After the last dance wrapped up with a messy group sway to "I Want It That Way," the photo booth turned into a riot. People crowded around, trading props and pushing each other in and out of frame like kids at a carnival.
Max and Alex slipped in first, her tiara slightly crooked and his tie now being worn as a headband. They took classic shots: funny faces, kisses on the cheeks, fake fights, and both middle fingers up. Then Scarlett and Lilly squeezed in, one on each side of Alex like they were claiming him for a sitcom pilot. The three of them grinned, posed, then all gave their best smolder at the same time, kissed his cheeks from both sides while Alex made a surprised expression. Then Caroline joined in and did the same thing with Alex. Max, from outside the booth, howled with laughter before joining in.
After that, they let the others go in and enjoy the moment.
Eventually, they crammed the entire diner crew in for one chaotic shot. People were half-sitting on each other, someone held up a chair, and someone else tossed confetti into the air at the last second. The final photo came out blurry, uneven, and absolutely perfect.
When the camera stopped flashing and the crowd had peeled away, tables were rolled in, and the second wave of the night began... food.
Long tables were lined with trays of everything from mini sliders and truffle fries to Korean BBQ skewers, dim sum baskets, giant bowls of pasta, sushi rolls, and a make-your-own nacho bar. A food truck was parked just outside the open back door, handing out churros and gourmet grilled cheese.
Max stood back for a second and watched it all unfold. People lined up with plates already overflowing. Someone tripped, caught their plate mid-air, and got a round of applause. The energy hadn't dipped... it had just shifted gears.
Han was sitting at one of the folding tables, still glowing from his earlier dance, scarfing down dumplings like they were a limited-time offer. Across the room, Oleg and Sophie had claimed a corner booth and were deep in their own bubble, sharing bites, leaning close, laughing so hard at something that Oleg accidentally snorted soda out of his nose. Sophie wiped it up with a napkin and kissed his cheek without missing a beat.
At another table, Earl and his bandmates were drinking from solo cups and going on about guitar tone and which version of "Dream On" was the best. Caroline had grabbed a giant slice of pizza and was walking around offering people bites, demanding feedback like she was hosting a food competition show.
Lilly and Scarlett sat opposite Alex and Max, eating their fried chicken and drinking classic lemonade. The conversation was just going on naturally, full of fun and jokes.
Alex noticed that Max's plate was almost empty, so he went and brought her a big burger with double cheese and double patty, fries, and more fried chicken wings. He handed her the plate and clinked his cup against hers.
"To the best birthday party-slash-prom this laundromat will ever see."
She smiled after sipping on her cocktail. "And to your unhealthy obsession with themes. But yeah... You pulled it off."
He leaned in. "You gonna remember this night?"
Max looked around. The people, the lights, the music still bumping under every breath, the glitter on her shoes, and the ridiculous photos in her pocket.
"I think this one's gonna be hard to forget."
Alex grinned. "Good. Because I've already got ideas for next year."
She rolled her eyes, but didn't argue.
...
By 1 a.m., the music had faded to background hum, and the last of the guests had stumbled out into the night, arms full of leftover cake and polaroids still warm from the printer. The once-wild prom floor was a mess of streamers, crushed glow sticks, and the faint smell of sugar and sweat.
Alex stood by the door, waving off the last straggler with a grin and a tired, half-hearted salute.
Inside, the space was almost unrecognizable. The crew he'd hired moved like clockwork, ten people sweeping through the chaos with practiced hands. Tables were folded, glitter vacuumed up, trash bagged, and carried out. Thirty minutes. That's all it took to erase the evidence of a party that had felt like a dream.
Max changed back to her usual T-shirt and jeans.
Everyone left...
Now, only five people remained.
Max lounged on a beanbag chair near the photo booth, holding the last slice of cake on a paper plate. Her tiara had migrated to the top of her foot, where it hung like a crown for her Converse. Caroline lay sprawled on the floor nearby, chewing a churro and watching the disco ball spin lazily.
Scarlett sat on the edge of a table, legs swinging, sipping a canned cold brew she found behind the punch station. Lilly was lying on top of a table, looking at the disco light.
Alex came back from the loading dock, brushing cake crumbs off his hoodie.
