Chapter 18 - CHAPTER 18

As Aurélia and Isaiah strolled around the area, their laughter and playful banter filled the air. Aurélia's eyes sparkled with amusement, and Isaiah couldn't help but be drawn to her radiant smile. Just as they were enjoying each other's company, Aurélia's gaze landed on a familiar figure–a tall, imposing male form buying something from a vendor. Her eyes narrowed, and she quickly grabbed Isaiah's hand, pulling him into a hiding spot behind a nearby pillar.

"What's wrong?" Isaiah asked, his voice barely above a whisper, as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

Aurélia's grip on his hand tightened. "Shh, it's your brother," she whispered, her breath tickling his ear. "What if he sees us together?" And remember he's my best friend, also you have to know that you have a crazy girlfriend and lastly your parents."

Isaiah's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "You're getting worried already yet you thought you hate me, besides I remember you also said that I can't win over you." His voice was laced with teasing, but there was a hint of vulnerability beneath the surface.

Aurélia's cheeks flushed, and she playfully rolled her over eyes. "I never said that I hated you, Isaiah. I just... complicated things." She peeked around the pillar, her eyes fixed on Isaiah's brother, Asher. "Let's just get out of here before he sees us."

As they watched, Isaiah's brother turned around, his eyes scanning the crowd. Aurélia held her breath, her heart racing with anticipation. Isaiah, sensing her tension, pulled her closer, his warmth and calmness enveloping her.

"Hey, it's okay," he whispered. "I'll handle my brother if he gets to know us. But maybe we should talk about what's really going on between us. And also,we should stop hiding."

Aurélia's heart skipped a beat at the suggestion. Was she ready to face the consequences of being with Isaiah? Only time would tell.

"What do you mean we have to stop hiding?" Aurélia asked, her face concerned. "We've barely started anything serious." She smacked her lips, her voice laced with worry. "Honestly, Isaiah, I'm terrified of what's going to happen in this relationship. Your parents, Asher and your crazy girlfriend Gabriella... it's all so complicated."

Isaiah's eyes locked onto Aurélia's, his expression softening. "Hey, I know it's scary, but we can't let fear dictate our feelings. My family's opinions, Gabriella's drama–we handle it. What's important is how I feel for you."

Aurélia's face changed into a concern one as she replied. "It's not just about your family or Gabriella; it's about us, too. We're from different worlds, Isaiah. What if this doesn't work out? What if we end up hurting each other?"

Isaiah's grip on her hand tightened. "We'll figure it out together. We can take things slow, get to know each other better. But hiding won't be the answer to everything if you will agree to be in relationship with me. We need to be true and honest with each other."

Aurélia's lips pursed, her thoughts racing. Isaiah's words resonated deep within her, but the fear of uncertainty lingered.

Asher strolled past their hiding spot, oblivious to the two figures pressed against the wall. Aurélia and Isaiah held their breaths, their hearts racing in unison. Fortunately, Asher didn't seem to notice them, and they let out a collective sigh of relief as he disappeared from view.

Aurélia's grip on Isaiah's arm tightened as she pulled him out from the behind pillar. "Thank, God we were not seen," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. Her hand instinctively went to her chest, where her heart was still racing. "You need to go home, Isaiah. This is getting out of hand."

Aurélia pushed him forcefully. "Crazy girl, what are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm trying to save us both from trouble," Aurélia muttered, her words tumbling out in a rush. "Your brother is already suspicious, and if he finds out about us... I don't want to think about it."

Isaiah chuckled softly, his eyes never leaving Aurélia's face. "You're so dramatic, Aurélia. But fine, I'll go. Can you push me again, though? I liked the way your hands felt on my back."

Aurélia's cheeks flushed as she rolled her eyes. "Stop teasing me, Isaiah. This is serious."

As Isaiah turned to leave, Aurélia caught his arm, her voice barely above a whisper. "Be careful, okay? I don't want anything to happen to you."

Isaiah's expression softened, and he covered her hand with his. "I'll be fine Aurélia. But promise me one thing– you'll be careful too. Anything I forgot to tell is that I remembered that you said you don't like me but why suddenly are you telling me to take care of myself." he added jokingly.

Aurélia pushed his hand away, "You talk too much, run and go before we get caught by another person we know," she hissed.

Isaiah chuckled and gave her a playful peck at her cheek before turning to leave. As he ran away, Aurélia couldn't help but watch him go, a mixture of emotions swirling in her chest. She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts, and turned to depart in the opposite direction.

As soon as Isaiah was out of sight, Aurélia's expression changed from playful to serious. She quickened her pace, her eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of trouble. She couldn't afford to get caught by anyone mostly; Gabriella–Asher, especially not with the way things were heating up between her and Isaiah.

The streets were bustling with people, and Aurélia navigated through the crowds with ease. She knew these streets like the back of her hand, and she was determined to keep it that way. As she walked, she couldn't help but think about Isaiah's sweet words and the wild night they had together. She couldn't believe this wasn't a nightmare dream but now becoming a blissful dream.

She even remembered when Isaiah suddenly asked,"Why are you suddenly telling me to take care of myself yet you said you don't like me?" Was it true? Did she really care about Isaiah despite her protests?

Aurélia's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of her phone buzzing in her pocket. She pulled it and glanced at the screen, her heart skipping a beat as she saw a message from an unknown number. The message was simple– "Meet me at the old oak tree at midnight, Love you my little pony." Aurélia's mind was racing as she wanted to know the exact person who has sent the message. She later remembered the only person who calls her "my little pony" was Isaiah.

She replied back with the text saying; "You can't hide your identity for so long because I'm a very intelligent detective when it comes to words, Isaiah."

Isaiah suddenly called after being recognized by Aurélia. "You fell for my trick, pony." Isaiah said. "Of course I'm a very intelligent detective, you're going to be arrested for... breaking the rules." Aurélia replied.

"Hmm, like which rules did I break?" Isaiah asked. "They are so many, but one of them is having a wild sex night with me and another is using another contact unknown number." Aurélia replied, and then she hung up the phone.
