Chapter 96 - Final Chapter

Final Chapter

The Five Elders, along with Fingerland, were kneeling, their foreheads nearly touching the floor. A dark shadow engulfed them—thick, oppressive. Two glowing eyes pierced through the darkness, watching them like a hawk ready to strike its prey.

"Imu-sama... it was our fault. We became overconfident," Saturn murmured, his voice trembling. Fear seeped deep into his bones. The trap they had fallen into had been so masterfully laid that they didn't realize it until it was far too late. Even upon returning to Mariejois, they still couldn't grasp the full magnitude of the disaster.

And the worst part... was that Imu-sama had fallen into it too.

The attack on Baltigo had been a display of absolute power. But the island was empty. No one was there. Just silence. Mocking silence.

Now, the World Government's allied nations were demanding answers. They wanted to know why the Government possessed a weapon capable of wiping an entire island off the map. No one believed the excuse that it was "for their protection." That theatrical display of force had only bred more distrust.

What Imu-sama had hoped to achieve—instill fear—had failed.

On the contrary, thousands of letters, petitions, and messages poured in daily from across the world. Questions impossible to ignore:

Who sits on the Empty Throne?

Why is their existence hidden?

And as if that weren't enough, the Marines had officially severed ties with the World Government. A devastating blow.

The Marines were meant to protect the people, not serve as the iron fist of a shadowy oligarchy.

And the moment they broke away, they allied themselves with the Bounty Hunters… and the Revolutionary Army.

It was the worst-case scenario.

The one they had always feared.

And all because they had tried to erase the traces of a slave market.

"Who was it?" asked Imu's androgynous voice—cold, distant... lethal.

"The one responsible was... Monkey D. Kara," Saturn answered without hesitation.

"And who was the incompetent fool that allowed a base to be established, giving them the chance to find and expose her?" Imu asked again, their voice never rising… but making the very air grow heavier.

Saturn began to shake.

"Imu-sama... I..."

He couldn't finish. His body arched in a spasm of indescribable pain. He screamed. A shriek of agony echoed through the chamber as his form convulsed and began to shrink, as though his very essence was being torn apart.

"Imu-sama, please, no!"

But no reply came.

Only his screams shattered the silence, echoing with the sound of death.

Imu's gaze shifted then to Fingerland.

"Did Shamrock find it?"

"I received a call… they said it was located in the Calm Belt. But no further contact has been made, Imu-sama," Fingerland said, sweat soaking his brow.

"Good. If that island is what I suspect... then it doesn't matter if the nations become angry. We'll erase everything that stands in our way," Imu declared, before turning and vanishing into the shadows—like a nightmare dissolving at dawn, yet leaving its threat suspended in the air.

"He was tougher than I thought," Gildarts murmured with a tired smile as he sailed calmly over the sea in a magic-propelled boat. He was wrapping some wounds while watching the horizon.

He had let Akainu take Shanks away. Not out of weakness, but indifference. That pirate had tried to harm his wife… and his daughter. And though he had failed, Gildarts had no time for hollow battles.

At least, he'd gained something valuable.

He reached into his coat and pulled out an Eternal Pose. Engraved at its base was an ancient, powerful, familiar symbol.

The Fairy Tail seal.

"Looks like we can go home," he said with a nostalgic smile, as he increased the boat's magical speed toward the guild.

"You're all pathetic," Kara said with a mocking grin, though her body showed clear signs of battle—scrapes, minor cuts, and dust. Despite the victory, her arrogance remained untouched.

"Shut up. What do we do with the brats?" Zoro grunted, visibly annoyed.

"A ship's on its way, don't worry," Kara replied calmly, watching the wounded children as Wendy tended to them. Her healing magic glowed warmly as she treated the most affected.

Some of them, especially the older ones, had gone mad during the battle. Rab, Chopper's brother, showed signs of withdrawal—whatever they had used to artificially enhance their bodies was wreaking havoc on their minds and souls. Fortunately, with Wendy there, they could keep them stable… at least for now. Their bodies had been completely altered. Recovery would take time, care, and specialized magic.

Just then, a Marine ship appeared on the horizon.

From the deck, Uta and Chopper waved excitedly.

"Looks like they're here," Kara remarked with a half-smile.

"Took them long enough…" Zoro muttered, crossing his arms—though everyone knew he had been the one to get lost and arrive late.

"Hey, Kara! What are you doing here?!" Chopper called out in surprise. When he recognized the others, his face lit up. "Guys! It's so good to see you again!" he exclaimed, running toward them—especially toward Rab, whom he hugged tightly.

Just then, Kara's den-den mushi began to ring. She answered it unhurriedly, glancing at the group as they laughed, reunited and whole again.

But before she could even respond, every single member of Fairy Tail, not just those on the island but all scattered across the Grand Line, felt it at the same time.

A magical pulse swept across the world.

A silent roar.

Like a giant heart beating from another dimension.

They felt it in their bones, in their souls.

Ancient magic. Primal.

Theirs.

From the den-den mushi, Gildarts's unmistakable voice came through:

"Looks like finding the Eternal Pose was pointless...

