Chapter 16 - Let the Tournament Begin

Again, this ass... this moron was going to be late!

Whatever the person, whatever the event, whatever the importance of the said event... he was unable to show up right on time for the appointment that he had set for himself or that was set for him because he still hadn't acquired the fact that getting up at more than ten o'clock in the morning, on a weekday, was not tolerable!

But then, there was no one left to correct him...

And from the sound of the tiller coming out of his facial orifices, he wasn't going to wake up on his own anytime soon.

As the tournament was about to begin, the Fairy grew impatient, tapping her foot on the floor, arms crossed, grimacing in frustration. She was waiting for the man she had invited. She reassured herself that he had a few minutes left before he was officially late. Waiting in front of the princely boxes, she saw the princesses and their respective champions.

First, there was Princess Diasiree accompanied by her champion Al-Ryanis. Next to them was Princess Roxanne, Diasiree's best friend. She was a pretty brunette fairy with glasses and lightning eyes. Despite appearances, don't expect her to be the one with the most outlandish schemes with her unusual intelligence that would allow her champion to win for sure. At the same time, she has an IQ barely above her friend's who was already barely above average - no, I'm being facetious, Roxanne has a higher quotient than her friend... which was common among mortals. Her goal was not to win the tournament but to help her friend Diasiree. Although she had a dog-like temper, she could almost be nice to the people she liked...

Behind her, there was a small elf with black hair - which was an anomaly in their cracked race - and small squinted eyes named Jacob. He too had glasses, but unlike his protégée, he didn't have that aggressiveness that emanated from his gaze. Nevertheless, he could boast of a great intelligence that was above average and was much nicer than her. However, he was one of the less skillful champions with weapons and in fights, but he was still much braver than Beneltig who was his childhood friend, as well as the Fairy.

Behind them, there was another brunette - that's a lot, right? - with glasses and a serious expression, except that she had curly hair and mat skin - probably a half-breed with the same origins as Mina the dwarf -, she seemed to have the same evil look as Roxanne but was not as fierce as her. Mnemma had the same presence as Diasirée but seemed more dignified than her, and had the same intelligence as the winged fairy herself! On the post-tournament, if she made it through the elimination rounds, she would be her most dangerous opponent, and her physical beauty was not to be overlooked although she did not possess the same flamboyant attributes as her two rivals.

Her champion was none other than a big ogre with a fat skin and a pot belly - like his Globox counterpart -, he didn't look the cleanest, but he also had the audacity to be rude and to have wandering hands - this deceiver had dared, while other champions were bothering the Fairy to take her stuff, to "feel the stuff", she reported it to Beneltig who... did nothing like in Limbo (here is your hero, ladies.), her excuse was a difference in weight that was too great for him to fight, all this under the eyes of our dear servant who witnessed the harassment perpetrated by this ogre and the cowardice of Beneltig, all this from a window where he could observe the two scenes upside down like a bat with the help of a stolen sucker. From his appearance, however grotesque, one could tell that he was a big customer - no pun intended: huge arms, prominent lower canines outside the mouth, vicious looks... a brute, in short.

And there was this redhead named Marina, freckles all over her face, a very ordinary physique compared to the other girls presented, she was distinguished by her long pointed nose and wide smile revealing her huge teeth - they were not that big. She looked like a funny girl smiling all the time.

His champion was what humans called a "Sautillon", small humanoid beings with spring-like ankles, their faces were dotted with brown spots and their eyes were composed of several irises. They were known to be very playful, very teasing but above all super sociable - they love to cuddle. An atypical duo, all in all.

Then the last princess that I am going to introduce you is the best friend of the previous one, she has the nickname of the queen, except that there is a "C" instead of the "S" of Sélia. Celia was part of the fairies with generous forms but she had not been spoiled at the level of the face compared to her competitors, she had the same frankness as the princess, but she knew how to hold her tongue and did not spout a constant stream of bullshit like the other wingless bewildered girl who did not know the difference between coquillettes and raviolis.

His champion was a centaur of the donkey type, with prominent teeth like his animal companions, and he looked like a fusion between a donkey - since he had the appearance and the brains - and Dingo. He was arrogant but had never shown any talent for fighting, his most famous feat was to torment fairies younger than him - and Beneltig by the way. His fairy didn't like him much, but he, on the other hand, was madly in love with her - he would surely have a chance if he took a little more care of her and stopped being versed in crime.

Interesting fact: he was one of the only faeries in the tournament from the Underworld who could defend a faerie for the throne of Sylvania or claim it...

