Chapter 117 - Chapter 117. Eh? You have a sister

After breakfast, Hozuki Nozomi casually mentioned to Chihiro Sengoku that he might be expecting a rather unexpected guest.

"Eh? You have a sister?" Chihiro blinked in surprise, tilting her head as she dried the dishes.

"Apparently," Nozomi replied. "Her name is... Hozuki Yūki, I think."

"You think? What do you mean 'you think'? Are you not even sure yourself~?" Chihiro gave him a deadpan stare, raising an eyebrow as she tossed a dishcloth over her shoulder.

"I just found out about her, okay?" Nozomi scratched his cheek awkwardly.

This whole situation was bizarre.

The girl had introduced herself as his childhood fiancée. Apparently, they'd been betrothed since they were kids. Not that he remembered any of that.

Sure, his current name was Hozuki Nozomi, and hers was supposedly Hozuki Yūki…

But that similarity made things even weirder.

Could it just be a coincidence?

He furrowed his brow as he recalled his own origin. He wasn't originally from this world, after all. He was a time traveler—a reincarnator from Earth.

So where on earth did this so-called little sister or fiancée come from?

Could it be some secret setting of the No Game No Life-esque system that had brought him here?

The name "Yūki" tickled his memory.

He remembered an anime from his past life. One of the most elegant heroines in school drama anime—Suo Yuki.

And oddly enough, in this world, there was a real Suo family. A distinguished and noble clan, on par with the likes of the Shinomiya and Yukinoshita households.

Could this mystery girl claiming to be his sister really be that Suo Yuki?

Everything was still speculation for now. He'd get his answers when she finally arrived at Sakurasou.

==========================

Meanwhile, across town in the grand living room of the Yukinoshita estate…

Yukinoshita Shino, the elegant matriarch of the Yukinoshita family, sat calmly in her traditional kimono, legs folded beneath her as she sipped tea. Across from her sat her eldest daughter, Yukinoshita Haruno, legs crossed, posture relaxed and modern.

"You've been quite busy lately, haven't you, Haruno?" her mother asked, gaze sharp despite her polite tone. "Booking flights, setting up a company…"

Haruno smiled, calm as ever. "Well, I was born to work hard. It's in my blood, kaa-san."

Of course, she didn't bother to explain why she was doing all of it.

If her mother truly wanted to know, she would find out sooner or later.

Mrs. Yukinoshita, however, merely gave a mysterious smile.

"If you don't go and secure him soon… don't come crying to me if the engagement gets complicated."

Haruno narrowed her eyes playfully. "Mother, you're more anxious than I am. I'm the one engaged, remember?"

"But I still don't quite understand why you're so fixated on Nozomi. He's talented, sure, but he's… unpredictable."

Her mother's lips curled slightly.

"That's because he was once the legal heir of the Suo family."

"...Eh?" Haruno's expression faltered for a moment, eyes wide.

"He was, I said," Mrs. Yukinoshita clarified. "Now, he's an abandoned child—unrecognized, cast aside by the very clan that raised him."

Haruno leaned in, intrigued.

"But if the Suo family ever found out what kind of power the boy they discarded now wields… they might weep tears of regret."

Her mother's eyes glinted. "His name—Nozomi—follows his mother's family name. But his real name... is supposedly Suo Masachika."

"Suo… Masachika...?"

"Yes. And his fiancée from childhood, Suo Yūki, is now the current heir of the Suo family. She's about the same age as Yukino and is said to be outstanding in every regard."

Haruno let out a low whistle, twirling a strand of hair. "You could've just said she's better than Yukino."

"In social dealings," her mother nodded, "ten Yukinos couldn't compete with Yūki. Where Yukino is cold and aloof, a tsundere ice princess… Yūki is elegant, graceful, the very model of a noble lady. She even served as student council president in middle school."

Mrs. Yukinoshita set down her teacup.

"It's said the Suo family inherited a shrine that raised divine children. Nozomi and Yūki were once among them. But after an accident, Nozomi lost his position as a child of the gods… and with it, his place in the clan."

Haruno's expression turned serious.

"Wait… is that where his strange abilities come from? His divine lineage?"

"Most likely," her mother nodded. "But regardless of his origins, from this point forward, he is to become the son-in-law of the Yukinoshita family."

Haruno let out a soft sigh and gave a wry smile.

"He's kind of... slippery, though."

"Then use your charm. Make him fall. Bind him down with your allure," her mother instructed with a cool finality. "No matter what methods you must use—he will be yours. Understood?"

"Understood," Haruno replied obediently… but her mind was already spinning.

