Chapter 132: Primum's True Nature

"How fitting…" James muttered as he stared at a wall filled with human skulls. Next to it was a small door that had been hidden with several layers of spells, so Muggles would never notice it even if they passed next to it a thousand times.

The catacombs of Paris were a famous tourist attraction, and many people came through here every day. Although the part that James was currently in was a bit outside the normal route.

The visiting hours were long over, so he had to sneak in using magic. It was ridiculously easy to do.

And so it was to remove the protections on the door where the necromancers were supposedly hidden.

He opened the entrance and walked inside. It was much more spacious than he expected. Right after entering, he found a massive chamber, at least thirty feet tall and wide.

"Dimensional Expanding charms. Whoever created this place must have been quite skilled."

James removed his white ring.

"Kyu!" The chimera flew into the air with excitement.

He took out a small rock from his pocket and threw it at him. "Here, Primum, eat a snack."

Primum happily munched on the rock. It was a small 'Arkstone' that had been filled with enough magic to power to make the wards of an average house, work for around six months.

James would buy empty ones and use the magic from Hogwarts to fill them up. It was much cheaper this way.

"Kyu!" His blue eyes began to shine and his size grew several times over.

"Go say hi to the necromancers." James pointed at the door located at the end of the chamber.

As he walked forward, Primum roared and charged against the wooden door, turning it into smithereens and breaking part of the wall.

A loud commotion erupted on the other side, but James continued to approach at a calm pace while performing scans with his wand.

"Ten… eleven… no, there are more. It's hard to get a good reading with all that nasty magic trapped inside." At least he was sure that Primum was going to take a few of them down by himself.

A closed environment like this one was the perfect arena for the creature.

Primum stood on top of the remnants of the door while several individuals in red robes came running toward him.

"Intruder!"

"What is that beast? Is that a young dragon?"

"Kill it!"

Primum knew exactly what he had to do thanks to his mental connection with James. These people were his Master's enemies and had to be eliminated.

The chimera inhaled and opened its mouth.

"Careful! It's going to breathe fire!" one of the necromancers yelled.

The others hurried to take cover behind columns and large pieces of furniture.

However, no fire came from Primum's mouth. Despite his looks, this was not a dragon, but a combination of many magical creatures. There were two particular creatures that had the strongest influence in this chimera.

The first one was known as the Nundu.

Dark green smoke emerged from Primum's mouth and began to fill the secondary chamber.

The three wizards in there felt the effects of the smoke almost immediately.

"Cough, cough!... What is this…" One of them covered his mouth when he saw the nasty-looking smoke seeping from beneath the furniture he was using as cover.

The two other wizards had already collapsed on the floor after breathing just a tiny bit of Primum's poisonous breath.

The last one tried to escape and warn his companions but couldn't even get to the next door before falling victim to the poison inside his body.

A few seconds later, more wizards dressed in similar robes opened the door and saw what was happening.

"What happened here?."

"Poison!, don't breath it!," Someone yelled.

"Cleanse the air, hurry!" the one in charge ordered immediately when he saw the smoke.

"Who did this?" He looked around the room but could not find the culprit anywhere. He just saw the broken entrance and nothing more.

"This doesn't look like the work of Aurors. They would never use poison as a weapon," another one of the wizards said.

The leader shook his head. Of course they weren't Aurors. But it wasn't like they lacked enemies. "Find the intruders."

"They must have escaped," someone suggested.

The leader pointed at the broken entrance. "Then hurry! We cannot allow anyone who knows the location of this place to escape with their lives."

Four more wizards ran toward the entrance chamber where James was in.

Right as they were passing by the rubble, the white ring that was on the ground began to stir and transformed back into the full-sized Primum.

"Roar!"

One of the wizards fell to the floor while the other three froze in shock.

Primum was able to transform back into his ring form if he wanted to, and was intelligent enough to use this feature for a surprise attack.

"Chomp!" His large mouth closed around the head of the wizard who fell, ripping it from his shoulders in one bite.

"D-dragon!" one of them yelled.

"Move!" the leader shouted while aiming his wand at Primum. "Avada Keda—ahh!"

A ball of fire came out of nowhere, and he was forced to duck in order to avoid it.

"Master! Above you," another one of his followers warned from behind.

When the leader glanced up, he saw a tiny creature floating in the air. "A fairy?" First a dragon with poison breath, and now a fairy who could throw fireballs. He had no idea what was going on anymore.

"Ahh!" The three necromancers near the entrance screamed as Primum began to chase them.

"Fulmen." Nyxaris made a gesture with her tiny hands, and powerful sparks of electricity were conjured in front of her before combining into a bolt of lightning that shot toward one of the necromancers in front of her.

"Seal the gate! We need to wake them up!" the leader shouted as he ran away.

As his followers did what he asked, he saw Primum using his claws and fangs to tear apart the other two wizards.

"Master!"

"What do we do?" his followers asked.

The leader was trying his best not to show his despair. He had no idea who they had offended to deserve this attack.

"We have monsters too… let's revive them. They will take care of this problem."

None of them saw the silvery liquid seeping from beneath the door…
