When Hazuki and Elvia arrived at the orphanage, the morning sun had already brightened the yard.
The door creaked open as they stepped in.
"Elvia!!" a voice called out.
Chasia ran toward her, eyes wide with relief but stopped short the moment she saw the black-haired man beside her.
Hazuki stood there, relaxed as always, his hands in his pockets and an unreadable look on his face.
"Umm… m-morning…" Chasia mumbled, glancing up at him.
"...Oh," Hazuki said flatly. "Morning."
Then he looked down at Elvia, who was still holding his hand until just a moment ago.
"Oi, little elf. Go wash up and change. Your dress is filthy."
"Umm… okay," Elvia nodded obediently.
Hazuki turned and casually walked away, heading toward the town.
Elvia stood at the door, still watching him.
Smiling.
"…What's with the smile, Elvia?" Chasia asked, tilting her head.
Elvia blinked.
Then looked at her and gave a soft shrug.
"Nothing~"