All of them walked towards the princely lodges and went inside, looking at the Fairy in a mocking and haughty way, some of them did not even look at her. Their cold and hard looks made the fearless fairy uncomfortable, even though she was used to it.

However, despite all this hatred, only one fairy spoke to her: Marina, the redheaded fairy.

- Are you waiting for someone?

The Fairy gasped in surprise, not expecting anyone to speak to her.

- Uh... yes...

- Who is it? One of your friends?

- Euh... no! No! she answered, the people have no right to be there, you know it well.

- But it's not likely to be Beneltig since it's his big day, the redhead reflected, so ... is he your lover? she said with eyes filled with mischief.

- ABSOLUTELY NOT!" the wingless fairy vehemently refuted.

- I'm just kidding!" laughed Marina, "I'm teasing you! But then, who could it be?

- You'll see.

- Oh! You're abusing it! You're not...

- My Lady!" intervened the champion of the red fairy, the fight will soon begin. You will have all the time to speak to you later.

She wanted to protest but he pulled her arm to get her into the dressing room.

The Fairy stood alone at the door, desperately waiting for the Man she had under her care to come.

And miraculously, the Hero appeared, running on crutches, panting, throwing his body at every stride and unexpectedly landed in front of the object of his appointment.

- What took you so long?" shouted the Fairy.

He presented her with the palm of his hand so that she would stop complaining for a moment, the time it takes for him to catch his breath after this frantic race.

After obtaining normal breathing, he allowed her to claim.

- Why are you late?

He took his slate that he had around his neck and wrote:

I'm not late at all

- What are you talking about?" the Fairy said, "the tournament will start any second now!

So I'm right on time," he writes with a laugh.

- Roh! grunted the wingless fairy, moreover, you are all disheveled, come here!

She grabbed his arm and brought him closer to her, she began to straighten his clothes, to close his belt properly and to try to remove the folds of his clothes with her hands so that they would look less wrinkled. This tickled making him squirm in all directions and embarrassed the Hero who looked away from the enterprise of his guardian.

- Stop acting like a child," she scolded him, "if you made the effort to get up earlier instead of sleeping until two o'clock, maybe you wouldn't be late and I wouldn't have to do this.

And she was totally right!

Lazy, go!

This man was really abusing the hospitality that was graciously offered to him.

He sleeps at three o'clock in the morning, and he is surprised to wake up so late!

But then, the explanation is always more complicated than a pitiful lifestyle...

- Tell me, is it just because you go to bed late that you get up late?" she asked him.

He looked away, scratching his cheek, then nodded.

- If you say so...

She stood up and wiped the shoulders of the faceless boy.

The latter took his slate and wrote:

Thank you and sorry

- It doesn't matter, the most important thing is that you came, she said, giving him a big smile.

His heart leapt with ecstasy when he saw her radiant face. Her kindness and candor - which he found to be close to pure stupidity - touched him greatly, although she was often angry with him.

The fairy took her wrist and led her to their assigned seats.

In her company, he felt a certain nostalgia, he had the memory of a world he had known well before, a world as bright as this one.

Was that why the voice had woken him up?

Get up ! Your destiny calls you...

The truth is, he was more than tired of hearing her boss him around all day. She had a knack for leading him on and talking about destiny all the time, but she had never given him directions on how to find the bastard knight who had murdered his mother... even though their goals were the same...

He couldn't even tell her to shut up since she was talking in her head!

At least she was helpful since she had woken him up to go on his date with the princess, saving him from her sulking or worse, not making him more cookies.

His escapades were useful as he managed to take the shortcuts he had discovered that would take him more easily out of the castle and into the arena. Or the queen had helped him again.

Sneaking through the alleys, the Hero felt himself being watched by all the Fairy folk around him, they were judging him and also had a look of fear and fury towards him.

He wondered if their queen had told them about him or if it was his fight with Jordan that had made such an impression on them. "What is he doing here?" he could hear.

- I don't know," answered another, "it is said that the Anomaly, on the orders of the queen, had become her servant as a punishment for having defended her when she was about to be executed.

Was it true? the Hero wondered, it's true that she was taking care of him, but from there to say that she had become his maid... He wanted to ask her the question but he didn't want to disturb her in her quest to find their assigned places.

- It is said that he could even dispose of his body at will, another voice assumed.

The Hero swallowed hard, their assumption was going too far, she still had a lover, he didn't think the queen would give him such orders - even if it made him laugh, but he didn't want her to know.