And here I was, hoping to show off a bit for my daughter..."

Meanwhile, on a forgotten island in the Calm Belt, the magical barrier that had protected it for years from the attacks of the Sea Kings began to dissolve—bit by bit—like time itself was erasing it.

The colossal Sea Kings that lurked in the depths felt the change immediately. One by one, they emerged with hunger and fury, driven by the primal instinct to destroy anything the island might be hiding.

But when they were just meters away…

A black shadow rose from the island.

It had no defined form. Just a dense, dark, ancient presence.

At its arrival, the Sea Kings—even the most enormous among them—froze on the spot, eyes wide with fear. Then they turned and fled into the depths of the ocean, as if they had glimpsed the abyss itself.

And perhaps… they had.

The being walked over the water as if the surface of the world belonged to it.

And for the first time in centuries, the Sea Kings vowed never to return to that region again.

In Earth Land, an island began to appear like a mirage in the middle of the ocean. Several ships patrolling the area witnessed it manifest—almost as if it emerged from another dimension.

Most notable among them was a flying ship, bearing the insignia of a blue pegasus on its sails.

Without hesitation, Blue Pegasus and Fairy Tail rushed toward the island.

Upon landing, they began searching for survivors, hoping to find any sign, any clue...

But what they discovered left them breathless.

The island was divided. One half bathed in the sky of Earth Land… the other beneath a strange firmament, alien and foreign, with constellations that didn't belong to their world.

A veil of magical energy separated both realities.

Among the mages, a spy from the Magic Council watched in silence.

Taking advantage of the distraction, he sent a private message.

One that would change the course of fate.

Far away, in the shadows of the hidden throne, Imu opened their eyes.

They didn't need sight to know.

They had felt it.

Like a cursed ability or forbidden magic, the presence pierced them like a blade of ice. And they understood: the balance between worlds had begun to break.

Without delay, they summoned the Elders.

In the future, that day would be remembered for generations by a single name:

The Day of Change.

It marked the beginning of a war.

Not a mere battle for land or power—

But a fight for the right to exist.

The World Government faced an enemy it could neither understand nor defeat.

Fairy Tail was the spearhead.

But they were not alone.

Other powerful guilds began to appear.

They came not as conquerors, but as dreamers.

To share their world, their magic… their will.

The Magic Council maintained order between the guilds.

And when the possibility of an interdimensional invasion was confirmed, the entire magical army was mobilized.

The Kingdom of Fiore sent all its Holy Knights, and the guilds united with astounding efficiency.

Saint Wizards, Celestial Dragons, Legendary Masters… all responded.

The World Government, already weakened by its split from the Marines, could not withstand the tide.

Meanwhile, the Marines—now allied with Fairy Tail—were welcomed by the people as a new protective force.

The guilds didn't compete with them; they shared their values.

For many countries—especially those allied with or friendly to Kara—the arrival of the guilds was a cause for celebration.

They opened their gates.

Offered land.

And, most importantly: trust.

Kara, Gildarts, Makarov, Laxus...

Fairy Tail was more than a guild.

It was a symbol.

And with that strength, they formed a coalition of worlds.

A magical alliance without precedent.

When the Government attempted a second offensive, sending Cipher Pol... they were crushed.

Not by an army.

But by the Saint Wizards who had been guarding the Fairy Tail island from the start.

And some fools in the Council even wanted to take that island for themselves, unaware that one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Ishgar was a founding member of Fairy Tail.

Warrod Sequen, the Sage of the Forest, chose to live there.

No one dared contradict him.

One day, a black dragon was seen flying over the Red Line.

Soon after, Mariejois was engulfed in flames.

Blood and fire coated the sacred city's foundations.

And when the smoke cleared… the dragon was still there.

Not as an invader.

But as the new sovereign.

Mariejois became its palace.

With the unification of the magical guilds, the New World—dominated for centuries by pirates—began to fall.

It was only a matter of time.

And Kara, daughter of two worlds, walked among them with a single goal:

To cleanse this world… so she could finally rest in her own.

Fiore.

Fairy Tail.

The story is not over.

There are still enemies to face, mysteries to unravel, worlds to explore.

But one thing is certain:

The World Government is no longer at the top.

N/A:

It's been a great journey, but I think it's time to bring this story to a close. I haven't been giving it the time it truly deserves, and honestly, I've run out of ideas to keep it going.

Originally, the story was only going to last until the Marineford War, but I ended up stretching it a bit more with spontaneous ideas that came along the way. Every chapter was improvised, and I truly enjoyed the process. So let's give it a proper ending—something worthy of everything we've built.

Above all, thank you so much for following this story.

At first, it was just a way to clear my mind while working on other projects—a silly story full of nonsense and random ideas.

But over time, I found myself wanting to make it something deeper, more meaningful… not just comedy.

At one point, I even thought about rebooting it to make it more complete. But when I saw what it had become, I realized the comedy was its essence—and I loved that.

Sure, it had its flaws, but it was an incredible journey.

So, instead of letting it fade into oblivion, I'd rather give it a proper farewell.

And who knows… maybe it'll be the beginning of a new story yet to be written.
