Yang Changtian suddenly spotted a flash of blue high up in a tree nearby , he immediately focused on the tree. He sighed before breaking out in a small smile , " Found her ! ".
He wordlessly rushed over to the tree , Li Cheng and Lv Ling following close behind.
Yang Changtian stopped under the tree and he leapt up , landing on a branch , he carefully approached Liu Ying who was still sleeping , he crept up to her and crouched down . He slowly reached out and grabbed Liu Ying's shoulder , " Ms. Liu wake up. Wake up Ms. Liu," he shook her slowly.
After a while Liu Ying whined and cracked her eyes open , seeing Yang Changtian right in front of her startled her and she accidently smacked her head against the tree trunk.
Yang Changtian hurriedly reached out to massage her head , " Oh dear ! Are you okay Ms. Liu ? I'm sorry I startled you."
Liu Ying pouted and wacked Yang Changtian's hand away, rubbing her head.
Yang Changtian chuckled softly , " Come on I'll help you down , everyone's looking for you."
Liu Ying shook her head and leaped down herself , when she landed Lv Ling rushed over and hugged her tightly , " Ms. Liu thank god ! I was so worried about you ! "
Liu Ying softly patted Lv Ling on the back , " I'm sorry for starling you all ."
Yang Changtian also leaped down the tree and Li Cheng walked over to them.
" Goodness Ms. Liu ! What in the world were you doing on that tree ? "
" When the peat solution was done yesterday , I filtered it and I couldn't go back to sleep , so I headed outside to get some air and I saw that the sky was exceptionally clear , so I climbed the tree to admire the sky for a while, but I fell asleep, " Liu Ying explained meekly.
Li Cheng and Lv Ling were stunned for a while , but soon the both of them burst out laughing .
Liu Ying's face flushed red embarrassed , " Again I apologize for causing you all so much trouble."
Yang Changtian waved his hand , " It's okay Ms. Liu , please don't beat yourself over this."
" Jin Wei ! Da Xiong ! She's here ! " Li Cheng turned around and yelled.
Almost immediately the flap of their tent flew open and Jin Wei rushed out followed by Da Xiong , seeing Liu Ying , Jin Wei ran over and he began to check her . " Senior ! What happened ? Are you hurt ? Let me see ! " he began to fuss. Da Xiong also joined him in checking how Liu Ying was doing. Seeing nothing wrong, each of them grabbed Liu Ying by the arms , " Senior where were you ? What happened ? Were you attacked ? "
With each question Liu Ying's face got redder ,and Li Cheng and Yang Changtian's smirks grew bigger.
" You're Senior wanted to admire the starry sky , so she climbed a tree and fell asleep, " Li Cheng informed them.
Jin Wei and Da Xiong froze , turning around slowly to shoot Liu Ying a look of disbelief.
" Senior ! Do you know how much you scared me , I almost fainted with worry. I ran around the whole village yelling. "
" Yeah Senior he yelled so loud , I think the people over at Jingxi heard him, " Da Xiong emphasized.
" I'm sorry , " Liu Ying apologized quietly.
Jin Wei and Da Xiong sighed , then both of them began to laugh. Soon Yang Changtian and Li Cheng also joined , and Liu Ying's face only got redder , finally she snapped.
Doing a loud , " HMMMMPPPHHH ! " she stomped back to her tent.
Lv Ling shot Yang Changtian and Li Cheng a nasty look and she slapped Jin Wei and Da Xiong's shoulders hard.
" Owww ! What was that for ?! " Jin Wei whined.
Lv Ling just shot them a nasty look before quickly following Liu Ying .
" Did we go too far ? " Yang Changtian asked, turning to Li Cheng , " I couldn't help myself ."
Li Cheng nodded , " Me too , it's the first time she's done something like this after she tripped last time. But I must say , moments like this make her seem more human. By the way this reminded me of something , do you remember something just like this happened with Older Sister . "
Yang Changtian turned to look at Li Cheng , " Yes if I remember correctly , she was busy for multiple days picking and making lotus tea , so she fell asleep on the large tree by the main hall while watching the stars just like this ."
