"What do you need my help with?" Lucian asked, his voice ragged as he lay flat on the bed, his bare chest rising and falling in uneven breaths.
He shut his eyes, gripping onto the last sliver of his self-control as her voice washed over him, wrapping around him like silk. The mere sound of her just outside his door was enough to paint the most vivid image of her in his mind. And still… still, he continued the slow, torturous strokes over himself, fighting the beast clawing beneath his skin.
"It's better you open the door so we can talk about it," Serena said, blurting the first thing that came to her mind.
In truth, she had no idea how to explain what was happening to her or how to tell him what she wanted. The heat simmering in her blood, the way her body trembled, it wasn't something words could fix. But still, she tried. Tried to mask her intentions behind a paper-thin veil of conversation.
