Boom!!
Smoke surged in all directions. Hatake Kakashi was sent flying backwards, and his Earth-Style Wall was completely shattered!
A massive crater appeared at the center, with Deva Path Pain standing at its heart.
"What kind of jutsu was that?!" Kakashi gasped. "Everything centered around him was completely blown away!"
"In that case!" Kakashi activated his Lightning Chakra and roared, "Lightning Style: Lightning Beast Tracking Fang!"
The Raikiri in his hand morphed into a snarling wolf, leaping toward Pain.
A ripple of energy shimmered—and the Lightning Beast vanished on contact.
"Physical attacks and ninjutsu... both were repelled?!" Kakashi's expression darkened with shock.
Bang! Suddenly, a heavy thud sounded behind him.
Kakashi turned around sharply. "There's another one?!"
The Asura Path had dropped in silently behind him. Its wrist detached from its arm, revealing a series of missiles loaded from the exposed socket. It locked onto Kakashi and launched without hesitation!
Boom!! A barrage of missiles exploded around Kakashi, filling the field with smoke and dust.
Suddenly, Kakashi emerged behind the Asura Path, Raikiri crackling in hand. "Got you!"
Swish! His strike passed mere centimeters above Asura's head.
"What?!" Kakashi was stunned. "He dodged?!"
The Asura Path leapt backward and landed in front of the Deva Path. As it tore off its upper garment, its mechanical body transformed—three heads and six arms extended outward grotesquely.
Behind him, Deva Path Pain extended his palm. A strange force spiraled into being.
"Shinra Tensei!"
An immense gravitational pull erupted, dragging Kakashi toward the monstrous Asura Path.
"Not good!" Kakashi's eyes widened.
Fwip! The Asura Path's saw-blade arm shot forward, piercing Kakashi's body.
Crackle—!! Kakashi's form turned into a surge of lightning, electrocuting the Asura Path violently.
At that moment, Deva Path jumped back.
Boom!! Two colossal fists smashed into the Asura Path, pulverizing it!
Akimichi Chōza and Chōji landed heavily, flanked by several supporting Konoha ninja from the Barrier Team.
"Yes! We took one out!" Chōji cheered, then glared toward Deva Path Pain.
Pain frowned. "A Shadow Clone trap... You planned this from the start."
Suddenly, the Deva Path rushed toward them.
"Damn it, don't underestimate us!" one of the barrier squad members—let's call him Sauce 1—yelled and hurled a sickle at Pain. His comrades—Sauce 2, 3, and 4—launched various ninjutsu and projectile weapons in a coordinated volley.
"For the village!!" they shouted.
Pain advanced calmly. "Shinra Tensei."
With a single pulse, a massive shockwave exploded outward, sending the Sauce squad flying like ragdolls.
Kakashi immediately threw down a smoke bomb. A thick cloud erupted around Pain, masking the surroundings.
He and Chōza quickly ducked behind a ruined wall.
Chōji peeked out. "Damn it... They're all dead! He can deflect every attack? What are we supposed to do?!"
"I noticed something," Kakashi said grimly. "There's a brief delay between each use of his repulsive force. That's our only opening."
Chōza and Chōji nodded solemnly.
Kakashi weaved a hand seal and slowly sank into the earth using the Earth Style: Hiding Like a Mole Technique.
Deva Path Pain emerged from the smoke, stepping into the open.
"Super Multi-Size Technique!!" Chōza and Chōji expanded and charged from both sides.
"Shinra Tensei!" Pain activated his repulsion again, blasting the two massive Akimichi clan members backward, blood spraying from their mouths mid-air.
"Now!" Kakashi burst from the ground, Raikiri flaring with lethal intent. "Die!"
Pain's lips curled into a sinister grin.
"What?!" Kakashi's eyes widened.
The Asura Path, which had been shattered earlier, appeared in front of Pain—fully restored.
"Impossible!" Kakashi's heart sank. "Run! Get this intel to Lady Hokage!"
Kakashi tried to disengage from the Asura Path's mechanical grip, but it held tight.
Deva Path Pain stepped forward, his palm outstretched.
"Shinra Tensei!"
Boom!!
Kakashi's body convulsed under the force.
His arms fell limp.
Then he collapsed to the ground.
"Sensei!!" Chōji screamed.
"Go!" Chōza stepped forward, blocking Chōji. "I'll buy time! You must report this to the Hokage!"
"Super Expansion Jutsu!!" Chōza's size increased drastically as he roared.
"Dad!!" Chōji sobbed, running as fast as he could toward the Hokage Residence.
The Asura Path reconfigured its chest panel, preparing to fire another barrage of missiles at Chōji.
Boom! A massive punch struck it from behind, shattering its body again.
"Banshō Ten'in!" Deva Path roared.
The massive Chōza was yanked through the air uncontrollably toward Pain.
"No way!!" Chōza shouted, struggling. "Such force—how can this jutsu even exist?!"
"Shinra Tensei!" A massive explosion roared once more behind him, swallowing the field in dust.
Chōji, without looking back, continued running toward the Hokage tower, tears streaming from his face.
High in the air, Chōza's blood scattered like rain. His enormous body crashed to the ground—lifeless.
The Naraka Path (Hell Path) Pain approached the shattered remains of the Asura Path.
It summoned the King of Hell, a massive spectral entity with a tongue-hand that snatched up the destroyed body and pulled it into its mouth.
"Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique."
Moments later, the Asura Path stepped out of the King of Hell—completely restored.
Root Headquarters
Numerous Root shinobi knelt before Shimura Danzō.
"It's progressing, Yukishi. Soon, Tsunade's era will end," Danzō said calmly, his eyes cold. "But we cannot allow the Nine-Tails to fall into Akatsuki's hands. We will remain in the shadows until the chaos subsides."
"Shouldn't we assist the others?" one Root ninja asked cautiously. "Even if Lord Danzō leads us, Konoha's annihilation makes it all meaningless."
"She may be the Hokage, but she is still just a woman," Danzō said, eyes narrowing. "She used the Katsuyu Technique... so there will be survivors. Yes, there will be casualties—but sacrifices are necessary. It's the price I'm willing to pay to become Hokage."
His voice was eerily calm.
"Understood, sir!" the Root shinobi replied.
Above Konoha
The Animal Path Pain—appearing as a young girl—formed hand seals.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
Boom!! A colossal three-headed dog exploded into the village streets.
"Damn it! They've already breached this far!" shouted a trio of ANBU in white robes.
"Let's take it down!"
"Wind Style: Wind Cutter Jutsu!" One of them unleashed a high-pressure wind blade, slicing off one of the Cerberus's legs. It howled and stumbled.
"Lightning Style: Four Pillar Bind!" Stone pillars surged from the ground, lashing the beast with electricity and locking it in place.
The third ANBU leaped onto the pillar and performed hand seals.
"Earth Style: Earthen Dome!"
A massive stone dome appeared in the sky and slammed down like a lid over the three-headed dog.
Boom!! Dust billowed as the beast was crushed.
"Nice! That did it!" The ANBU prepared to leave.
Crack... crackle... The dome began to shake.
"Huh?" They turned.
The dome exploded violently. Debris shredded the three of them.
The enraged Cerberus lunged forward and slapped them down one by one.
"Oh no!"
"Fang Over Fang!!" a familiar voice roared in the distance—