"Alright," he said. "Everyone got their take-home box? Cake? Props? Any emotional baggage we should address now, or...?"
"Nope," Caroline said through a mouthful of sugar. "Just the usual."
Max lifted her slice in a mock toast. "To emotional baggage. May it live quietly under our beds forever."
Lilly yawned. "If we sleep for a thousand years after this, does it still count as a weekend?"
Scarlett shrugged. "Only if someone kisses you awake. Preferably someone hot. Preferably not Oleg."
"Hey," Alex cut in, "Oleg's taken. Man's out there snoring in Sophie's car like a Viking hibernating."
Max looked around the empty space. All the magic stripped back to white walls and dusty floor tiles. It still felt like something sacred had happened here.
Alex walked over and dropped next to her on the beanbag. She leaned into him without thinking. He didn't say anything. Neither did she.
For a moment, the only sound was the distant rumble of a late-night train and the quiet creak of the disco ball still turning overhead.
Caroline broke the silence.
"So. What now?"
Max answered without moving. "Now we walk home like drunk fairy godmothers and try not to cry when we see the sunrise."
"So, everyone's tired, huh? And here I thought we'd play a couple rounds of Truth and Dare... With no limits rule. Well, sad. C'mon, let me drive you girls home," Alex said with a disappointed expression, but there was a sly look in his eyes that Max noticed.
"No limits, huh?" Caroline sat up like someone had just spiked her soda with adrenaline.
Scarlett's eyes lit up. "Wait, wait... like actual no limits?"
Alex raised an eyebrow. "I was joking, but clearly that was a tactical error."
Lilly swung her legs off the table and grinned. "Too late, golden boy. You said the words."
Max leaned forward, licking frosting off her thumb. "You better not back out now. You're the one who opened Pandora's after-dark party box."
Alex held up both hands. "Alright, alright. Truth or Dare, no limits. But if someone dares me to eat another slice of cake, I'm calling the cops."
Scarlett cracked her knuckles. "Oh, you wish it was just cake."
Within thirty seconds, someone had cleared off a table, someone else had drawn a circle in spilled glitter to mark "the arena," and all five of them had grabbed whatever drink was left in the cooler and dragged the chairs around and sat.
Alex placed an empty beer bottle in the middle of the circle on the table.
Max sat cross-legged, eyes already calculating. "We go clockwise. No skipping. You forfeit, you answer two truths in a row. No weak sauce."
Lilly rubbed her hands together. "This is the best part of any party. The unhinged cooldown."
Caroline looked around and grinned. "Okay, who's going first?"
Scarlett smirked. "Max should. Birthday rules. Spin the bottle, Max."
Max spun the bottle. It clinked against the glass tabletop, a whirl of recycled beer breath and bad ideas, slowing... slowing... and stopped.
On Caroline.
"Oh-ho," Max grinned. "Look at that. The gods have spoken. Truth or dare?"
Caroline licked her lips and leaned forward. "Dare."
Max didn't hesitate. "Give Scarlett a lap dance. Full thirty seconds. Bonus points for booty contact."
Scarlett blinked. "Excuse me?"
Caroline stood, stretched like a cat, and cracked her neck. "Ma'am. I was born for this."
Scarlett looked alarmed, but didn't move.
Music? Lilly grabbed her phone and queued up something bass-heavy. Caroline strutted over to Scarlett's chair, turned around, and dropped it low like a pro. She rolled her hips, ran her hands down her thighs, and slowly, way too slowly and arched her back against Scarlett's lap. The way she twerked made Alex slightly hard.
Scarlett's hands hovered in the air like she didn't know where to look. "This is harassment. I love it. Girl, you can dance... A+"
Max was laughing.
Alex clapped like someone witnessing a Broadway matinee.
Thirty seconds later, Caroline collapsed on her chair with a dramatic flourish. "Thank you for attending my TED talk."
Scarlett was still laughing. "You're insane."
"Facts."
Caroline spun the bottle next. This time, it landed on Alex.
"Truth or dare, golden boy?" she asked, grinning.
Alex didn't flinch. "Dare."
Caroline smirked. "Kiss the person on your left. That'd be Lilly."
"Cough!" Max choked.
Lilly turned red.