- Oh the whore... That would be me, he would have defended me at the risk of his life to defend my dignity of princess.

- Stop it, poor thing, said a female voice with a half laugh, her champion wouldn't even stand up for her if that was the case.

This is getting to be a bit much! On the one hand, Beneltig would never have had the guts to confront either the Queen or the Hero, but on the other hand, girl or not, the boy was planning to dislocate their jaws to punish them for the nonsense they were talking.

The Fairy stopped him by tugging on his sleeve and shook her head to tell him not to interfere. The Hero did not understand, this is not what he had learned all his life. "If they spit on my name, they will spit on her teeth at the same time". But she refused to let that happen. He obeyed, after all, it was she who was insulted, not him.

A tap on his ribs stopped him in his tracks, he turned to his instigator and recognized a familiar face, that of Al-Ryanis, the man from whom he had borrowed the spear to save the Fairy. Beside him was his protege, Diasiree. She gave them a quick glance before turning her eyes to the stadium.

- Would you like to sit there since you can't find your seats?

- The two princesses exclaimed.

The boy shrugged his shoulders and crept down the aisle to the seats offered to them by the champion of the Fairy's enemy princess. The Hero sat to the left of the wingless princess and to the right of Princess Diasirea. The rival of the human's friend recoiled at the approach of this strange man.

Why should a human being be at their side?

The queen had gone mad - well, even madder than now?

Did the Feline possess it?

Moreover, she associated it with the Wingless?

In the end, both went hand in hand with abominations...

All these harsh words were said deliberately loud enough for the two concerned to hear everything that was being said about them.

The Hero had acquired enough mental strength to let the streams of insults flow over him - which was totally wrong, he had mostly acquired the skill of pushing the heads of what he didn't like to the bottom of toilet bowls infested with infectious and incurable diseases to teach them respect -, but he was more worried about his "tutor", he watched her from the corner of his eye and he could see her impassivity in front of these insults.

When Tadzi came on his flying star manta, everyone fell silent.

When the champions appeared, the Hero tapped her on the shoulder to shake her out of her lethargy.

- Ouch! Why did you do that?

He indicated to her the arrival of his beloved on the stadium field.

- I know," she said without any emotion.

The Hero wanted to suggest that she show a little more spirit to encourage her champion, show a little more confidence, what. But he didn't know if she was so desperate to believe in any miracle that could reverse the current situation, and she didn't seem to be in the mood to laugh, even to reassure her. The moment did not lend itself to it at all.

And Beneltig's opponents did not seem to be jokers: there was a cyclops with an extraordinary musculature, he had to be two meters fifty, belted with a Blest bear skin - a snarling animal, with silver fur and shaggy hair, to confront him was to sign his death warrant or to get a free pass towards all the girls of your village, for the girls... well... they were allowed to become bricklayers... I guess - leather leggings and armbands that were dotted with green stains, he held in his hand a baton filled with spikes.

A Siamese Amazon warrior - it was exotic to go and look for breeds from across the Atlantic - wearing a leather shoulder pad and armbands, an iron headband that encircled her head, leather busts and platinum leggings. Usually Amazons carried quivers as they were great hunters, but this one didn't, she must have been one of the few Amazons I saw fighting with melee weapons that weren't daggers, or even rarer, swords, but this one was going to fight with a flail.

And two dwarves, one was as equipped as his beard was full, sledgehammers, hooks, a grappling hook, white disks which the Hero couldn't really distinguish, he was wearing a full dwarf armor - I can tell you that anything made by dwarves is of exceptional quality, It's a pity that it's the most pitiful ones who try to produce weapons and other gadgets with human technology, like Bozo (that's the real name his mother gave him, but well, more than five thousand years separate us from people who have the reference). This Fairy looked more like a carpenter than a real warrior.

The second dwarf was dressed... in a yellow raincoat? You could hardly see his face, he was not carrying any weapon, well, some blades that looked like claws protruding from his sleeve. He was really mysterious.

The Hero was disappointed not to see technomancer dwarves, he would have liked to learn technomagic or technomancy from them.

Only Beneltig was left to enter the scene, he was dressed in a sumptuous armor, well clean on him, decorated with various decorations, his sword was the most beautiful weapon in front of those of his opponents who seemed worn by the shocks and by the time. The only snag that made the assembly laugh was that everything he was wearing seemed too big for him. The Fairy hid her eyes in shame. As much for the daily life, he had a certain style of clothing which did not pass unnoticed and showed a certain finesse of the taste of the fashion, as much to equip himself to go to fight: it was a zero point.

