He buried his face in his hands, trying to block out the memories. "I should've run away before it happened. I should've left earlier, and then maybe … I wouldn't have killed them."
It might sound heartless, but deep down, Primrose truly believed that death had been the most fitting end for Edmund's parents.
If Edmund had run away while they were still alive, there was always the chance he might run into them again, and that would have ruined his life all over again.
So yes, in her heart, Primrose was glad they were gone. Because if they weren't, she might've been the one to hunt them down and make sure they never hurt him again.
