As Peter placed down the framed photo of him, May, and Ben on the desk, he took a step back and smiled softly to himself as he examined his work.
His dorm room wasn't half bad!
School was let out early today so the students could better accommodate to the new dormitory system that UA had implemented, and Peter couldn't be more excited to get started on his new living space.
Then he realized that by 'Dorms', UA had meant a small mention that would house each class, with 1-A's being connected to 1-B's for 'Bonding reasons' according to Nezu.
A common area with a huge TV, fully stocked kitchen, a whole place to do laundry, communal showers, and who knows what more.
And don't even get him started on the rooms!
A small personal bathroom, a balcony, a closet and the ability to customize them however they liked as long as they didn't take up more space on the floor.
Knowing that, Peter had gotten straight to work moving in once he set foot inside the building.
His walls were covered in old movie posters from the pre-quirk era, ranging from action movies to horror. His bed was simple, with the comforter being the same red he used in his stark suit, the curtains also doing the same thing.
In the corner of the room, there sat three stacked boxes with the words 'Materials', 'Scraps' and 'Stuff I may be able to use, but I haven't figured out for what yet' written on the cardboard in bold English that he wrote in sharpie.
Just like home.
Instead of one desk, he had taped three desks together to act as both a desk and a workbench, with the space of one desk having the very first computer he ever made himself and the other two serving as a pseudo workbench, a wide cork board was hung up on the wall that spanned the whole length.
On the computer section of the super desk, the cork board was filled with newspaper clippings that the newspaper he worked for made about his vigilantism, along with photos he took while swinging.
On the workbench section, there were several notebooks with random blueprints and sketches, his DIY chemistry set and a bunch of half assembled gadgets. On the cork board that hung over the workbench section were countless sticky notes with random notes ranging from gadget ideas to simple things he wanted to write down like reminders or a possible catchphrase.
Cause all cool heroes has them, right?
And to top off the desk, there sat the photo of when he, May, and Ben had gone to the park when he was younger; it was crazy how May let him take it with him.
On the night table next to his bed sat a microwave with a motherboard and a small screen that showed the time taped to the side that he had made into an alarm clock that was making popcorn, his old camera, and a deck of cards he had bought.
Next to the table and lying on the floor was the mini fridge he had been saving up to buy for at least a year, and inside were a bunch of different kinds of soda bottles and energy drinks for when he needed an extra boost.
Outside of that, his room was a bit of a mess. As he looked around, he noticed there were a few coffee cups just lying around for seemingly no reason.
He hadn't even been there for a full day, when did he drink them?
Also, why did his room smell oddly like pancakes?
Whatever, it felt just like home.
Although he would miss having May there.
With a sigh, he simply picked up the medium-sized TV that was lying on the ground and hung it up on the wall across his bed so he could watch it while lying down, then quickly plugging in the decently sized speakers he had brought and placing them on the small table under the TV.
With a smile, the boy proceeded to take out one of his prized possessions from New York from a small box at the foot of his bed
His self-made DVD, Blue-ray, and tape player he created out of dumpster diving for materials behind a blockbuster. It took him months and getting yelled at by the workers, but he did it, an even better invention than his web-shooters.
Peter had dubbed it the 'M.F.P' or the 'Multi Format Player'.
He would never even come close to this achievement, ever .
And you might be thinking, why doesn't he just get streaming services? Cause that's boring, that's why. He went to the cardboard box that sat beside the bed and smiled softly at the contents.
Stacks upon stacks of movies and shows that ranged from all types of formats. Halloween, Back to the Future, Jaws, Aliens, Jurassic Park, Terminator, and oh so many more that were hidden at the bottom.
He even had every season of Avatar in there!
God, it was beautiful, it took him three years of hunting and collecting to get this.
And he'd do it all over again.

If he wasn't a hero, then maybe he could've become an antique movie collector for a living, he knew some of the older ones that dated from the 1970s-1980s were in incredibly high demand.
Finally, he was done. It was 9:27 PM, he was finally done moving in. Class 1-A and 1-B had wanted to do a room contest as to get to know each other, but he had retreated to his room before they forced him to participate.
Wanna know why? Cause for Peter, it was movie night.
Every three days, he'd sit down and watch a random movie as a form to relax and help with his general stress level.
Tonight was that night, he wasn't gonna have it ruined. He made sure his room could get really dark just to aid the atmosphere and everything!
The last thing that he'll let happen was for it to be interrupted.
He walked over to his bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror. Normally he'd wear a shirt to cover up his scars, but since tonight he'd be by himself, he didn't see the need to. His hair was a bit longer and somehow even messier, but it still looked good, and he had even built up his muscles a bit from hero training!
He was already ripped, but he wasn't complaining.
Peter walked back into his main living space and looked down at the movie filled box, all that was left was to actually pick something to watch.
The sound of plastic cases rattling around filled the room as Peter's hand dove into the box in an attempt to pick out something random. After a moment, his arm rose from the box with a movie in hand.
The brunette could only groan at what he saw.
Alien: Resurrection.
Ugh.
Why did he even have this? It sucked! He was hoping to get something like fight club or watchmen.
You know, actual good movies? But nooo.
The universe decided to give Alien: Resurrection, right? He'd even take Scream 3 or Jason Takes Manhattan over this.
And you wanna know the worst part? He couldn't skip movies! He made it a rule during his movie nights that whatever he picked, he'd have to watch.
Why did he even make a rule that only applied to himself?
Begrudgingly, Peter sat up and popped the DVD into the M.F.P and watched as the opening credits started.
This was gonna be the rest of his night, wasn't it?
As Peter went and laid down in his bed, he couldn't help the small sigh that escaped him.
His movie nights were one of the couple things he could actually use to relax, to stop thinking of hero work or guilt or anything like that.
It was just him and a random movie.
He wouldn't have it any other way