The champions stood on the podium and surrounded Tadzi who rose to a higher platform, he performed a spell to conjure a microphonic orb.

- ARE YOU READY?" shouted Tadzi.

- YES!" replied the crowd.

The Fairy leaned toward the human and asked:

- Do you understand what he's saying?

The Hero nodded, he prepared his slate because she was going to keep asking him questions.

- So you know what he just said?" she whispered.

A little

- Tell me what it says then?

But you answered his question just now

- Well, because he told us that was the answer to this sentence.

The Hero understood that Tadzi had knowledge of this ancient language, he was described as a "people" journalist while the blue slime seemed to have much more knowledge than he wanted to show.

It is a human dead language

- English?

It dates back more than seven thousand years

- So nobody is supposed to know how to speak this English...

Exact

Tadzi extended his arms and made appear, on those, heads of his person with, before them, the microphonic orbs.

- Glad to hear you say that!

He could make them say insults and they wouldn't notice.

- Our dear organizer Caesar, here," he said, pointing to a stage just below the queen's boxes, "will be able to declare the tournament open.

Caesar stepped forward and greeted the cheering crowd. This fairy really had a terrible face, her big scar that crossed her face, her little beady eyes, her large wrinkles and her lack of facial and cranial hair gave her a distinctly unsympathetic air.

Taking into account his mangy hands of giant Nordic lumberjacks.

Moreover, with his red toga with golden borders, he looked like the worst of the Roman scum, yet he was a cream, benevolent with everyone, especially with the underprivileged children of the Underworld.

- Before we begin, I will let the Queen have the pleasure of telling you the importance and the context of this exceptional tournament, he declared.

The queen rose from her royal seat, walked to the edge of her balcony, her long, huge turquoise wings with black borders that matched perfectly with her cyan polonaise dress made of several light fabrics, a cloak that came down to her feet, a half-ribbed body and an ass that was a turn at the kidneys which gave her a vaporous silhouette. Her butterfly wings projected strong winds all over the stadium and in the wind spread star dust with each beat of her wings.

All those touched by this dust were illuminated with a bright "divine" light as if they were rising to the sky, these starry ashes illuminated them like Stoel trees - or Christmas for the last Christians of Fayiera Terra. The inhabitants of the kingdom called this ritual the "Blessing of the Fairy Secular Deities". It was supposed to bless the consecrated ones chosen by the Faerie gods represented by their "chosen ones" and through them grant them strength, luck and prosperity.

She usually stood at the top of the castle and spread her dust over the entire population.

When she finished, the people were filled with a feeling of ecstasy and euphoria.

How wonderful to be anointed by Her Majesty, the Queen.

Audisélia also made a microphonic orb appear and put it in phase with her mouth.

- People of Sylvania, I greet you!

All the hubbub and rejoicing died down in an instant at the monarch's first words.

At that moment, the charisma, the presence, the firm look and the tension that she instigated, magnifying the aura that could only emanate from a king, reached their paroxysm. For the first time since he met her, the Hero recognized the title of queen of the one who was called by her full name Audiselia Vanguard second of the name, also called the "Goddess of the Lightning Storms of Fire".

One could only take her seriously, even if her dress shone with a thousand lights and looked like a fairy tale princess, her piercing eyes, her cold beauty, the heavy solemnity that transpired from her attitude. All this gave her presence an electrifying aura that ran through the whole stadium.

This facet of her personality excited the Hero enormously, since she had thrown him a "thunderbolt" with her electricity pylon, he never stopped thinking about her. I reassure you, he was not a masochist, it was not her intrinsic beauty that interested him, but the strength and the power that emanated from her. He wanted to confront her, to take his revenge, to see her at her full power and

The Fairy sensing the human's excitement, took his shoulder and asked:

- Does our queen have that much effect on you?

He threw his hand facing her down and wrote:

I just want to fight with her

The winged fairy's eyes widened in amazement at the human boy's statement, which was surprising to say the least.

- But what are you talking about?" she laughed, "I want you to be strong, but still... She's on another level! It's already a miracle that you survived what she did to you...

He told her to shut up, making a crab with his hand to indicate that her opinion was derisory before answering:

I'm sure I have a chance

I wasn't into it and I was hungry

The Fairy laughed at his apology, which she found pitiful.

- Are you serious?