Li Cheng nodded, " I thought she was the only person to do something that dumb and make it seem lovable , but here we are. Well I'm off to have some breakfast . Jin Wei ! Da Xiong ! Join me ."
The three of them walked over to the dining area but Yang Changtian was frozen in place.
Now that Li Cheng pointed it out , Hei Jingyou always had this habit , and while Liu Ying and Hei Jingyou were completely different people , sometimes they overlap and they appear so similar to one another.
Yang Changtian shook his head ," I'm overthinking again , if Jingyou was Liu Ying , she wouldn't keep herself hidden. She wouldn't do something like that," he reminded himself while rushing over to catch up with Li Cheng and the others.
But alas the truth was far from that , because that's exactly something Hei Jingyou would do .
Liu Ying burst into her tent and jumped into her bed , burying her head in the pillow. Lv Ling followed close by and almost burst out laughing when she saw Liu Ying acting childish.
" Ms. Liu, those assholes didn't mean to make fun of you."
Liu Ying grumbled something into her pillow , unfortunately the sound was muffled , so Lv Ling moved closer to hear . Liu Ying kept groaning.
" They were being mean ? Yes, I agree. You didn't mean to fall asleep ? Yes I know , you must've been so exhausted. You didn't hear a single shout ? That's understandable ," Lv Ling kept pacifying her.
And eventually Liu Ying stopped her groaning and lifted her head , her hair was somewhat disheveled. Lv Ling brushed the stray pieces of hair away and patted her lead. " Come on , Lady Hei , we have a long day ahead , we have to test that solution out."
Liu Ying pouted but she stood up , " I have to change , " she said looking at Lv Ling.
Lv Ling immediately understood and she headed outside waiting at the entrance of the tent. She's heard so many stories from her mother about Hei Jingyou and Yang Changtian , and she new that they began training when they were very young , but while Yang Changtian managed to enjoy his childhood , running around and causing chaos , Hei Jingyou always had to remain the mature and level headed one , missing most of if not all of her childhood. So seeing her behave childishly was a breath of fresh air. Maybe this change of identity is a good thing after all.
After a while Liu Ying exited the tent . She had changed into a simple and tight dark blue robe , pinning her hair up using a silver crown. This outfit exemplified her masculinity , making her seem like a handsome young man. " Dr. Lv , when we get there I'll go with Jin Wei and Da Xiong to get the sample ready , you have to go help Mr. Yang and Mr. Li out."
Lv Ling nodded, " Sure but why do they need me ? "
" They hope to conduct hypnosis on the prisoners."
" But Sister Liu , aren't you a better fit for that job ? "
Liu Ying shook her head , " While I do know hypnosis , my technique requires them to be in a complete state of relaxation , and it is also more intense. So it would be better for you to do it."
Lv Ling and Liu Ying headed to the dining area and they saw Jin Wei and Da Xiong eating happily with Li Cheng and Yang Changtian.
Jin Wei was about to take a bite out of his food again , when he felt a shiver run up his spine. He turned to Da Xiong who also happened to turn towards him , they both gave each other a glance . They had both felt it and it was getting stronger. The whole area was getting colder by the second. They gulped and slowly turned around. And there she was , her sharp eyes somehow looked sharper , and she was glaring right at them .
" Se….Se…..Senior ! " Jin Wei leaped up startling Yang Changtian and Li Cheng who also froze when they saw the angry Liu Ying.
Liu Ying walked up to them slowly , each step painfully slow yet calculated like a panther stalking its prey.
Jin Wei and Da Xiong gulped again and they slowly got up , fully intending to escape , but they were stopped by the two cold hands pulling them by the ear.
" Ahhhhh Senior ! That hurts," Jin Wei wailed.
" Senior, we're sorry , " Da Xiong added.
" You two sure had a blast laughing at me huh , " Liu Ying sneered. " Get up and follow me ! Dr. Lv , please lend Mr. Yang and Mr. Li a hand ," she then turned to Li Cheng and Yang Changtian , " Mr. Yang and Mr. Li , I shall talk with you later, " she simply stated smiling , a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.
Yang Changtian and Li Cheng looked at each other before gulping . Liu Ying dragged Jin Wei and Da Xiong by their ears over to the underground cellar. " Bring me the keys."
