Chapter 42 - Chapter 42

WARNING: This Chapter contains Trauma. If that's an upsetting subject for you, then you should avoid this entire chapter.

Cashew started using Illusion Magic on himself to make himself look more ghostly and transparent, while also making himself cry, although making himself cry wasn't too hard thanks to his Permanent Head pain from 6 years ago.

Cashew: You killed me! you MONSTER! How could you kill an innocent child?!?

Cashew was thrashing around in the chair he was tied to, putting on a great performance to try and make the Captain feel guilt and regret.

The Captain was caught off guard by this, she knows it's an act, but it still surprised her, causing her to back up a little.

Captain: What do you mean? You killed someone. You killed a guard.

Cashew upped his act even more, even using Illusion Magic to make it look like his soul is trying to leave his body.

Cashew: No I didn't! A guard died through unknown means and you're trying to throw the blame onto a child who just so happened to be there, you MONSTER!!!

Cashew started to wail and thrash even harder, not going so hard as to knock the chair down, but still hard enough to make it look like he is suffering.

Captain: Kid, I'm honestly frightened by your acting skills, but i know this is an act.

Cashew Didn't respond, instead, he continued on and even used the Illusion spell to make it look like his scalp is bleeding and the blood is dripping down his face.

Cashew: IT HURTS, OH GOD, WHY DID YOU DO THIS?!

The Captain got out of her seat and backed up even more, the Blood caught her even more off guard.

Cashew: ARGH! IT HURTS! HOW CAN YOU LIVE WITH YOURSELF?!...

In Cashews head, he was thinking "Hm. I think my act is good, but what if I could make my head explode? That's what happened when she hit me." While he was wondering how to make the act even better, he was looking for an opportunity to burn the rope bounding him with magic without her noticing.

On the outside, Cashew kept flailing and trashing around, so much illusionary blood was flowing from his head as his body kept switching from illusory and real, crying and wailing, making the Captain uncomfortable.

Cashew: THE PAIN!... OH GOD, MY HEAD, IT HURTS!

Captain, K-kid... You can cut the act. It's not working.

She was lying to herself, it was working. Even though she knows it's an act and he's using some sort of magic to do all of this, she knows it's fake, but it's still getting to her, she did attempt to kill a child.

Captain: You killed one of my guards, and you refused to surrender peacefully, you even attacked me back.

Cashew: IS THAT WHAT YOU SAY TO EASE YOUR CONSCIOUS?! YOU KILLED AN INNOCENT CHILD!... YOU ENDED A LIFE BEFORE IT EVEN BEGAN! STOP RESISTING AND REALIZE WHAT YOU DID! YOURE A CHILD MURDERER!

Cashew went back to flailing about and loudly crying, the illusionary blood was now forming a pool at his feet, Cashew even decided to swing his head around so some of the illusionary blood would land on her hands, making this even more impactful, plus, shaking his head around would make the head pain worst and his crying even worst. He's putting on an act to take advantage of potential guilt. He doesn't need to tough out the head pain. He can let it all out.

Cashews flailing was successful, the Captain felt something land on her hand and she nervously looked down, seeing that there was blood on it. Cashews (illusionary) blood. Seeing this made her hands start to shake a little. She knows- or, she thinks this is an illusion.

Meanwhile, in Cashews head, "*Sigh* if only I knew what some of the people she killed in the past looked like. Then I could create an illusion of them as well to make this even more impactful..." On the outside, however, Cashew was screaming and trashing about still, illusionary blood was flying all over the room, mostly aimed at the captains hands.

The Captain took a few more steps back, clearly shaken by this, and the next moment,Cashews head explodes, and his body disappears, the rope that bound him was on the ground behind the chair. Some Chunks of Cashews head went flying at her, making this even more impactful.

Meanwhile, in Cashews Pocket Dimension, Billie Nelson was frantically scooping up fragments of Cashews head and piling them up near his neck stump, then regeneration started to kick in and Cashews body started to rebuild his head.

Cashew: *Sigh* I'm proud of myself and my performance! That last stunt was really risky. I had to secretly cast a barrier shield around my head to catch all of the fragments after I formed a fireball behind my head and shot it, exploding my head. I also had to time it perfectly for when my body went completely invisible and the Pocket Dimension portal opening for 1 second. The Portal had to be invisible too. I'm glad I got the timing right! The magical barrier caught my head fragments and gravity made them drop into the portal after my body, im surprised she did a bad job binding my hands, but that made it even better! I think a few fragments of my head escaped the portal barrier, though.

Back in the room, the Captain looked visibly shaken, she slowly crouched down and picked up a fragment of Cashews skull that landed at her feet, her eyes slightly tearing up and her usual judgemental stare long gone.

Back in the Pocket Dimension.

Cashew: Alright! Let's add the finishing touch!

