Primrose bit her lower lip, then gave a small nod in response to Edmund's words. "I … really like kissing," she confessed shyly, then immediately covered her face with both hands, completely flustered by what she'd just said.
"Why?" Edmund asked on purpose, even though he could already tell how embarrassed she was.
She peeked at him through the gap between her fingers, her eyes filled with sincerity. "I don't know," she whispered softly. "It just makes me feel like you really love me." Her voice faded into a whisper at the end because she was too shy to say it out loud.
Edmund leaned in, gently lifting her into his lap before she even realized what was happening. He carefully moved her hands away so he could see her face. "That's because I do love you," he said softly, then gave her a light kiss on the lips, just enough to make her cheeks flush even redder. "I love you so much … Primrose."
