Konan shot Nagato a glare. "You talk too much."
Killer Bee cracked his shoulders and yawned. "Man, I've been runnin' around for days. Time for a bath and some sleep."
Naruto patted Bee on the back. "Go ahead. You deserve it."
After all, it had been tough convincing him to wait in the forest for so long.
Konan turned back to Naruto. "Naruto, while you were gone, I followed your instructions and selected thirty-six individuals. They are all teenagers, locals from Amegakure who have lived here their entire lives."
Naruto nodded. "Good. After I meet with Orochimaru, take me to see them."
"Understood. I'll gather them."
Naruto wasted no time and made his way into the tower. Moments later, he arrived at the entrance of Orochimaru's laboratory.
Pushing the door open, he found Orochimaru immersed in his experiments.
Without a word, Naruto took a seat on a nearby bench, waiting.
Orochimaru glanced up. "You're back?"
Naruto nodded. "How's the progress?"
Orochimaru sighed, setting down his instruments. "We've made some progress. We have a foundation to work with, but implementing it is proving difficult."
Naruto leaned forward. "That's expected. This is uncharted territory. Evolving ten Sharingan into the Rinnegan is not something that can be achieved through mere theory. In the end, we must leave some of it to fate."
Orochimaru studied Naruto for a moment, then chuckled. "Naruto-kun… sometimes, I truly admire you. How is it that you come up with these insane ideas?"
