Days passed, and in the blink of an eye, two weeks had gone by since the onset of the extreme cold.
The temperature had dropped to -30 degrees, making life increasingly difficult for the residents.
Fortunately, the snowstorm had finally ceased, allowing the residents to venture out of their homes in search of items to help them combat the frigid conditions.
Though living was unbearable, humans found ways to adapt to the harsh weather.
They began collecting snow for drinking water and cutting down nearby trees for firewood.
Most of them were doing their best to survive, but there were still some who sought an easier way by robbing others, and worse, killing them to take their supplies.
It became the norm for people to be indifferent and afraid of getting on others' bad sides. They watched from the sidelines, apathetic to who might perish.
For they had only one motto: 'Mind your own business.'
