"Boss, we're here again!"
Hiruzen Sarutobi stood outside the shop with a smile and greeted Haruto.
Behind him, the two elders, Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, followed closely.
"Oh, it's Lord Hokage. Welcome, welcome!" Haruto opened the shop door and greeted them warmly.
"Are you here to smash eggs?" Haruto asked with a standard business smile.
"We..." Koharu began, but Hiruzen waved her off.
"Yes, give us nine eggs to start. Here's twenty thousand ryo. Keep the change."
Hiruzen ignored Koharu's interruption and handed over a thick stack of bills.
Koharu, remembering what Hiruzen told her before leaving the Hokage Building, forced herself to remain silent, though her expression grew dark.
Homura, however, curiously studied Haruto's golden egg shop, paying no mind to the tension.
"The boss is so generous!"
Haruto cheerfully took the money and handed over nine golden eggs.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The eggs cracked open one after another, and light balls emerged from within.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, as expected of the Hokage. What incredible luck!"
Haruto was visibly surprised by the results.
"Oh? Did I get something good this time?" Hiruzen asked with a smile.
Homura leaned in curiously to take a look.
"While some items are average, this one alone makes it all worth it!" Haruto exclaimed, taking out a lotus-shaped item.
"Is that... a lotus?" Hiruzen asked, puzzled.
"Looks like one," Homura added, adjusting his glasses.
"..."
Haruto stared at them blankly.
Ahem. Perhaps realizing how strange their comments sounded, Hiruzen cleared his throat.
"Since the boss says it's special, let's hear the explanation!"
"Right, right," Homura nodded quickly.
Haruto tilted the lotus to reveal small holes embedded around its base.
"There are seeds in each of these holes. When planted, they'll give you a surprising result."
"Oh?" Hiruzen stroked his beard. "That magical?"
"Inject a bit of chakra and water them daily. In about two months, they'll be ready. You'll see for yourself then."
Haruto deliberately withheld details, wanting to see their expressions when they encountered the gourd spirits later.
Hiruzen didn't question him. He trusted Haruto's judgment more than anyone else.
Meanwhile, the remaining golden eggs yielded items for the two elders.
Unfortunately, neither Homura nor Koharu had much luck. They only received a few potions, which were of little use to high-level advisors.
To Haruto's disbelief, Koharu actually drew a portable speaker—the kind used for public square dancing.
As soon as it activated, loud music burst through the shop.
"You are the most beautiful cloud in my sky, let me keep you close to my heart..."
Even Haruto began bobbing his head and singing along.
"Singing joyfully... the most dazzling ethnic style..."
Cough! After a while, Hiruzen came to his senses and cleared his throat, trying to restore order.
Koharu quickly turned off the speaker, her face red with embarrassment. She threw a glare at Haruto.
Homura, on the other hand, seemed very intrigued and whispered to Koharu to let him borrow the speaker for a couple of days.
"Alright, time for the real reason we're here," Hiruzen said with a serious tone.
Instantly, the elders straightened up, regaining their usual solemnity.
"Oh? So Hokage-sama had another motive?" Haruto asked with mock surprise.
"Hmph, of course!" Koharu snapped. "We're here to discuss important matters!"
"Haha..." Haruto's smile turned cold. This woman again. She was only a council member, yet acted as if she ruled the village.
He let out a low breath—and suddenly unleashed an overwhelming wave of chakra directly toward Koharu.
"Agh!" Koharu, unprepared and long removed from actual combat, collapsed under the pressure.
"Mind your tone," Haruto said coldly. "You're the one here asking for help. Speak with the proper attitude."
Sarutobi and Homura tried to step in, but were immediately frozen by Haruto's aura. They could barely move a muscle.
What terrifying chakra! Sarutobi was stunned. He hadn't felt this kind of suffocating pressure—not even from Tobirama.
Homura's thoughts mirrored his.
But instead of being fearful, both men felt reassured.
This kind of power was exactly what they needed on their side.
They exchanged a glance, silently reaffirming their judgment: Haruto was definitely worth everything they were planning.