" Senior, what are you planning to do ? " Jin Wei asked, rubbing his ear.
" Getting a test subject, now get me the keys or I'll make you the test subject."
Jin Wei and Da Xiong rushed off , almost immediately coming back with the keys. They handed the keys over , " How will we catch the Crazy Senior ? "
" We won't be catching him , you two stay out here."
" But-" they began to plead but Liu Ying waved them off .
"I'm more than capable of fighting a mere Crazy on my own ,so stay here."
Liu Ying walked over to the entrance and she unlocked the big padlock , when she opened the cellar , a low animalistic growl escaped . Liu Ying calmly stepped inside and closed the door behind her.
Jin Wei and Da Xiong looked at each other , sighing as they both sat down.
The growls from inside got louder and they heard some bangs. Thinking that Liu Ying was in trouble , Jin Wei and Da Xiong slammed the door open and rushed in.
" Senior, we're here ! "
But what they saw made this freeze mid-step.
Liu Ying was holding the Crazy over her head, she glanced at them briefly before slamming the Crazy on the floor , causing another loud bang.
Jin Wei and Da Xiong watched in horror as Liu Ying approached the Crazy who was desperately trying to get away. She grabbed the Crazy by its neck and walked towards them dragging the Crazy along.
" As I said before I don't need any help , now make way , I need to get this thing outside."
Jin Wei and Da Xiong quickly stopped outside , and they continued to stare at Liu Ying who exited the cellar still dragging the Crazy behind her.
Jin Wei gulped hard , " I somehow feel bad for that Crazy , " Da Xiong added and Jin Wei nodded in agreement.
" Come on , we're supposed to help her ."
The two of them stumbled out of the cellar following Liu Ying , who was still dragging the Crazy behind her.
People stopped to stare at this comical sight , Liu Ying had a cold and unimpressed expression , while dragging a Crazy who was actively trying to get away , behind her. Jin Wei and Da Xiong followed soon, keeping a safe distance from the thrashing Crazy.
" Man that poor Crazy ," one person whispered.
" They sure are some eccentric individuals , " another said.
" Jin Wei ! Is the waterhole ready ? " Liu Ying barked.
" Yes Senior ! I asked to fill it up in the morning. They should be done by now."
" What about the cage I asked you all to make ? "
" Is it done too Senior , " Da Xiong replied.
" Good , let's go over there. Jin Wei led the way ! "
Jin Wei hurried over and he led Liu Ying in the direction of the small pond / waterhole they dug.
Yang Changtian and Li Cheng waited for Lv Ling to finish eating before heading over to the woodshed. On their way there they also came across this curious scene.
Li Cheng winced, feeling the Crazy's pain , while Yang Changtian looked speechless. Lv Ling was just amused.
" Should we ask ? " Li Cheng asked, turning to Yang Changtian.
" What is she up to ? " Yang Changtian asked, turning to Lv Ling.
Lv Ling just shrugged , " She said she was going to perform some tests , she's likely getting the test subject ready. She asked me to join her when I'm done helping you gentlemen"
Yang Changtian just shook his head , " Let's hurry up , or she'll be dragging one of us next , come on Li Cheng."
Li Cheng put his hands together and prayed for the Crazy before following Yang Changtian and Lv Ling inside the shed.
The three of them entered the shed , and inside were the 4 women , tied up sitting in 4 different corners. Lv Ling slowly pulled out a small coin that had a string tied to it , she approached one of them women and crouched down in front of her. Then she began to swing the coin methodically . The woman's eyes followed each swing , left and right, left and right , left and right. But the woman was looking at her warily.
After a while Lv Ling snapped her fingers , but seeing that the woman didn't react, she turned around softly and shook her head.
Lv Ling tried with the other women too , only to end up with the same result. Lv Ling walked over to Yang Changtian and Li Cheng , " Ms. Liu was right , they are in a state of wary not relaxation, so it's hard to hypnotize them."
Yang Changtian sighed and nodded, " Thank you for trying Dr. Lv , you better go help Liu Ying now."
Lv Ling nodded and walked off.
