 115 - Chapter 115: The Frost Dragon King and the Fire Dragon King

The moment Lin Yun opened his eyes, the entire Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well seemed to lose its color. Aside from the central spring waters still shimmering with red and white light, everything else faded into a monochrome stillness.

Well—almost everything. Lin Yun himself and the Ice Empress remained unaffected. The latter, now on high alert, instantly appeared by his side.

"My Lord, be careful. Something feels off," the Ice Empress warned, her hands brimming with terrifying ice elemental energy, her ultimate skill, Frost Empress' Wrath, ready to unleash at any moment.

Just then, a voice tinged with surprise and amusement echoed through the air.

"To think you actually succeeded. It seems my wife and I underestimated you."

A red and a blue figure materialized—one tall and imposing, the other slender and coldly elegant, both bearing distinct draconic features.

"Uncle Fire! Aunt Frost!" Elder Tian burst out from the folds of space, his face alight with excitement as he stared at the man and woman before him.

Indeed, these two were the Frost and Fire Dragon Kings, who had perished in the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. However, they weren't their true selves—like Elder Yi, they were remnant souls.

Divine remnant souls.

"Tch. Don't call me 'Aunt.' I don't have such a disappointing nephew who can't even become a god," the Frost Dragon King retorted, her cold, noble face twisting into a look of disdain as she eyed Elder Tian like he was trash, her tone dripping with venom.

This seemed to hit a nerve for some, even earning bonus points in certain... niche preferences.

Elder Tian's expression froze instantly, his previously flushed face darkening at visible speed.

The Ice Empress couldn't help but burst into laughter, clutching her stomach while pointing at Elder Tian like he was the court jester.

"Alright, alright. Things probably aren't that simple. Haven't you noticed the laws of the Douluo Star have changed?" The Fire Dragon King shook his head helplessly, pulling the Frost Dragon King into an embrace.

Hearing this, the Frost Dragon King nodded seriously. "True. I can even feel the world's rules suppressing this wisp of my remnant soul. Even if I ignited my divine soul fragments, I couldn't exert power beyond the god level."

"Do you know what's going on?" She turned to Lin Yun, her voice questioning.

In her eyes, Elder Tian, as a junior, was clearly clueless. If they wanted answers, they'd have to ask Lin Yun—a fellow Dragon King-level powerhouse.

The Fire Dragon King also fixed his gaze on Lin Yun.

"Do you remember how you two perished?" Lin Yun shrugged, sidestepping her question with one of his own.

"Of course. Vividly." The Fire Dragon King nodded, his expression briefly flashing with the fury of flames before settling back into calm.

"We were slain by the Dragon God. For some reason, he suddenly descended into madness and began slaughtering indiscriminately across the divine realm. As the nine strongest Dragon Kings at the time, we naturally stood at the forefront, leading the charge against the maddened Dragon God. It was in that war that we fell to his hands."

"What?! You were killed by the Dragon God?!"

Before Lin Yun could respond, Elder Tian blurted out in shock, his face a mask of disbelief.

The truth he'd always believed was that the human gods had rebelled, ambushing and killing the Dragon God before suppressing the path to divinity for beast souls, leaving their race in decline.

But now, it turned out the Frost and Fire Dragon Kings' deaths were the Dragon God's own fault?!

Elder Tian felt his entire worldview collapsing.

"Why would we lie to a junior like you? If you don't believe us, ask the Dragon King beside you. He carries a portion of the Dragon God's power—likely a fragment left after the Dragon God's death, no?" The Frost Dragon King scoffed, her tone icy.

She held no affection for the Dragon God who had killed her, and even Lin Yun, bearing the Dragon God's aura, earned a sliver of her hostility.

Elder Tian turned to Lin Yun, his eyes questioning.

Lin Yun nodded, not denying the Frost Dragon King's words.

The Dragon God's madness has nothing to do with me. If you've got a grudge, take it up with him—I'm not taking the blame for this.

With that thought, the faint guilt he'd felt earlier evaporated, replaced by unshakable confidence.

His expression grew so shameless that the Frost Dragon King gritted her teeth, barely resisting the urge to take a bite out of him.

"Don't look at me like that. That was all the Dragon God's doing. Though I'm a fragment of him, what he did has nothing to do with me," Lin Yun said dismissively.

"After the Dragon God split, I emerged as the Golden Dragon King, inheriting his immense physical power and destructive attributes. The other half took his divine soul power and elemental mastery."

"Put simply, we're both new beings who inherited portions of the Dragon God's bloodline and developed our own consciousnesses. We have little to do with the original Dragon God."

Hearing Lin Yun's origins, the Frost and Fire Dragon Kings nodded thoughtfully.

Come to think of it, the nine Dragon Kings' power had also originated from the Dragon God. Their initial abilities were gifts from him, and only through millennia of cultivation had they reached Dragon King level, attaining god-king strength.

They understood Lin Yun's point perfectly.

But new questions arose.

"What exactly happened back then? Why did the Dragon God go mad? Why have Douluo's laws changed?" The Fire Dragon King couldn't hold back his curiosity. His death had been so unjust, so unexplained.

Without answers, he'd never rest in peace.

"This king also wants to know what that old fool was thinking," the Frost Dragon King huffed, crossing her arms in a way that accentuated her ample "assets," her tone dripping with tsundere pride.

"You're currently in the midst of re-cultivation, aren't you? In your non-peak state, you might need this king's power. Answer my questions, and everything I left behind after death—my strength, my essence—will be yours!"

With that, she glanced at the Golden Chrysanthemum torso bone still floating near Lin Yun and tilted her chin. "That thing. Under the world's rules, part of my power condensed into a similar bone. But what lies within is a fragment of my divine spark, my divine power, and my Dragon King bloodline. It should be of great use to you."

"I have one as well," the Fire Dragon King added.

Their meaning was clear: Tell us the truth of the past, and the divine Dragon King bones formed from our remains are yours.

Divine Dragon King bones. The reward couldn't be more generous.

"Hmm... There's no real need to hide it. I suppose I can tell you." Lin Yun pondered for a moment before speaking.

"This is what happened..."
