"There," she said softly, brushing the hair from my face. "Rest."
I reached for her hand, holding it for just a second. "Thank you… for everything."
She looked down at me with a soft smile, her fingers tightening around mine for a moment.
"Sleep well, Craig," she whispered. "We have a long road ahead."
Then, she stood up slowly, hesitating for just a moment before turning to leave.
But before she could take a step, I whispered, "Stay… just until I fall asleep."
I shifted a bit on the bed, blinking slowly as the room spun slightly. Luviyah sat beside me, her hands resting in her lap, watching me with quiet amusement.
"You okay?" she asked gently.
I looked up at her, my eyes half-lidded. "You're… so pretty," I slurred, grinning like a fool.
She blinked, caught off guard. A light blush crept up her cheeks, and she looked away for a moment, clearing her throat. "You're drunk," she muttered.
