Chapter 9 - Chapter 09

 The Calm Before the Storm

The emergency meeting was held in the grand boardroom of Roy Industries. The atmosphere was tense as executives and department heads filed in, their faces etched with concern. Billy sat at the head of the table, his expression calm but resolute. Rin stood by his side, her presence commanding and unyielding.

As the room settled, Billy cleared his throat and began.

Billy Roy: "Thank you all for coming on such short notice. As you may have already heard, we're facing a significant challenge. Our suppliers have backed out of their contracts, and we have reason to believe that Smith Enterprises is behind this."

A murmur of unease rippled through the room. One of the senior managers, a man named Victor, raised his hand.

Victor: "Sir, if I may—what's our plan of action? Without our suppliers, we can't maintain production. This could cripple us."

Billy nodded, his gaze steady. "You're right, Victor. This is a serious threat. But we're not defenseless. We've already begun reaching out to alternative suppliers, and we're exploring every possible avenue to keep our operations running. In the meantime, I need each of you to review your departments and identify any vulnerabilities. We can't afford any more surprises."

Rin stepped forward, her voice cutting through the tension like a blade.

Rin Roy: "This isn't just about suppliers. Smith Enterprises is targeting us on multiple fronts. They're trying to destabilize us, to make us doubt ourselves. But we're Roys. We don't falter. We don't break. We fight back."

Her words seemed to galvanize the room. The executives exchanged determined glances, their resolve hardening.

Billy: "We'll get through this. But it's going to take all of us working together. Stay vigilant, and report anything unusual immediately. Dismissed."

As the room emptied, Billy and Rin remained behind. Billy leaned against the table, his shoulders sagging slightly under the weight of the responsibility.

Billy: "Do you think we can pull this off?"

Rin placed a hand on his shoulder, her touch firm and reassuring.

Rin Roy: "We don't have a choice. We have to. For the company, for our family."

Billy nodded, drawing strength from her words. "You're right. We'll find a way."

Meanwhile, in a dimly lit office at Smith Enterprises, Ron and William sat across from each other, their faces illuminated by the glow of a computer screen. On the screen was a detailed map of Roy Industries' supply chain, with several key nodes highlighted in red.

William Smith: "You've done well, Ron. Cutting off their suppliers was a masterstroke. But we can't stop there. We need to keep the pressure on."

Ron smirked, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "Don't worry. This is just the beginning. I know every inch of Roy Industries—their strengths, their weaknesses, their secrets. We'll hit them where it hurts the most."

William leaned back in his chair, a sly smile spreading across his face. "I like the way you think. But remember, this isn't just about revenge. This is about power. When Roy Industries falls, we'll be the ones to rise."

Ron's expression darkened for a moment, but he quickly masked it with a nod. "Of course. Power is what matters."

As the two men continued to plot, a sense of foreboding hung in the air. The storm was coming, and neither side was prepared for the devastation it would bring.

The First Blow

The days that followed were a blur of activity for Billy and Rin. They worked tirelessly to secure new suppliers, shore up their defenses, and prepare for the next move. But despite their efforts, the cracks in Roy Industries' foundation continued to widen.

It started with a leaked internal memo—a document detailing the company's financial struggles and the steps being taken to address them. The memo was quickly picked up by the media, and within hours, Roy Industries was the subject of headlines across the country.

"Roy Industries in Crisis: Can the Jewelry Giant Survive?"

"Internal Memo Reveals Financial Turmoil at Roy Industries"

Billy stared at the headlines on his computer screen, his stomach churning. He knew this was no accident. Someone had leaked the memo deliberately, and he had a pretty good idea who.

Billy: "Ron."

Rin, who had been pacing the room, stopped and turned to him. "What?"

Billy: "who leaked this. He's trying to undermine us, to make us look weak."

Rin's eyes narrowed, her expression hardening. "That little—"

Before she could finish, the door burst open, and Klaus rushed in, his face pale.

Klaus: "Sir, Madam—we've got another problem. Our stock price is plummeting. Investors are pulling out, and our credit rating has been downgraded."

Billy's heart sank. This was worse than he had feared. The leaked memo had triggered a chain reaction, and now the company was teetering on the edge of collapse.

Billy: "We need to act fast. Call a press conference. We need to reassure the public, our investors, everyone that we're still strong, that we're still in control."

Rin nodded, her mind already racing. "I'll handle the press conference. You focus on stabilizing the company. We need to show that we're not just surviving—we're thriving."

Billy took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay calm. "Alright. Let's do this."

The press conference was held later that day in the grand hall of Roy Industries' headquarters. The room was packed with reporters, their cameras flashing as Rin stepped up to the podium. She looked every inch the formidable leader, her presence commanding and unyielding.

Rin Roy: "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for being here today. I know there have been concerns about the state of Roy Industries, and I want to address those concerns directly."

She paused, her gaze sweeping across the room.

