"Life, Destruction, Dragon God…"
Li Si sat in deep thought. Could he truly bear the weight of so much power alone? Was Lin Fan overestimating him?
And what about that ethereal figure—was that really the Dragon God? Three million years ago, the Dragon God was supposed to have perished, yet here it was, demanding that its position be returned in 30,000 years.
"Hiss…"
Li Si winced as realization hit. He had casually mentioned to Gu Yuena before that the Dragon God might return in 30,000 years. Who would have thought it would actually happen?
What now?
Well, it wasn't exactly his problem yet.
Thinking this, Li Si relaxed. But something about the Dragon God's first words lingered in his mind.
"I never thought I'd live to see your arrival."
Was the Dragon God talking to him specifically, or to someone else?
They didn't even know each other, so why would it say that?
Weird.
Meanwhile, Gu Yuena was not so calm.
"You… why do you have Father God's aura?"
She frowned, looking at Li Si with a mix of confusion and astonishment. He had disappeared briefly, only to return radiating the unmistakable presence of the Dragon God.
Li Si didn't hide the truth. "I just received the Dragon God's legacy."
"Father God's legacy?"
Gu Yuena's expression grew even more complicated. The Dragon God choosing to pass down its legacy to Li Si instead of her or the Golden Dragon King made little sense.
From a bloodline perspective, they were far more suited for the inheritance than Li Si.
It wasn't jealousy—she was happy for Li Si, her husband—but it defied all logic.
"The Dragon God also mentioned that it would return in 30,000 years and asked me to give the position back when it does."
Li Si's voice was tinged with confusion. If the Dragon God wanted its position back, why give it to him in the first place?
Gu Yuena: "…"
She didn't understand either. But if Father God did this, it must have a purpose.
Before, she had doubted Li Si's earlier claim that the Dragon God would return. After all, in her memory, the Dragon God had perished.
But now, with the inheritance in Li Si's possession, it seemed his words had been correct. The Dragon God wasn't truly gone.
"What about the Life and Destruction auras on you?"
Li Si froze.
He couldn't hide anything from Gu Yuena. Her senses were far too keen, and the Life and Destruction auras were painfully obvious to her.
"I also received the legacies of the Gods of Life and Destruction. But I didn't meet them personally."
Gu Yuena nodded. She believed him. Considering the gods' usual hostility toward soul beasts and dragon-kind, it was unlikely they would choose someone with Li Si's bloodline as their inheritor.
"You've inherited so many powers at once. Are you sure your body can handle it?"
Gu Yuena's voice was filled with concern. Even someone as powerful as the Dragon God had been consumed by its own overwhelming power. Li Si, who was still relatively weak, would surely struggle even more.
Li Si shook his head. Truthfully, he didn't know.
If these were ordinary god positions, his twin martial souls could easily bear the burden of the associated rules and domains.
But these weren't ordinary god positions!
The Dragon God's legacy, combined with those of two Supreme Gods…
Wait a second.
Three legacies—and not even one Nine Trials?
Li Si's expression turned blank. He was utterly dumbfounded.
Three full inheritances, and not a single god trial to accompany them?
All he had gained was the inheritance itself—nothing else.
How was he supposed to rapidly increase his power now?
"I'm not sure, but there's always a way when the time comes…"
"What nonsense are you spouting?"
Gu Yuena huffed angrily.
"For now, forget about the Life and Destruction legacies. Focus solely on Father God's inheritance. I don't want you following in his footsteps."
Her voice softened toward the end, tinged with worry.
The Dragon God hadn't been able to withstand the combined power of multiple domains, so how could Li Si fare any better? Returning the position in 30,000 years might be his only path to freedom.
That was Gu Yuena's perspective, but it wasn't how Li Si saw things.
Looking at her worried expression, Li Si hesitated. He wanted to argue but held his tongue.
Couldn't he achieve godhood without these powers?
He didn't believe it.
But now wasn't the time for reckless defiance. He had a wife to think about.
"Alright, I'll listen to you."
He gently ruffled Gu Yuena's hair, his tone soft.
"You know, Father God once…"
"I know. I'll follow your lead."
He interrupted before she could finish, nodding resolutely.
The Power of Creation was too tempting to pass up. As for the Dragon God's legacy…
"Dear, don't you think it's getting late?"
Gu Yuena froze, her cheeks flushing as she understood his implication.
She lowered her head, avoiding Li Si's burning gaze. "Your call."
Time passed.
After traveling for about half a month, the trio arrived at the border between the Heaven Dou Empire and the Star Luo Empire.
To Li Si's chagrin, the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Elite Tournament Finals were being held at a site on this very border.
How ironic. Despite trying to avoid the event, he had stumbled right into its final stage.
To make matters worse, Spirit Hall was overseeing the tournament this year, serving as an impartial arbiter.
"Dear, shall we go take a look?" Gu Yuena asked with a calm expression.
Li Si's lips twitched. "Xiao Wu, why don't you call me 'dear' too?"
Xiao Wu pouted, placing her hands on her hips. "Why don't you call me 'dear' first?"
"Fine, dear Xiao Wu, do you want to check it out?"
"Yes, let's go!"
"Since we're here, my husband, we might as well take a look," Gu Yuena added with a serene smile.
To Li Si, her words seemed innocuous.
To Xiao Wu, however, they were a bombshell.
"H-h-husband?"
Xiao Wu stared at Gu Yuena in disbelief, then turned to Li Si.
"You… you two…"
She had always known this day would come, but wasn't she the first one here?
Would she have to settle for being second?
"Xiao Wu…"
Li Si opened his mouth, unsure how to console her.
Gu Yuena stepped in. "Little Sister Xiao Wu, my age far surpasses yours. Being second isn't such a loss."
Li Si nodded thoughtfully. Her logic was sound.
Xiao Wu: "???"
I'm a 100,000-year soul beast! Wait… if she's from the depths of the Star Dou Forest… then she might actually be older than me.