Li Cheng sighed and turned to Yang Changtian . " Brother Yang , what will we do now ? "
Yang Changtian shook his head , " I don't know Li Cheng , but I'll try to think of something ."
Li Cheng nodded , " Say Brother Yang , now that we don't have anything else to do , should we go over and see what Ms. Liu is doing ? "
" You want to go see her tests ? " Yang Changtian asked with his eyebrow raised.
Li Cheng nodded eagerly.
It was true that they didn't have anything else to do now , and he wanted to see what Liu Ying was up to too , so Yang Changtian agreed , together they walked over to the medic tent.
Meanwhile, Jin Wei rushed over to the water hole , Liu Ying still dragging the Crazy behind her. Just as she ordered , a relatively large hole was dug and the walls were coated with clay to make it a waterhole. A few centimeters away from the water hole , a square trench was dug , and four corners were dug deeper than the rest of the trench, this was to allow them to secure the cage . Jin Wei had everyone carry buckets of water over to fill it. Beside it was a strong and sturdy looking cage made from bamboo and other wood , the cage had an open bottom with four poles extending from the corners ; it would be placed over the waterhole and the poles would be eased into the four pits of the trench to secure it ,locking the Crazy inside , while still allowing them to get close and observing what was going on inside.
Liu Ying wanted to recreate the possible reactions of the Crazy when it is thrown into the water , so she didn't want to restrict it in a full cage.
" Da Xiong , Jin Wei ! Get some people and have them carry the cage over , and when I throw this thing inside , close the water hole quickly."
" Yes Senior ! " Jin Wei and Da Xiong answered in unison . Jin Wei quickly harried over to get some Juniors.
Seconds later he returned, and the Juniors were shocked to see Liu Ying clutching a Crazy by the neck. This mission had made them respect and fear their Senior more and seeing this only made them more afraid.
" Come on , we haven't got all day ! " Jin Wei urged them.
Da Xiong and the newcomers all lifted the heavy cage up , and following Jin Wei's directions they placed themselves in a position where they could quickly put the cage in place.
After they were done , Liu Ying walked and threw the Crazy inside. Before it even hit the water, Da Xiong and the Juniors quickly slammed the cage over the water hole , and two of them bounced up to secure it by burying the extensions deep.
The Crazy thrashed around wildly , but the cage didn't budge.
Lv Ling asked some people if they had seen Liu Ying , and they told her where she was, so Lv Ling walked, from a distance she saw Liu Ying and Jin Wei talking about something while Da Xiong and some other juniors were gathered around a large wooden cage.
" Ms. Liu , you finished setting up ! "
Liu Ying turned and smiled at her , " Yes , we were just waiting for you. "
Right then the Crazy jumped up again trying to throw the cage off , but it remained steady.
" Ohh , it's quite sturdy too , " Lv Ling added, amazed.
Jin Wei nodded , " Of course ! Our Senior made it ."
Lv Ling's side eyed him speechless, he sure was trying hard to get on Liu Ying's good graces again.
" Ms. Liu ! Mind us tagging along ? " a voice rang out.
The three of them turned to see Li Cheng and Yang Changtian coming over.
" Mr. Yang , Mr. Li , you're more than welcome to stay , but I must remind you, this is just an experiment , and I cannot guarantee that it'll work."
" Thank you Ms. Liu and please don't worry, we are aware that this medicine is just experimental," Yang Changtian added.
Liu Ying nodded , " Okay then gentlemen , then you're also just on time." She turned to Jin Wei with her hand outstretched.
Jin Wei hurriedly handed over a small vial , and Liu Ying opened it before walking over and dumping its contents into the water.
They waited for a while , but nothing happened. Seeing that nothing was happening , Jin Wei and Da Xiong shot Liu Ying worried glances.
Li Cheng also turned to Yang Changtian but he was still looking inside, he believed in Liu Ying . She's been excellent so far , and he was confident that this would work too.
Lv Ling and Liu Ying were also focused , staring at the Crazy who was still thrashing around.
Jin Wei sighed , " Senior it looks li-" he was interrupted by Liu Ying holding her hand up.
Liu Ying then pointed inside , " Look ."