But what if he falls for Yukino instead? Would you still be this composed, Mother?

A trio route involving the Yukinoshita sisters… was that even on the table?

Haruno was, after all, a shameless siscon.

If it meant she could stay by Yukino's side forever, she might just accept it.

It all depended on whether her flirtatious, unpredictable fiancé could break through Yukino's ice-cold defenses.

---------

"Ah…choo!"

Back at school, Yukinoshita Yukino sneezed suddenly, shivering a little.

"…I should've worn another layer," she murmured, pulling her jacket tighter around her as a chill ran down her spine.

Somewhere, someone was definitely talking about her.

Probably her meddling onee-san.

Again.

Back to our protagonist—Hozuki Nozomi, not some ordinary guy, but the center of a slowly unfolding mystery that even he doesn't fully understand.

Nozomi was still oblivious to the weight behind his mysterious identity as the so-called "Son of God." But honestly? He wasn't too bothered by it. Life at Sakurasou had a rhythm of its own, and right now, he was more focused on living in the moment. After escorting Mashiro to Suimei High School, which was conveniently close to Sakurasou, he hopped on the train alongside Shiina Mahiru and Sanshokuin Sumireko.

Fate, or maybe just coincidence, had something else in store.

Just a few steps onto the platform, and they ran into Hazuki Yasuo and his usual companions once again. The air was polite but distant.

"Ohayō," Yasuo greeted with a stiff smile, nodding toward Nozomi.

Nozomi returned the greeting with a subtle nod. No need to stir the pot. Things were complicated enough.

Yasuo, ever the handsome ikemen type, had a complicated look etched across his face. Nozomi could guess why. The guy had just realized that both Sakurahara Momo and Tsukimi—his senior and his childhood friend—seemed to be a bit too fond of Nozomi. They had even agreed to go out with him this coming weekend.

Still, the girls hadn't changed their attitude toward Yasuo at all. They acted like nothing had shifted in the dynamic. That left the poor guy confused—were they just being nice, or did they really not mind him being caught in the middle?

It reminded Nozomi of the way Hayama Hayato had always danced around Miura Yumiko's feelings back in the day. Indecision wrapped in politeness.

To be fair, Yasuo was a textbook nice guy. Someone who valued friendship too much to ruin it with romance that wasn't mutual. That's why, despite having feelings for Sumireko (who was already dating Nozomi), he had never made a move. He had only asked Nozomi to have a fair competition.

But Nozomi had made one thing clear.

"You're the kind of guy Sumireko hates the most."

That statement had clearly left a mark on Yasuo. The idea that he—Mr. Good Guy—could be despised was absurd to him. But what he didn't understand was that being nice isn't the same as being genuine. Yasuo couldn't see that Momo and Tsukimi's smiles might not be as pure as he thought. He couldn't believe that those two, who were always sweet and gentle around him, could ever act differently behind his back.

Nozomi could see through the cracks in Yasuo's demeanor. The worry in his eyes, the hesitancy in his movements. But he didn't say anything more. He'd already told him the truth—if he chose to ignore it, that was on him.

After all, Nozomi wasn't some petty villain out to crush a good guy. But that didn't mean he would let anyone—especially a wishy-washy rival—hover around his woman. Sometimes, the best way to deal with someone isn't through conflict, but by letting them spiral into self-awareness.

Yasuo was on that path now. And if he kept hesitating, he would lose both Sakurahara Momo and Tsukimi. That's the fate of a light novel protagonist who can't make up his mind.

...…

At school, Yasuo still played the perfect student. Friendly, helpful, and effortlessly charismatic. He had all the traits people liked. If someone asked for help with their homework or project, Yasuo would jump in like a dependable senpai.

But that also made him the perfect tool.

Nozomi chuckled at the thought.

Even so, Tsukimi kept him in check. Her cold glares kept other students from abusing Yasuo's kindness too much. High schoolers may be dense, but no one wanted to get roasted by a pretty girl in front of the whole class.

During recess, Nozomi chilled with his angelic girlfriend Mahiru. Their conversation turned toward Mashiro and her continued quest to steal food off everyone's plate.

Nozomi scratched the back of his head, a bit sheepish. "I think Mashiro cheated again during breakfast."

Mahiru rolled her eyes and gave him a light nudge.

"Honestly, you spoil her too much."

Despite her tone, Mahiru didn't really mind. She knew Mashiro was fragile—raised in a pressure-cooker environment that valued her talents over her personhood. She had been molded to be an art machine, devoid of basic life skills. Compared to her own messed-up upbringing, Mashiro's was just as tragic.

