"Die, you son of a beast!"
"He has thick skin like his father; we need bigger weapons!"
"Hahaha, we don't need bigger but sharper weapons. Watch how I truly eliminate this disgrace from our village."
Among this group of children, a boy suddenly took a sharp, broken piece of blade. Everyone moved away from the blade's path and stood beside the boy holding the blade.
However, the boy in tattered clothes didn't move away after seeing the blade in the boy's hand. He gave a short glance with his deadpan eyes before burying his head, clutching the dog tightly.
The boy holding the blade grinned widely, readying himself to throw the blade.
At that moment, a strong hand grabbed the wrist of the boy, making him frown.
"Who is it…it…." The boy looked behind and saw a towering figure staring at him coldly.
"Scram." With one word, all the children ran away in fear.
After every child left Yu Jing's vicinity, he came before the boy in tattered clothes. He squatted down and put his hand on the boy's head. Brushing the boy's head, Yu Jing solemnly looked at him.
The boy had tanned skin and long, messy hair; various scars and wounds could be seen on his thin, wooden body. Various bug eggs had taken home in his hair.
Yu Jing became heartbroken as he hadn't seen someone so miserable in his life, and a child on top of that. He had heard and seen various children like him on TV in his previous life; however, because he lived in a rather stable country, he didn't encounter this firsthand. Now seeing it with his own eyes, he realized how cruel the world can be.
With a simple smile on his face, Yu Jing raised the boy's head. Looking directly into the boy's dead eyes, he asked. "What is your name?"
The boy didn't know why, when he saw Yu Jing's smile and the gentle energy he radiated, he blurted out his name unconsciously. "Arash."
"Arash," Yu Jing stood up as he recalled his name. Stretching his right hand forward, he asked. "Do you want to come with me? I need a servant to take care of me."
Arash nodded his head without thinking too much. As Arash grabbed Yu Jing's hand, he asked, pointing his nose at the dog on his other arm. "Can I take Darky with me too?"
"Of course." Yu Jing didn't mind taking a pet. Also, he could feel a subtle, monstrous aura inside this dog. He would be able to keep a close eye on it if it stayed near him.
For the next few days, Yu Jing and Arash made a makeshift wooden house that was somewhat liveable. They also cleared up the front of the house for the courtyard.
With the help of healing pills and Yu Jing's care, Arash's appearance has completely changed. Now, he has short hair, and his face began to glow after continuous consumption of meat these days.
In this courtyard, Arash could be seen sweeping the ground.

Yu Jing came out after cultivating and watched Arash sweeping quietly. He nodded his head in satisfaction. 'This boy is very diligent with his work. It's just unfortunate there is no hope for cultivation.'
When Yu Jing thought of this, he was somewhat depressed. Despite not knowing each other that well, Yu Jing still liked Arash very much. Because Arash was a very honest and sincere boy, Yu Jing was reluctant to let him die so early. It would be better if Arash lived a couple hundred more years.
At this moment, he noticed an old man quietly watching Arash from beyond the fences. Yu Jing has seen this old man coming here every day and monitoring Arash. This old man didn't hide any of this, as if he wanted Yu Jing to know more about him.
Because Yu Jing felt no ill intention from this old man, he didn't care much about it. Today, Yu Jing became curious. For an old man to come inside the forest without any cultivation was tantamount to death. Yet this old man still came, with no regard for his life.
As if feeling like someone was watching him, the old man shifted his focus to Yu Jing and nodded his head with a smile. Seeing this, Yu Jing signaled the old man to come inside.
The old man didn't reject Yu Jing's invitation; he quickly came before Yu Jing.
"Sir, is there anything I can help you with?"
"Yes, there is something I want to know, but first, sit down." Yu Jing pointed at the chair beside him, then he looked at Arash. "Arash, the tea is ready. Go and get two cups of tea today."
"Yes, master." Arash bowed his head and went to take out the tea. After handing out the tea, he went back to his work.
The old man looked at Arash and asked. "Sir, what do you think of him?"
"He is very honest. I like him." Yu Jing answered while taking a sip.
"Then this old man has a wish, sir."
"Oh, what is it?"
"I hope you can always have him by your side. Please never leave him." The old man began to shake with tears flowing out of his eyes.
However, Yu Jing didn't agree instantly, seeing the old man like that. "Tell me, why should I?"
"Sir, this is a request from a grandfather for the better future of his grandchild."
Upon hearing this, Yu Jing raised his eyebrows. "You are his grandfather, and you wish the best for him, but why was he left in such a miserable way on the streets?"
"Because he doesn't belong to the village."
"Then why is he here?'
"I can't let him leave me. He is the only one I have left in this world."
Yu Jing sighed, looking at the old man's stoic face with teary eyes. "You are so ruthless."
