Chapter 331: Seal Release
"You—who are you?"
Just then, a sudden shout came from nearby.
It turned out that one of the patrolling guards had heard a commotion in this area and rushed over quickly.
"Oh no, we've stayed here too long. It's already patrol time!"
Tomoyo gently covered her mouth, while Sakura's face was filled with panic.
"What should we do? If we get caught and Dad or my brother finds out, we'll be in big trouble!"
She had secretly snuck out by climbing through the window, and even bumped into Yukito on her way down.
"Confuse the senses!"
Seeing the situation, George flashed forward, appearing directly in front of the patrolling guard. With a wave of his hand, he cast a Confusion Charm, rendering the guard stunned and dazed on the spot.
Now he could already cast all the spells from the Harry Potter world without a wand, though the effects were not as strong as when using one.
However, having become a Dragon Slayer Mage, his body had gained the traits of a dragon, essentially making him a humanoid magical creature. So the results of casting magic without a wand weren't much worse.
In fact, he no longer had to worry about not having a wand in new worlds.
All he needed to do was pull out a strand of his hair, and then use the power of the Wood Dragon to condense a magic-infused wooden stick, creating a wand with pretty good effects.
But he didn't see much point in doing that anymore.
Against weak enemies, his current level of wandless casting was more than sufficient.
If he encountered truly powerful enemies, he would instead use stronger and more destructive magic from other worlds, or superpowers, or even directly transform into a dragon to resolve the situation.
"Alright, don't worry about those people. You two focus on figuring out how to capture that Clow Card."
"Ancestor, leave it to me!"
Xiaolang took the lead and charged into the art museum's exhibition hall.
"Sakura, don't lose to that little brat!"
Kero shouted, grabbing Sakura and Tomoyo as they all rushed into the museum hall.
However, within less than a minute, they were all teleported out by the "Silent" Card due to the sounds they had made.
And there was now an additional child wearing a hat among them.
It turned out the Silent Card was attached to a famous painting in the museum. That painting had been drawn by a father for his child before he passed away—the child in the hat was that very child.
She wanted to drive away the Silent Card and restore the painting to its original state.
"Let's try again. This time, let's make sure we don't make any sound."
Sakura and Tomoyo, bringing Kero and that child, tiptoed back into the exhibition hall, with Xiaolang following closely behind using ritual steps.
George, meanwhile, simply stood outside, smiling as he watched.
See? When children work together on a task, relationships that weren't so harmonious can quickly change for the better.
After three consecutive failed attempts, the four children and one beast had to stop and start discussing.
The issue now was, even if they managed to approach the Silent Card without making any sound, they couldn't seal it—because casting spells required chanting, and chanting would produce sound, which would cause them to be ejected again.
"Come on now, it's still early. No need to rush. Let's eat something and think it through slowly."
To help improve the kids' relationships, George waved his hand and conjured a blanket on the ground, followed by a variety of snacks and desserts.
According to Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration, food couldn't be created out of nothing. Even magical households that specialized in food creation needed basic ingredients.
But with George's current level, he could already transfigure air into anything he desired—including all kinds of food.
However, once the food was eaten, it would soon turn back into air.
The upside was, they got to taste delicious food without gaining any weight no matter how much they ate. The downside was, when one actually needed food to fill their stomach, it was useless—no matter how much they ate, they'd still starve.
Of course, if he really wanted to feed them, there were other ways. He could use the magic he recently learned from the Elves of Middle-earth to grow edible fruits magically.
"Wow! Cheesecake, dorayaki, tricolored dumplings, and cream pudding!"
Kero, seeing all the delicious food on the ground, immediately flapped his wings and darted over, grabbing a slice of cake and chomping down.
"That brat is annoying, but you, old man, are a good guy."
"Thank you, Grandpa!"
Sakura, Tomoyo, and the hat-wearing child were initially stunned to see George conjure a blanket and food out of nowhere. Then they all bowed politely to him before sitting down.
Xiaolang, however, looked puzzled.
"Ancestor, does our Li family have this kind of magic?"
"These are minor arts. You'll learn them once you attain enlightenment."
George casually replied.
Xiaolang immediately declared with determination, "So enlightenment is this amazing! I want to attain enlightenment too!"
Back at the mourning hall, he had seen the ancestor summon thunderclouds that covered the sky. During the day, he had watched the ancestor regrow someone's hair and even make kitchen utensils cook food on their own.
And just now, he conjured blankets and food out of thin air—it was just like the stories of immortals.
Having grown up steeped in Daoist magic, Xiaolang knew well that the Li family's magic was mainly used to subdue demons and evil spirits, but couldn't do things like this.
Now he finally understood—these were powers granted by enlightenment.
"Li Xiaolang, why do you call Grandpa 'Ancestor'? What does 'Ancestor' mean?"
At this moment, Sakura curiously asked.
Though Xiaolang still felt hostile toward this ordinary girl chosen by the sealed beast, he still lifted his chin and explained.
"'Ancestor' means he's my mom's grandfather's elder brother. He's 98 years old. You guys shouldn't call him Grandpa, or that would make you a generation above me."
"98 years old?!"
Sakura and Tomoyo both gasped. They had never met anyone that old before. And this old man didn't look anywhere near 98.
When he dashed toward that patrolling guard just now, they could barely see him with the naked eye.
"No need for all that. Just call me Grandpa, even though I'm Xiaolang's Ancestor. It's easier that way."
George waved his hand with a smile.
The term "Ancestor" was fine within the family, but sounded too strange when used outside.
"Xiaolang, from now on, just call me Grandpa too when we're outside. It'll be more natural."
"Ancestor, that doesn't feel right. If Mother finds out..."
Xiaolang looked hesitant. If he called him Grandpa, then he'd be the same generation as his mom.
"Aha! I've figured out how to capture that Clow Card!"
Just then, Sakura seemed to have suddenly had a revelation. She immediately stood up, pulled out her bird-head staff that had reverted into a key, and began to chant:
"O key that hides the powers of darkness, reveal your true nature before me. By the covenant, Sakura commands you—Release the Seal!"