Mahiru had no problem sharing a little food or a little attention. If anything, she was glad Mashiro had someone like Nozomi. He might act dense, but his instincts for taking care of people were top-tier. He made her feel safe, cherished—even if he sometimes acted less like a boyfriend and more like a walking cheat code.

Just thinking about it made her cheeks turn pink.

Their moment of peace didn't last long.

Out of nowhere, Tsukimi approached Nozomi during the long break after the second period. Her expression was shy, her eyes glittering with unspoken emotion.

"Ano… Hozuki-san," she said softly. "Can I talk to you in private? Just for a little bit."

The class collectively held their breath.

Nozomi blinked. Not again.

He could feel the burning stares of every guy in the classroom drilling into his skull. The beautiful, big-breasted, soft-spoken Tsukimi—the class's unofficial Yamato Nadeshiko—was asking him for a private chat.

The boys' expressions screamed: "Bro, are you serious?!"

Some were in disbelief. Others looked like they were ready to cry. Was there no limit to how many girls Nozomi could attract?

One even muttered under his breath, "Did he sign a contract with a succubus or something?!"

Nozomi sighed internally. Here we go again...

It wasn't even lunchtime, and already the harem route flags were popping up like weeds.

Explanation time.......

Yuki Suou (周防すおう 有希ゆき Suō Yuki? ) is one of the main characters in the series. She is a first-year student at Seirei Private Academy, serving as the Public Relations officer for the student council. Yuki is widely regarded as one of the two most beautiful girls in her grade, alongside Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou, and is known as the Noble Princess

Due to her exceptional social skills and sophisticated behaviour, she was known as the Noble Princess, while Alisa was referred to as the Solitary Princess by the other students. These nicknames were given based on their beauty. At school, she is seen as Masachika's childhood friend. Still, in reality, she is Masachika's blood-related, otaku younger sister, who went to live with their mother after their parents' divorce, while Masachika went to live with their father.

Masachika Kuze (久世くぜ 政近まさちか Kuze Masachika? ) is the main male protagonist of the series. He is a first-year student at Seirei Private Academy, serving as a General Affairs member for the student council.

When he was under the care of his grandfather back in elementary school, he was able to understand Russian due to his grandfather making him watch a lot of Russian movies, about 20 or so. Masachika himself has never been to Russia before, nor does he have any relatives who live there. He also never mentioned his ability to understand Russian at school, so the only person who knows of his skills is his little sister Yuki in the neighbouring class.

Masachika was once a part of the Suou household, however, when his father and mother divorced he chose to leave with his father, Kyoutarou Kuze, instead of staying with his sister Yuki. As a result, the head of the Suou family, Gensei, removed him and Kyoutarou from the family name and forbade Masachika and Yuki to let anyone know that Yuki is his biological sister.

While he may appear like a nobody on the surface, he has a heavy past and many unresolved issues. He hides his lack of self-esteem, which is often the reason why he is unable to respond to other people's feelings or his own. Many of the things he was taught and raised to assist him in life but also in becoming the next head of the Suou household; striving for his academics, the creative arts and such, were nothing but to earn him the praise he wanted to hear so badly, but in the end, ended up losing more, resulting in a guilty and heavy mind.

Kyoutarou Kuze (久世くぜ 恭太郎きょうたろう Kuze Kyōtarō? ) is a supporting character in the series. He is the son of Tomohisa Kuze and Asae Kuze, the husband of Yumi Suou, and the father of Masachika Kuze and Yuki Suou.

He met and started dating his now former wife, Yumi Suou, in high school but gave up his dream of becoming a police officer. Instead he chose the path of politics and became a diplomat in order to be together with Yumi. Years later after having Masachika and Yuki, he and Yumi both chose to divorce and go on different paths due to their relationship breaking apart. The reasons being of the Suou household's strictness, alongside the burden and expectations that Gensei Suou had put on Masachika. He was working as a diplomat for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and now recently began working at the diplomatic establishment abroad at the Embassy of Japan in the UK. With him already being home rarely due to his work, with his new workplace - he will be coming home less.

During the school sports festival, Kyoutarou came to visit but when he heard the collapse of his ex-wife there too, he went on to comfort her in the school's infirmary, later (though not knowing) his son would discover the two together again. Afterwards during dinner, he admits to Masachika that he still loves his mother, despite the two divorced.

Lemme clarify that the name Hozuki Nozomi was chosen by yours truly randomly, I wasn't aware of his hidden ackground because I'm reading/editing it as I go.

Therefore, the MC's original name should be Suo Masachika.

Attached is Suo Yuki.
