Genevieve forced a smile and nodded. She wondered the kind of audacity Evelyne had to lie against her. She could not end the courtroom session with Edric and went to her chamber. Her maids followed her as she entered the room and stayed quiet.
She sat on her bed and took off her jewelry angrily. Poisoning accusation? Isolde came in and noticed she was furious. She adjusted her jewelry to the other side and sat beside her.

"What do I want to gain from killing the king? Is she out of her senses or what?"
