Isolde's POV
I woke before dawn with a scream stuck in my throat. The air felt wrong—heavy with magic that didn't fit. I sat up from my sleeping spot at the back of the cave, my fingers buzzing with warning magic.
Something was coming. Something bad.
I looked around at our broken group. Zeke lay near death, his chest barely rising. Caius sat in silent guard by the cave opening, his vampire eyes gleaming in the darkness. Ronan was missing—probably checking the perimeter again. And Sienna...
My heart stopped. Sienna's resting spot was empty, blood staining the ground where she should be.
"Caius," I whispered quickly. "Where's Sienna?"
The vampire prince turned, alarm flashing across his normally calm face. "She was sleeping just—"
A scream cut through the night, coming from outside the cave. We both moved at once, Caius with his supernatural speed and me with my witch's sense.