Back in the room, the Captains was in the verge of tears, she really did kill this child, and she wasn't even confident the child killed Rognil, she just assumed that the kid did it because it was on his doorstep.

Cashew: YOU CHILD MURDERER!

Cashew suddenly Jumped out of his pocket Dimension, his entire body covered in illusionary blood as he grabbed the Captain by the neck and tried shaking her, screaming in pain while their faces where inches apart.

The Captain instinctively swung her hand punched Cashew, which sent him flying, but he was able to catch himself with his portal again, he was sent flying into his pocket Dimension, crashing into Billie Nelson, who didn't even budge.

The Captain was now visibly crying and very scared, she rushed out of the room and wiped her eyes, which the Blonde Guard noticed as he was waiting outside the room, he didn't seem to know what happened in there as the room was sound proof.

Blonde Guard: Captain, are you alri-...

He saw her crying and rushing away, he instinctively looked into the room to confront the kid, but he was gone, he stepped in and searched the room and found no trace of him, as if he was never there, he eventually gave up and left.

"Hehe, that was fun! Maybe I should be a bit more persistent to really make the act believable." Cashew thought as he peeked through his invisible portal, he watched the guard while his portal was invisible.

When the guard left the room, he Sneakily rushed to follow the Blonde Guard. "He seemed to have feeling for the woman, so I think he would rush to her side and comfort her, so I just need to follow him to find her." Cashew thought to himself.

Cashew was camouflaging himself with the illusion spell that makes him harder to notice. Illusion spells that make him completely invisible won't last long with his skill level, and he couldn't do all that he wanted with the illusion magic that affects what you see, so he had to make do.

The Blonde Guard eventually caught up with the Captain who was outside, she looked traumatized as she leaned against the exquisitely carved Stone guard rail of the castle she's in.

Blonde Guard: What happened? Where did the kid go?

Captain: Was the Kid really there?...

She asked, she looked at the Blonde guard for half a second before turning away, but that half second was enough for the Blonde Guard to see that she was crying.

Blonde Guard: Captain... You-...

The Blonde Guard stopped talking, not finishing what he was gonna say. He simply stayed next to her quietly.

Cashew was hiding behind a corner, watching from about 6 meters away, to their left. "Dammit... Why are they having a Heartwarming moment? Wait... I could use this chance to escape, but do I wanna continue with my act?..." Cashew Pondered whether to continue his act.

"I can't stay here long, I'll be spotted eventually... I'll leave it alone." Cashew made up his mind to not continue the act and flee the castle before he is spotted.

Running down the halls, Cashew past by plenty of guards and soldiers, he was having a hard time finding the exit and next thing he knew, he was back where the Captain and the Blonde Guard were, only they had left by that point.

Cashew: Screw it, I'll jump the ledge. They aren't there anymore, and this is the closest I've found to an exit.

Cashew Rushed over to the ledge and looked down, it wasn't too high, the ground below was an empty street, Cashew looked around to make sure nobody noticed him and jumped.

Cashews legs shattered upon landing, the Bones were basically dust and his legs were noodles, even his pelvis was shattered, but his regeneration quickly rebuilt his bones and legs and he was able to run away.

It took Cashew 3 hours to get out the village and back to his cabin, but when he reached his cabin and stopped running, Cashew realized something.

Cashew: That Blonde Guard knows where I live and seems attached to the woman. He might come after me soon... I guess I'm leaving this cabin now. Let's pack everything quickly.

Cashew Quickly gathered everything he had that wasn't already in the Pocket Dimension, so he gathered his Bedding, animal pelts he slept on and a blanket, his cookware, a clay pot, Clay bowl, wooden spoon and an Iron pan. He also gathered the rest of his meat that he had saved for later via Ice Magic.

Now that the Cabin was empty of his belongings, he looked one last time to make sure he didn't forget anything and rushed outside, calling his Golems over, also Calling Billie Nelson out of the Pocket Dimension.

Cashew Told his Golems that they were leaving this cabin and moving elsewhere, so they would be on the move alot. The Wood and Stone Golems had no objections and they all left the cabin. Heading deeper into the forest.

2 Hours later, the Blonde Guard showed up at the cabin with a few other guards, intending to confront the kid they thought was dead for the past 6 years, but they found the place empty when they got there. The place looked decently clean, as if it was empty only recently.

The Guards all looked around to find clues, and they eventually notice big footprints from a large Golem heading deeper into the Forest. The footprints looked fresh, one of the guards also looked at the spot they remembered Cashews Stone Golem hiding 6 years ago and saw that it was empty, but it looked as if a Golem had been laying there recently, with deep imprints in the ground and worms and other bugs scattering about, wondering where their home went.

Blonde Guard: So you went deeper into the forest, Huh?...