Scarlett cackled like she was possessed.
Alex leaned in close to Lilly, cupping her jaw with his hand. He looked deep into her eyes, like he was searching for permission, and when she nodded, he pressed his lips to hers.
It wasn't like in the movies. It was a gentle kiss, closed lips on closed lips. But Lilly felt the weight of it, the softness, the warmth, as she kissed him back, her heart beating like a hummingbird.
Then, as quickly as it began, it was over.
Alex pulled away, smiled at Lilly, and leaned back in his chair.
Caroline was staring at Lilly, wide-eyed, and Lilly realized she had no idea what her face was doing. Was she supposed to be happy? Angry? Excused?
Before anyone else could speak, Alex picked up the bottle and spun it hard.
The bottle spun wildly and landed on Scarlett.
She rolled her eyes. "Truth."
He smiled. "What's your biggest turn-on?"
Scarlett bit her lip. "I have a thing for... Just you know. Lying on the bed while someone paints me on the canvas." She gave him a knowing wink, remembering that night when Alex painted her portrait.
"Is that so?" Max smirked.
"Yep, and I think it's my turn now," Scarlett spun the bottle and watched it stop at Alex.
"Truth or Dare, Alex?" she asked.
"Hmmm. I'm going with Truth."
"Okay, I'm curious about what kind of boob size do you prefer?"
"I don't have a preference. I enjoy them all. Everyone has their own perks... Perky," He said the last part, looking at Lilly.
Lilly simply smiled, knowing very well what Alex meant by perky. She didn't say anything and spun the bottle next.
The bottle stopped at Max, who looked at Alex, then at Lilly, before leaning back with a smug look on his face.
"Dare."
"I dare you to show your boobs and rub it all over Alex's face," Lilly said, smiling mischievously.
"Ohhhh! Damn, Lilly! Didn't know you were this wild," Max said as she stood up, her face flushed with excitement. She took her T-shirt off and threw it on the floor, showing off her black lacy bra.
"So? What do you think, Lilly?" Max asked, cupping her big boobs. "Jealous much?" She winked before going over to Alex and rubbing her boobs all over his face, giving him a big hug.
"There you go," Max said, holding his head and shaking her boobs on his face. "A little reward for making my birthday party a blast."
'Holy shit!' Alex thought as his cock throbbed in his pants, just waiting to jump out. He was in heaven. After all that work, he deserve a little... no, he deserve two big boobs on his face.
After a few seconds, Max pulled back and sat on her chair, with just the bra on.
"You aren't going to put the shirt on?" Scarlett asked.
"Nah. I'll go like this. Let him enjoy the view," Max said while pointing at her bra.
And so the no limits game of truth and dare continued...
15 minutes later...
All the girls sat there topless and Alex shirtless. Scarlett felt a little shy, but she gathered courage not to show her weakness in front of her competitors. The drinks were almost finished and everyone was drunk, except Alex... All thanks to his super stamina.
As much as he'd have liked to have fun with them, he noticed how exhausted everyone looked.
"I think it's time to end the game," Alex suggested.
"Yea... I think I'm good for today," Scarlett replied, stretching her arms above her head and puffing her breasts out even more.
'HOT! HOT! HOT! PATIENCE!' Alex screamed in his mind, trying not to pounce on her.
"Yeah, I'm so sleepy," Lilly let out a large yawn. "Maybe we can continue this... You know, some other day when we aren't dead tired."
"Hell yeah! It was getting so much fun," Max gave her a thumbs up.
On the side, Caroline was already snoring on the table.
So, everyone dressed up, and Max helped Caroline put her clothes on. Although the girls wanted to go further, their bodies and the booze made it difficult. After that, they walked out of the building as Alex locked it. Luckily, Alex brought his SUV today, so more rooms. He helped the girls get in. Caroline first. Alex carried her to the car.
Lilly and Scarlett got the back seat, beside sleeping Caroline. And Max got the front seat beside Alex.
The ride home was very quiet, no one spoke a single word. Even Alex, who was driving the car, didn't try to break the silence. Everyone was too tired, with alcohol pumping through their veins. He dropped them one by one, Scarlett was closest, then Lilly and then he drove straight to his penthouse with Max and Caroline.
