I can't.
I can't hold myself together when he is here. He is so close, and he is looking at me with the same care and worry like he has been the whole time and now I can't keep myself together anymore.
My knees hit the floor, hands on my face, as I feel the first tears. I don't want to cry, but god, I am so scared. I am so confused and the fear …. The fear that is still making my body tense is killing me. It's eating me alive.
"Jude? Why are you crying, mh?"
"I was so scared," I choke. "I went in there thinking I was going to pack up and go back home, but I don't even have a home anymore. I was so scared."
The emotions I had pushed down while I was talking with Rin all rush to the surface. I can't stop the dam.
I feel Jude's hand on my hair. "You are not going anywhere, I promise."
"I thought that I was done for, I knew and was told that I shouldn't mess up. That this is not somewhere I can make mistakes and get away with."
