"So what are we supposed to do now? We can't kill them, but we can't save them either." Zara muttered, looking awkwardly toward Emilia's group.
At that moment, Tom, who had been lying unconscious on the ground, suddenly twitched a little.
He opened his eyes, looking around at everyone with a confused expression. When his gaze landed on the child beside Drake, he instinctively trembled slightly.
"Oh, you're awake!" Zara exclaimed. "How are you feeling? Are you okay?"
Not only Zara but everyone else turned their attention toward Tom as well.
Tom flinched a bit, instinctively clenching his hand — but then he noticed something. His skin was wrinkled, lacking elasticity, as if a layer of flesh had peeled away.
He gasped as if terrified by what he saw. "W-What happened to me?! Why do I look like this?!" He couldn't help but look toward Saphen, assuming the boy had done something to him.
Jessica narrowed her eyes and asked, "Do you remember what happened today?"
