That midday, Chu Xici invited Shen Yufeng and An Xiaoyu to stay for lunch at home.
Chu Xici's mother, Lin Yuenong, had gone for a touring performance and wasn't expected back until next month, whereas his father was in the military and often away from home, which meant that, typically, only Chu Xici and Yege were at home.
Now that Shen Yufeng and An Xiaoyu had come over, the home felt quite a bit livelier.
At the dining table, Yege became somewhat silent, prompting a smile from Shen Yufeng after he noticed.
"Hey, why has little Yege become so solemn?"
Yege was actually very cute as a child, and Shen Yufeng had seen her back then; chubby and rosy-cheeked, she was like a little rice dumpling.
But as a child, Yege was always clingy with Chu Xici. As long as Chu Xici held her, it was absolutely impossible for anyone to coax her away from his embrace, unless she tired herself out from playing in his arms and was willing to come down.