He looked her straight in the eye with a tight smile to remind her that in Limbo, the finest food he could eat was none other than "Mexcula spider torso on its bed of web and spider eggs".

- I admit that they were not very... classic meals, she conceded, however, I assure you that you cannot pretend to have any chance against His Majesty! You will never be able to defeat the one they call the "deterrent of the kingdom". During the "Great Fire of Upper Town", caused by the terrible dragon Sertikan, twenty-six years ago, she single-handedly defeated this monster of power. Her acts of bravery are countless and known beyond the "walls" of the kingdom. However, there is a shadow in the picture..., she nuanced.

The Hero raised an eyebrow - which no one could see of course, if it wasn't funny!

- At this same time, she was defeated by a mysterious and overpowered vagabond, nothing in this kingdom was capable of defeating her, neither our greatest generals, nor our most valiant warriors, nor our wisest mages, defensively and offensively, she was unattainable. Beyond her walls, her name also echoed, she was known as "Death" because of her weapon of choice: a scythe that she made appear "magically"!

Why do you say in quotes? Does it look like you were there?

- Bah no, I was not born, banana! she says by drawing out him the language.

This made the Hero instinctively smile.

- If you don't believe me, look at the c...

- Boucla-là!" whispered Diasirée bitterly, passing her head over the Hero's shoulder.

Not very difficult since she was taller than him.

The Fairy opened wide her eyes of fury at this unexpected intervention and was enraged that she was told to keep quiet, especially by her.

- What right do you have to tell me to shut up?

- I didn't tell you to shut up, I told you to shut up," said the rival princess, "unless you want me to tell you to shut up, you sow. I'll add that I have that right because I'm a real fairy with wings unlike you, even your lousy boyfriend is more respectable with his wings than you.

Diasiree and the Fairy wanted to get up and fight, but Al-Ryanis and the Hero made them sit down again quickly - even their male curiosity would have liked to see them fight to see who was stronger, but the moment was far too inconvenient to answer such questions.

Despite the fact that the two men told them to be quiet, they continued to argue vehemently, but the Hero perceived a certain feverishness in the voice of the Fairy... Seeing that it did not end, the Hero seized their lips and closed them with his fingers, they began to struggle but he turned their faces towards the Queen who glared at them as she wanted to speak.

The Hero heard the roar of electricity behind him, he didn't know if the shock was going to be aimed only at him - which would have been unfair since he hadn't actually "spoken" - or for the two princesses around him, or even all four of them. Still, he had a feeling that he would have been the target of this attack no matter what.

The queen spoke again.

- Ingoloriosa.

- Ingoloriosa!" replied the audience.

It was a word from the religious Oli'ane, an Oli'ane that Helmir had not taught her - she had not felt the need.

Taking a solemn tone, the queen declared:

- As you may have learned in the various news boards, my days as queen are numbered...

The subjects shouted in surprise at the news of this announcement - after all, no one knew about it, even though there were news boards in every city district in the kingdom! If you could see how the queen was fuming with rage when they had been refusing to set up a newspaper system in every home for years, but "No! That's too "humane"!

Damn conservative of my two! she thought.

- I'm sorry to tell you then," she continued, "but you must have known that the champions would fight. And if this tournament has been set up, it's not because of a disease like my predecessor or a betrayal like the one whose name has been forgotten in the meanders of Fayiera Terra's history, she reassured them, but because of destiny itself, because of a prediction announcing the advent of the fairy of the Legend of this generation.

Everyone was puzzled when they heard about this fairy from the Legend, the Hero was the first to be troubled by this news, yet he had searched the archives of the Universal Library, nothing indicated the presence of any fairy with the Hero, just that some heroes had had companions in the past. Not some obscure fairy who could have the same title as the hero. This could call into question his initial objective!

She must have been rambling...

- We did our research beyond what the human writings indicated, and we were able to determine that what we Faeries have always believed was correct. Although humans have always denigrated us on this subject to the point of questioning our beliefs, we were right: the hero was always accompanied by a fairy. We will make the results of our research available in less than a week, while we put everything in order.

The whispers became louder and louder, so many questions were being asked by the crowd, questions that went beyond the simple mythological-historical story. This made the society on which the kingdom was based even more complex, reinforcing the legitimacy of the fairies to be in power over all the races of Sylvania...

- The basis of your regency..., Al-Ryanis blew his nose with a sly smile, everyone, with a few exceptions, agrees that he was, but to say that his legacy has been perpetuated for generations by taking as its source the Era of Darkness that he stopped, is already much less likely, but if on top of that, now, he is accompanied by a fairy... What nonsense! he finally growled.

