Retracting her gaze from the brown wooden wheels, Astrid held Amalia's hand and walked back, while Elise followed silently behind the two princesses with a parasol.

Inside the carriage, Lyra lifted the curtain and looked at the gradually receding palace gate, her clear blue eyes reflecting the flowing light like water.
