Chapter 104 - Chapter 104: Mr. President

Everyone present was stunned, their eyes wide with disbelief. Thirty thousand dollars a month? Combined, they barely had ten thousand.

The Brotherhood was also poor. Everything they had was either stolen or robbed.

"Any other questions?"

"No, my King."

Even Raven was shocked by the demon king's generosity. With this kind of support, they could hold out for at least six months without any problems.

"Long live the King!"

Someone shouted, and soon the entire Brotherhood erupted into deafening cheers. They never expected their new leader to be so generous.

"Erik, the rest is up to you. Keep an eye out for any mutants who can manipulate DNA—I have a use for them," Keno instructed before soaring into the sky and disappearing from sight.

"I won't disappoint you, my King," Erik said solemnly, his gaze firm with determination.

After Keno vanished, Erik stood up slowly.

The members of the Brotherhood quieted down, watching their former leader with restrained curiosity.

"Come forward and receive the serum," Erik ordered.

"Yes, sir!" they responded in unison.

One by one, the Brotherhood lined up to receive their injections. Muscles bulged and filled out as the serum coursed through their veins.

Raven now understood why the serum wasn't meant for women. While it did enhance abilities, the side effects on women were far too severe.

Once the members had finished, they began to pack their things and prepare to move out.

Raven approached Erik.

"Erik, I want to know what happened to you," she asked, her eyes filled with concern.

Erik glanced at his old friend.

"The King saved my wife and daughter," he replied simply.

Wife and daughter.

Weren't they supposed to be dead during the Apocalypse incident?

Raven's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly understood everything. She had even accompanied Erik once to visit their graves.

Now she knew why Erik was so willing to follow the demon king. A genuine smile spread across her face.

"Congratulations, Erik."

"Thank you."

Meanwhile, Keno flew across the night sky, bathed in silver moonlight.

His recent time-traveling experience had provided him with valuable knowledge. He still had about eighty percent of his Speed Force remaining, which meant he had plenty of energy left.

It also confirmed that his future self could appear in the past. But there was still the matter of the Sorcerer Supreme—why hadn't they shown up?

"Not the right time to meet?" he mused. Judging from their willingness to let him alter the past, it seemed they held no hostility toward him. If anything, they were turning a blind eye to his actions.

After pondering for a while without answers, Keno decided to focus on handling the mutant situation first.

He accelerated, streaking across the sky like a meteor.

Unbeknownst to him, his meddling with time had loosened a powerful seal hidden deep within the Earth.

"Hahaha! I'm almost free!"

"Odin, you'd better be prepared."

"When I break out, you'll be the first to die."

The ominous voice echoed through the world, carrying an aura of dread and malice.

At the Rock Manor—a grand, stately residence—President Matthew Ellis lay asleep beside his wife. The house was silent, enveloped in the stillness of the night.

Ring! Ring!

The sudden shrill ringing of the phone shattered the quiet, rousing Matthew from his sleep. His face showed a trace of annoyance.

This was the direct line. No one would call unless it was urgent.

"Who is this? What's the matter?" he asked irritably.

"Mr. President, someone is here to see you," came the butler's cautious voice.

"At this hour? Tell them to visit the White House during the day," Matthew replied curtly. He thought something serious had happened, but it was just a late-night visitor. Ridiculous!

"Sir, it's Mr. Keno."

"Keno? You mean the Keno?" Matthew's grogginess vanished instantly.

"The Demon King."

"I'll be right there. Ensure he is well received and ask him to wait in the main hall."

Matthew's tone turned serious and formal in an instant.

Beside him, his wife, Ella, stirred awake, noticing the change in his demeanor.

"What's going on, Matthew?" she asked sleepily.

"It's the Demon King. He's here," Matthew replied quickly. "Ella, take our daughter and leave through the back door."

His heart pounded with tension. As the President, his decisions shaped the nation's future. Whatever Keno wanted could change everything.

Ella shook her head and began dressing. "Matthew, I'm your wife. I won't leave you. Besides, Keno's been helping people recently—he probably means no harm."

"I hope you're right," Matthew sighed before placing another call.

When he arrived in the grand hall, Keno was already there, casually sipping tea. His posture was relaxed, and his expression calm.

Keno stood up respectfully as Matthew entered. "Good evening, Mr. President, Mrs. Ellis. I apologize for disturbing you at this late hour. Please accept this gift as a token of goodwill."

He handed over an elegantly wrapped box.

Matthew accepted it with a polite smile, then passed it to his wife without hesitation.

"No problem, Mr. Keno. I assume you have an important matter to discuss?" Matthew's tone was amiable but probing.

"Indeed, Mr. President. I recently took control of both the Brotherhood and the X-Men Academy. I am here to request custody of all the mutants currently imprisoned by the government," Keno stated bluntly.

Matthew's heart raced. With both major mutant factions under Keno's command, the government-held mutants were the only remaining piece of the puzzle. Was he planning to seize control of the entire nation?

"Mr. Keno, you must be mistaken. I never ordered the imprisonment of mutants," Matthew denied smoothly, unwilling to yield any ground.

Keno said nothing. His gaze pierced through Matthew like an unyielding blade, sending chills down the President's spine.

Despite the pressure, Matthew refused to budge. His wife squeezed his hand gently in silent support.

"It seems I was misinformed. I should replace my intelligence team," Keno finally said with a light smile, releasing the tension in the room.

Matthew exhaled in relief, allowing his shoulders to relax.

"By the way, Mr. President, I never properly thanked you for your assistance last time," Keno added, pulling out a sleek black card and placing it on the table.

"This is a Devil Corporation Black Card. With it, you can access our services worldwide—including private jets, luxury accommodations, and exclusive travel. It also grants an annual credit of thirty million dollars."

Keno spoke as if the card were nothing special, but Matthew's eyes flashed with a mix of surprise and hesitation.

"Power is a currency; the question is, how much are you willing to pay?"
