"Why?"
Lunara's hand, which had been tightly clasping Eryx's, suddenly stopped mid-step.
Eryx turned to her. He tried to smile, but his eyes gave him away.
After spending the whole day talking heart to heart, they'd agreed to take a walk in the park, to breathe, to exist quietly together. The late afternoon breeze danced through the trees, carrying the sounds of children laughing in the distance.
"I just need some more time to face him," Eryx finally said, his gaze gentle on Lunara. "And I think… he needs more time too. To recover from all of this."
Lunara didn't respond right away. Instead, she stepped in front of him, eyes searching for him.
"Do you want to move out?"
Eryx blinked. "Huh?"
He hadn't expected the question.
"I mean…" She hesitated. "If it's too heavy, being in the same place. Maybe a new space might help you breathe better. Help both of us, even."
Eryx stared at her, unsure whether to be touched or ashamed.