Rin Roy: "Yes, we are facing challenges. But challenges are nothing new to us. Roy Industries has weathered storms before, and we will weather this one too. We are taking decisive action to address the issues at hand, and we are confident that we will emerge stronger than ever."

As she spoke, Billy watched from the sidelines, his heart pounding. He knew that Rin's words were just the first step. They needed to back them up with action, and fast.

But even as the press conference continued, Billy couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning. Ron and William were out there, plotting their next move. And Billy knew that the real battle was yet to come.

The next morning, chaos erupted at Roy Industries' main production facility. Machines malfunctioned, shipments were delayed, and workers were left idle as the production line ground to a halt. Billy arrived at the facility to find managers scrambling to contain the damage.

Billy: "What the hell is going on here?"

One of the floor managers, a nervous man named Harris, rushed over. "Sir, we're not sure. The machines just stopped working, and we can't figure out why. We've called in the technicians, but they're saying it could take hours to fix."

Billy's jaw tightened. "Hours? We don't have hours. We're already behind schedule because of the supplier issues. This is a disaster."

As Billy surveyed the scene, his phone buzzed. It was Rin.

Rin Roy: "Billy, we've got another problem. The media's picked up on the production delays. They're calling it a sign of Roy Industries' collapse."

Billy cursed under his breath. "This isn't a coincidence. Someone's orchestrating this."

Rin's voice was cold and steady. "Find out who. And do it fast. We can't afford any more setbacks."

Billy hung up and turned to Harris. "I want a full report on what happened here. And I want to know who was on the floor last night. Someone's responsible for this, and I'm going to find out who."

Harris nodded, but there was a flicker of unease in his eyes. Billy noticed it but said nothing. He had a feeling the answers he was looking for were closer than he thought.

Later that evening, Billy sat in his office, reviewing the security footage from the production facility. His eyes narrowed as he spotted Victor entering the control room late at night, long after the shift had ended. The timestamp showed 2:17 AM—hours before the machines malfunctioned.

Billy's heart raced as he rewound the footage, watching Victor's every move. He pulled out his phone and dialed Rin's number.

Billy: "I found our mole. It's Victor."

Rin's voice was icy. "Victor? Are you sure?"

Billy: "Positive. He was in the control room last night, right before the machines went down. He's working with Ron."

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line. Then Rin spoke, her tone deadly calm.

Rin Roy: "Bring him in. But be careful. If he's working with William, he's dangerous."

Billy nodded, his resolve hardening. "I'll handle it."

The next morning, Billy confronted Victor in his office. The senior manager looked nervous, his eyes darting around the room as Billy closed the door behind him.

Billy: "We need to talk, Victor."

Victor forced a smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Of course, sir. What's this about?"

Billy leaned against the desk, his gaze piercing. "I know what you did. I saw the footage. You sabotaged the production line."

Victor's face paled, but he quickly recovered, his expression shifting to one of indignation. "That's ridiculous! I would never—"

Billy cut him off, his voice sharp. "Save it, Victor. I've got proof. Now, you're going to tell me everything. Who else is working with William? What's their next move?"

Victor hesitated, his eyes flickering with fear. But then, to Billy's surprise, he smirked.

Victor: "You're too late, Billy. Ron's already won. By the time you figure out what's really going on, Roy Industries will be nothing but a memory."

Billy's fists clenched, but before he could respond, Victor pulled out a small device from his pocket and pressed a button. The lights in the office flickered, and the computer screens went dark.

Victor: "Good luck, Billy. You're going to need it."

With that, Victor bolted from the room, leaving Billy staring after him in stunned silence. The game had just escalated, and Billy realized with a sinking feeling that he was running out of time.

Billy's thoughts raced as he stared at his phone, the call to Ron going unanswered. You can't do this, Ron. You can't join the enemy. His jaw tightened, and he clenched his fists, frustration boiling over. With a quick, sharp gesture, he tried calling Ron again, but the phone was switched off.

Panic surged through him. Without wasting another second, Billy grabbed his keys and rushed out of the office, his mind a whirlwind of anger and desperation. He sped through the city, his car screeching to a halt in front of the Roy mansion. He stormed inside, calling out for Ron, but the house was eerily silent.

Billy searched every room, his voice growing louder with each unanswered call. "Ron! Where are you?" But Ron was gone. His room was empty, his belongings stripped away, as if he had vanished into thin air.

Billy stood in the middle of the hallway, his chest heaving, his mind reeling. He's really gone. He's really chosen their side. The weight of betrayal settled heavily on his shoulders, but beneath the anger, a flicker of determination burned.

If this is war, Ron, then so be it. But don't think for a second that I'll let you destroy everything we've built.

Billy turned on his heel and strode out of the mansion, his resolve hardening with every step. The battle had just begun, and he wasn't about to let Ron—or anyone else—tear his family apart