- I agree with you on one point, Diasiree intervened, if the Hero had left any heir on the surface of this planet, the darkness flooding the skies would have disappeared long ago.

The ungodly speak much to say nothing. But after all, the hero of the Legend was never a god, but to guess the truth of the last thoughts that were not so impenetrable was not divine, but still impossible. Especially those of the other successors after the burden they left them. People have a false image of the hero of the legend as if he were an omnipotent being, whereas it is very simple to remember that he was human.

- For many, including Men, the hero of the Legend, champion of the New Earthmen, chosen by Destiny...

At these words, the Hero's body began to shudder, his ears ringing before he heard an incessant buzzing in his mind. He curled up and began to sweat profusely with blood coming out of his head, running down to his eyes.

- Hey!" a voice shouted at the Hero.

This one raised the head and saw that it was the Fairy who called him, he saw a strange gleam in his eyes, some drops beaded his forehead. He did not know if it was still his imagination which played tricks to him or if that was true.

- What's wrong?" worried the winged fairy, "don't you feel well?

The Hero shook his hand and then gave a thumbs up so as not to worry him.

He touched his face and stared at the palm of his hand and saw nothing there.

Another one of his fucking hallucinations...

It hadn't happened to him in so long that he thought it must have been a figment of his imagination - ironic, right?

It must have been one of the many ailments caused by his illness. But the more time passed, the more he thought about it, the more he doubted that it was indeed that.

It must have been another blow of this damn curse that had no end but to rot his already laborious life...

And the fact that her body reacted so strangely to the queen's words only confirmed her suspicions.

- ... it is a relic of the past that has had its day, and for others still, it is a myth stemming from a popular worldwide belief, questioning the veracity of the Dark Ages, therefore the fact that there is someone who stopped it, and consequently, the veracity of the existence of its heirs, and they are completely wrong to think so! I know that my opinion may seem biased in view of my history and my background that I may have had in my youth, but listening to the predictions of the other Mrs. Irm... of the Sibylline oracle, I see myself in the obligation to abdicate...

The public began to shout, expressing their anger and dismay at the decision of their beloved queen: "You can't do that to us!", "You haven't even done the statutory hundred years!", "You're not going to let us down because of the words of a fortune teller!" ...

Oh but the last sentence, it was a goal in the left skylight of the queen's heart. Too bad for this person that the queen wasn't focused on the waves she was emitting, because she would have found her and married her on the spot - male or female.

Audiselia was tired of her popularity rating being below that of this charlatan. It's true that her predictions proved to be true one hundred percent of the time, but that was no reason for the oracle to pass her in popularity.

It was simply intolerable for her.

So imagine her euphoria when she heard that she had moved up to first place - there must have been 0.003 points difference between the two since the time, not enough to shout about total superiority for either of them (even if one of them, had no particular interest). She kept herself from smiling blissfully, she had to continue to make her solemn announcement with the greatest of seriousness.

- I know myself that my time at the head of the kingdom, and yet, I had many projects, she admitted, unfortunately, my personal considerations matter little in this situation which is particularly exceptional, because it is not only the geopolitics of the kingdom, the direction, the policy and the administration of this one which are in stake but also the life of its residents, going from the Capital to those of the Downs, and even beyond...

"Beyond?", "In the afterlife?", "What does she mean by that?" could be heard among the crowd.

- May this decision have an influence on the whole of Fayiera Terra!

There were some protests because, being a land with few ties to other countries, cities or city-states, the inhabitants did not want to hear that their decisions depended on the opinions - or the lives - of others outside the Fairy Forest. What they feared most in the world was losing their sovereignty.

- Must I remind you of the importance of the legend of the hero in our lives? she declared in an imposing voice, nothing and no one can go against Fate without leaving feathers..., said Audisélia with sadness, and it is to fulfill this unknown destiny that these young people are going to have to fight, to prove that one of their protégés is worthy of being on this throne on which I gave myself thoroughly for the good of my citizens and to save the world! she declared with fervour.

This fervor was transmitted to the crowd who understood that the fights were about to begin. Even if they didn't understand the importance of this changeover, they knew that they would leave it alone for a long time during the tournament. At the same time, they couldn't concentrate because all these people were waiting for one thing: to see the blood flow.

- I declare the tournament for my succession to the throne of the Fairy Forest, Sylvania, open!
