Chapter 159 - Chapter 159

Uchiha Shin exhaled sharply, barely suppressing his irritation.

"You're really stubborn..."

His crimson Sharingan gleamed, scrutinizing the woman before him. Miroku, the enigmatic shrine maiden of the Land of Demons, remained unfazed. She sat with an air of eerie calmness, her lavender eyes reflecting her unshakable conviction.

Shin could already guess what she was thinking. She had a goal to fulfill—giving birth to a child—before turning her full attention to the looming threat of the demonic horde.

No wonder the legends never mentioned sealing the demons immediately. Miroku had waited, given birth, and only then taken action.

With a sigh, Shin ran a hand through his raven-black hair before speaking plainly:

"First of all, these demons don't need your power. I am more than enough to handle them. Secondly, stop talking about 'continuing life'—there are other people here."

The guards and shrine attendants nearby shifted uncomfortably, exchanging bewildered glances. Their expressions screamed confusion, and Shin suddenly felt ridiculous.

Miroku, however, seemed genuinely surprised. She hadn't expected him to claim he could destroy the demons himself.

"This is proof."

Shin raised a single finger and lightly tapped Miroku's forehead. A surge of chakra coursed through her, and immediately, an intricate pattern—the Sage's Curse Seal—materialized on her flat stomach.

The seal wasn't just functional; its very design reflected her wish. It symbolized hope for new life.

After embedding the curse mark, Shin wordlessly reached out, slicing off a strand of her silver hair.

Miroku's amethyst eyes widened as he clutched the delicate strand in his palm.

Bang.

It disintegrated into fine ash.

The shrine maiden stiffened.

Miroku was unlike ordinary humans. Like the demon lord Moryo, she was forged from Yin-Yang Release—a being immune to conventional ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu, and even most sealing techniques.

Yet, Shin had just erased a part of her as if it were nothing.

This meant one thing—Shin possessed the ability to kill her.

"You and Moryo are constructs of Yin-Yang Release," Shin stated, his voice cool and unwavering. "As for my mastery over it… it's beyond explanation. But annihilating you? That's easy."

A flicker of admiration glimmered in Miroku's gaze. Rather than fear, she smiled.

"I see," she murmured. "Lord Uchiha Shin, please allow me to entertain you first. Let us move to the inner chambers to discuss dealing with the demons."

Shin smirked. "Good. I prefer discussing things in private."

He had come here with a mission in mind, but Miroku's relentless provocations were testing his patience. Even if he couldn't devour this meal entirely just yet, he could at least get a taste.

As if reading his thoughts, Miroku dismissed the guards and attendants with a single wave of her hand.

As the High Priestess of the Land of Demons, she had certain duties. Entertaining an esteemed guest was one of them.

However, her idea of "hospitality" left Shin speechless.

"It's not about combining our power. It's about actually creating life."

Miroku, radiant in her shrine maiden robes, sat cross-legged before him, hands raised as she channeled the power of Yang Release.

Shin's eye twitched. He couldn't hold it in anymore.

"…You seriously don't understand how reproduction works?"

Miroku tilted her head, her expression unreadable. "Am I mistaken?"

"…."

She had the audacity to sound so genuinely curious that Shin actually felt a pang of guilt.

No, she was still innocent—holy, even.

But the path had already been taken.

"Ahem," Shin coughed into his hand. "Then let me educate you."

Miroku's expression became solemn, like a student eager to learn from her master. "Please, guide me, Lord Uchiha Shin."

Her sincerity was almost criminal.

At this point, Shin had long abandoned thoughts of discussing demons.

---

Elsewhere, within the darkness of a ruined temple, a monstrous entity stirred.

"That man is terrifying," Moryo rasped, its voice layered with countless souls whispering in unison. "He is the god of this era… the ruler of the Uchiha… the Emperor of Fire."

Shrouded in malevolent chakra, the demon lord felt something it had not felt in centuries—fear.

Moryo had sought to merge with Miroku, to attain a perfect form. But now, that was no longer an option. If he faced Shin head-on, he would be erased from existence.

A new plan was necessary.

"My army of the dead must rise," Moryo muttered, its countless spectral voices weaving a chant of death. "To harvest more power, to spread fear…!"

A lone figure knelt before the demon. Once a man, now a puppet—a vessel filled with Moryo's will. The soul of Ryusei had been forcefully fused into a corpse, twisted and reshaped into a new being.

"Ryusei," Moryo commanded. "Lead my undead horde. Plunder the lands. I must grow stronger before I face him."

Ryusei, devoid of independent thought, nodded and vanished into the shadows.

Soon, across various nations, eerie wails echoed as undead legions swarmed through unsuspecting villages.

---

Meanwhile, back in the sacred temple of the shrine maiden, Uchiha Shin lay sprawled out, staring at the ceiling.

Miroku nestled beside him, her snowy hair cascading over his chest, her fingers absentmindedly tracing the intricate Uchiha crest on his skin.

It had been days since they had begun their… "lessons."

Miroku had transformed.

The once-naïve shrine maiden was now a vision of ethereal beauty, wrapped in a delicate balance of purity and temptation. Before others, she remained the holy priestess of the Land of Demons. But behind closed doors, she belonged to him.

Her shrine maiden robes now draped loosely over her delicate frame, her slender legs clad in silky black stockings, accentuating her elegance.

Shin exhaled.

He had gotten so absorbed in his 'teachings' that he had momentarily forgotten about Moryo.

Miroku, resting against him, finally broke the silence.

"Lord Shin," she murmured, her voice like a soothing melody. "Moryo's forces have begun their assault. They're harvesting souls to strengthen themselves."

Shin's eyes darkened as his thoughts refocused.

"…Moryo," he muttered, rubbing his temples. "Tch. I got too distracted."

Miroku chuckled softly, running a hand through his hair. "It is not your fault. I am a formidable opponent, after all."

Shin shot her a flat look. "That's not a compliment."

She smiled innocently, pressing a delicate kiss to his collarbone.

Shin sighed, stretching his arms. "Alright, time to handle this mess."

He had absorbed enough Yang Release from Miroku over the past few days to strengthen his own Sage abilities. That alone would make the coming battle much easier.

Rising from the shrine maiden's bed, Uchiha Shin rolled his shoulders, his Sharingan gleaming.

"Let's see if Moryo can handle a real god."
