MIKO
Something thumps outside my door, and I ignore it, even though I know it's probably one of the boys playing outside the hall.
But when one enters, and Jude is still not back home, I start getting off the couch. It has become a new normal for us to spend evenings together whenever he comes from the studio and I am done with my daily activities. I cook for him, and he eats as we play games or watch movies.
Then we proceed to cuddle on the bed, where we kiss for a few minutes before crashing out because we are tired anyway.
I like it. It's safe and I love routines. They are the little things that make a habit, infusing it in m y daily life that make me feel good.
But tonight Jude isn't here.
Opening the door, I see no one around until I look down and there he is.
Seated on the floor, right next to my door, head bowed as if he is asleep.
"Jude?" I crouch down, immediately smelling the liquor and a mixture of other perfumes.
