Delphine's gaze shifted slightly, not expecting Jocelyn Yeager to say such words upon coming here.
"How did you know this is the life I dream of?" Her dream life was very peaceful, with a big house, flowers planted in the yard, facing the sea. She could go fishing in the ocean, plant vegetables and raise ducks nearby, living a simple, self-sufficient life, just like when she lived with her grandmother during childhood.
She had mistakenly entered this place of extravagance, yet all her heart desired was such a life.
"Because that's also what I dream of. Neither of us belongs in the Southern Seas. You don't covet power or wealth, and I'm weary of scheming and manoeuvring. Delphine, even if we can't be lovers, we could still be good friends, good neighbors, better than ending up lonely till old age." Jocelyn's gentle face flashed a hint of melancholy.
