The Senate President nodded. His counterpart from the House looked at the Secretary of Defense slowly, then nodded his assent.
"All right, I'm making the call. Dial the number if you want to listen in on your phones. Let me do the talking."
We watched the scene on the display in the Status Room. Of course, we had a drone in the room with the Secretary of Defense.
A second later Joe announced, "Calls incoming. Connecting in three, two, one…"
"Hello, Mr. Secretary," I greeted him.
"Uh, hello, who am I speaking to?"
I chuckled aloud, "Nice try, Juan. I trust you've seen reports from your men on the scene?"
