The Prophet had little doubt that Kael Duskborne was part of it. That boy brought destruction with him wherever he went.
He'd massacred his people without hesitation. He'd started a rebellion that no one truly wanted to be a part of.
Smoke rose above the walls, and in the falling sun, he could see fires glowing in the distance.
People were dying. Innocents, just like the people of his village.
They didn't deserve this devastation that Duskborne brought with him.
I was chosen. For so long, I never knew what I was chosen for. Now I understand. Kael Duskborne is the reason I've been given these visions. He is the reason I am here, right now, in this moment.
Everything he'd done, since the day he'd been found as a baby in the marshlands, was for a reason.
And now the Prophet understood.
